It is a dollar store for goodness sack!!!!! go to Costco for the things you wont FOREVER. a $1.00 store mean just that. stop getting a $1.00 store confused with ( Best Buy/ Costco/walmart). The grade of the MATERIAL is not the same. stop fussing at the $1.00 store and move on. there are people out here who can't do nothing but a dollar store.That's why they are in busines.

I could buy a variety of stuff here. Although I like it that they have some small tools, party supplies ain't that bad. Definitely coming back to Discount City!

Taking advantage of a blind woman. Sold my aunty a broken fan and refused to give her a refund. Tasteless. Customer service is terrible. Do not shop here.

Again, we're talking two different stores that aren't even affiliated. I The red awning one is where you wanna go for shelving and electronics or appliances, kitchen supplies, water heaters, and vacuum bottles. The green awning has decent lower end manual tools or tool accessories, meal containers, bit of foodstuffs like Shasta sodas, decent party supplies for that backyard get-together. Former closes earlier than latter, both are pretty good in their respective markets! If you want nicer stuff, you go to the red awning, and if you need paper plates or a regular basic screwdriver, green awning. If you're coming from 24th street BART, you have to pass the green awning one heading in the direction of 23rd street to get to red awning one even though its address number is higher because SF address numbering makes no sense, particularly along Mission. No idea why.

I spoke to technician who explained why phone did not work. He tried to transfer to return dept , did not go through . Called 3 times ,no response. I had to go through my credit card company file dispute.

I have visited this store before for the past 7 years. Here and there. But today was just off. I had gone in to see what they had in store. I ended up getting a hand soap. It had a really nice Scent to it . At the register I just asked the cashier if she could help me with the pump to open it . I didn't want to break it . So I asked for their help . Omg . The owner opened it and called me a r****** He really didn't have to handle that way . . Right in my face . He is so rude . I'm disabled . I will never go back there .

The IRS should pay a visit to this store. I bought an item for $14.99, I ended up paying $17.37 so they either charged me 16% of sale tax or jacked up the price. The receipt doesn't show tax rate. All it says is Custom amount: $17.37. The person who rang my sale was Mohammad. This place robs you without a mask.

I usually don’t come to this point of writing a review but honestly this store is not no discount store I been here a few times and everything is over charged and they notice you buying more they switch up the prices which is hilarious. The costumer service has to change too the owner is rude. If you really want to save some money go to the 99cent store on 4550 Mission st for better customer service and way but way better discounts you’ll be surprise how much you can get for the price. I usually go to the store I’m suggesting you but that day I couldn’t I was running late for something so stopped at this store which I regret going to. ??♀️Your welcome.

Today was my last day EVER shopping here. The owner is very rude as I was getting cleaning supplies I noticed the floor was wet and quickly realized it was my cleaner that was dripping. As I was closing it, the owner of store very rudely tells me to not open it and I told calmly that I did not. He then rudely again tells me to leave it he was going clean it. I was getting another one and still was going to purchase the one that spilled, and he continued to say those come closed they don't open, all of them are closed, STILL BLAMING ME. At this point I was mad because I know I did not open it and kept telling him. My mom got mad at said leave everything don't buy anything from him and he goes on to say yeah yeah leave! He is so disrespectful and will never be shopping here again, and yes he was the owner, I know bc I've came to this store since I was kid, I've lived in the mission my whole life so I was very disappointed in the owner and I hope he learns to be more respectful and that people realize how rude he actually is.

This is confusing, because there are two stores with the same name. Here's the rundown:Discount City 2786/2784 Mission, and kinda' SF Tropical next door at 2768 Mission. Lotsa' cheap stuff cheap. Some excellent deals on slippers and household stuff. They're pretty nice to me, and the prices are really good on a lot of housewares, etc.NOT Discount City at 2762 Mission a couple stores down, which is a total rip-off! Strange--same name, but a huge difference! They completely overcharged me, which I questioned at the register, then let go. I shouldn't have--could have gotten it all at 2786/2784 Mission, BigLots, even Walgreens for half that! Highway robbery.

I bought electric thermos and did not realized until I get home that I was overcharge. I look at the price to other store and contact the store but there reasons is pandemic right now and the price went up. I am not going to buy in this store anymore.

Some people here are very rude. Not sure if it's the owner of this store, he is very unfriendly. I was gonna support them, but I just walked out. You are not treated well. I don't feel safe coming to this store. My first and last. I will not come back. I will support others but not this one. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
