The seasoned guy who processed my rental car was trying his hardest to upsell me on everything they had to offer when it wasn’t needed. That upsell pitch was too forceful for me. I already had everything I need when I booked the reservation online, I just needed my vehicle. My car was great and fit me perfectly. I would just recommend not to be so aggressive into trying to sell anything that customers don’t want or need at all

They are ruining my vacation!
I’m here for a wedding and i will likely miss it because of them. Their reservation system is useless. They cannot control the line. The customer service is nonexistent.
Just don’t rent here.

I've rented a car from dollar before they were taken over by Hertz and everything went smoothly at the San Francisco Airport . In April 2024 I reserved a car with a confirmation number using my social security bank card (the same one I used before). When I arrived I was asked for yet another credit card which I didn't have (I'm 80 years old) living on social security. They refused to rent me a car so here I am stuck at the San Francisco Airport with no car...with the confirmation in my hand my room reservation is now no-good (because I can't get to it on public transportation...ruining my entire vacation to my-City-by-the-bay. If you want to have a great time be sure to rent a car from Dollar!!

Terrible experience, especially with the front desk upon arrival. We had already taken out all the insurance from our country, ALL of them, the guy at the desk cornered us into getting an additional one (saying it wasn't included in our package, which we will check) $200 more... He only spoke to my partner and every time I asked something he didn't even look at me and continued talking to him.
We will never trust this company again.

Worst car rental agency ever.
Do not rent with them.
They never have the cars you booked and try to upsell you on more expensive cars after having you wait in line for 2 hours. Always understaffed.
I can not believe I ended up with Dollar again after booking with Skyscanner:(

The customer service was terrible, and there was a lack of communication among the employees. It took an hour and 30 minutes to get the car rental, despite having already checked in on the website.

Don't rent a car here!! I never agreed to a toll pass or road assistance service and so $422 was simply debited without me ever agreeing to it. It's unbelievable what they allow themselves to do.

Almost an hour in line to receive the vehicle. Unacceptable after a flight to have to wait so long.

Took us 2 hours after a 6 hour flight to just get up to the desk. (There was a line that was moving insanely slow with only 2 people working the counter.) The girl at the counter was sweet but was new and had no idea how to help us. We had a reservation for a month prior but they couldn’t find the keys to a new car. Not only that but it was expensive. $500 extra fee for dropping off in a different city. Will never use dollar rentals ever again. Gonna avoid thrifty and hertz if I can too.

Landed, took the air train, blue line to the car rental building. We didn’t pre register, so had to wait in line. Vince took care of us and did a fantastic job. Very pleased with the car ??

Debit card deposit is way too high for someone who flew into town with a round trip ticket and they want 500. I would never recommend this place to knowone nor come come back here. While Alamo is much much cheaper.

It is a long queue to reach the customer service representative. Their system is old and there is no flexibility of their policy at all.
Not a very good experience, we have to consider Dollar carefully next time.

I had already paid and confirmed my reservation on rentalcar.com.
They said they don't have a car and tried to upgrade me to another car.
I told them that any car of the same type would be fine, but they still insisted that I had to upgrade to a Mercedes because they don't have any other car and made me pay more.
They said they had a car on the ground floor, but when I get there, the car is not there, and they said only they have Travelizer, 15 seaters van, or Volts, I had no choice but got a Travelizer for 586USD paid more, only to find that the Altima I had booked was right behind it.
I asked the office staff on the ground floor why there was an Altima and they said it was probably reserved.
I told him that I was the one who reserved it, but he said I'd have to talk to staff again on the 4th floor.
I went up to talk to him again, but he is not on his chair (at the most left side) and I kept waiting and waiting and waiting, and finally got stuck and went home with that Travelizer.
because its 10pm and I was so tired from long trip.
I ended up paying about $586 more ($844 hold), even though it was only for a week, and I saw that rentalcar.com had already paid $270.
No matter how many times I call them, they don't answer the phone.
The way these people work is a complete scam.
I have never seen a company anywhere in the world that scams like these people.
I'm even thinking of taking legal action after seeing how these people are responding.

Great experience. Fast lines. But you can't pick your car on the parking lot... they assign you a car type whatever you reserved on.
