Pharmacy does not answer the phone, been on hold for an hour and they close in 7 mins so I'm not holding my breath. What the hell happened to customer service?

I love my neighborhood CVS on Van Ness and Turk. The store is well lit and clean. The staff are friendly and professional. I always get great customer service. Thank you Dalia for always taking good care of me.

The staff here is very friendly. They were open on Thanksgiving when I had an urgent need and Christine was so helpful. I was really grateful! The pharmacists have always been helpful too. Yes, most merchandise is locked, but considering the neighborhood, homeless and rampant theft I can't blame them.

Now that this store is selling food products, I go in more often than before. The closest "real" grocery store is almost too far to walk and I have to pull a rolling suitcase to transport my groceries back (which is getting harder now that I'm getting older).

Great pharmacy! Head pharmacists are personable and go out of their way to accommodate me. Service is the best!

I'd like to preface by saying I'm not a person that normally writes reviews but this pharmacy is the worst pharmacy that you could ever have prescriptions at (& that's a lot coming from a former pharmacy technician). Not only did they not order the correct medication for me (which is still not filled), I've been on hold for the last 4.5 hrs trying to contact them to just cancel the order & put it on hold so I can just transfer out of the pharmacy. I even had another pharmacy call on the doctor line to attempt to get transfer the script & they called me back to say that they weren't answering the doctor line either. Totally unacceptable

It is Impossible to contact this outlet at 700 Van Ness by phone. No matter how long you wait. All they do is tell you to install the App. Even in an emergency, if you cant use the web, and wait for 24 hours, or it isn't something they handle on the web, they just hide. I am disabled and cant get into the store without an expensive cab ride. This is DEPLORABLE SERVICE FOR WHAT SHOULD BE A MAJOR PART OF MY HEALTH CARE TEAM! I have honestly spent over five hours and three days to get ANY HUMAN to answer the phone including "front of the store" managers, or ANYONE IN THE PHARMACY, for any reason., and neither can my doctor. This has been going on for months, because my regular pharmacy has been out of one of my meds. NEVER will I attempt to use them again! Worst Service in SF! Walgreens is infinitely better, and they are nothing great.

This location is so rampantly thieved upon that there are noticeably fewer products (literally half-empty shelves in some sections) and even the refrigerators have to be unlocked by the employees if you want something. I feel like the staff always is breathing down my neck and following me around when I am just trying to find what I want and pay for it. Instead of the employee's presence being helpful as you would hope, it is more like they are guarding the stores products rather than selling them. Plus they have security, let them do their job. I feel judged and rushed every time I go in here and haven't had a positive experience with any of CVS staff. (note: the 3rd party security guard there is actually very nice and more helpful than the actual CVS workers, this is the only reason I am giving it 2/5 stars)

Date of Experience: Monday, 09/25/2023 @ approximately 3:30 pm PDTThis CVS store 701 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102 officially represents a customer prison. It is scary creepy & it completely reflects the total detetioration of San Franicsco's quality-of-life for it's remaing citizens. It makes me cry; this makes me want to move to another place.I had a number of errands run today. On the way home to my place, I needed to pick up some cleaning supplies.Unfortunately, I choose to attempt to purchase these items at this CVS Store on Van Ness Avenue & Turk Street. What a mistake! I was “IN & OUT” in less than five (5) minutes.I was stunned & shocked that the entire one hundred (100%) percent of this CVS store was on LOCKDOWN. Anything I wanted to purchase, I would need to press a CALL BUTTON & have a CVS customer support onfloor employee come & UNLOCK all their prized merchandise. From what I could observe, this CVS Store did not appears to have adequate staff to OPEN most of these locked cabinets. Does not make sense to me at all.The floor plan is just like a PRISON, as the shopping aisles are maze-like and dead end into nowhere. I was not able to move freely about the store. Just like a forced confinement. It appears that this aisle arrangement was construed to prevent would be no-gooders from being able to GRAB & RUN. It reminded me that in prisons the steps are purposely made at unequal heights to trip up escaping prisoner.Okay, yet for the ninety (90%) per cent of decent human being customers, it reflects another massive change into a very strange surveillance shopping era. Awful. From my very fast foray around part of the store, there were employees in the back for the pharmacy. There was also a CVS employee at the "self-checkout" area, and a very unfriendy security guard. I really should have videotaped his unwelcoming attitude.I quickly decided that I could not support this type of consumer "lockdown" CVS shopping experience. I politely returned my red carry plastic shopping basket to where I picked it up from.Of course, the security guard was totally ready to POUNCE & GLARED to see, if I had taken anything without paying for it. Please! An older man & woman were absolutely desperate to find some assistance. Did they find any? No. Yet, they chose to ask me, "Do you work here?" I was wearing extra-large bluetooth headphones, their request took me by surprise. They looked like people, who were visiting San Francisco. How embarassing for San Francisco. I can only imagine, what type of impression their experience at this CVS Store on Van Ness & Turk street left on them.Hopefully, there should be a IN HOUSE SURVEILLANCE CAMERA video footage. It could then verify this post.I appreciate you reading this review. San Francisco is plummeting into a dark abyss. When are we going to do something about it to make San Francisco WONDERFUL AGAIN?!L-CJ

I don't write reviews but the service that Adam and Daisy provided me honestly warranted one. I was in the neighborhood and needed some plastic utensils for lunch for my team and they had run out. I approached Adam to see if there were more and the selection in the store is grim. But Adam went out of his way to give me sets of utensils you get with prepacked food from behind the counter. He was gracious and kind and beyond helpful even when he certainly didn't need to be. I appreciate his gesture very much and my team got to eat their lunches! Daisy was superb at the self-checkout and got me extra large bags for the snacks and water I bought. The machine freaked out a few times beeping away saying that I didn't scan my items. She was right beside me to fix it. I appreciate these two so much, thank you Adam and Daisy!

The very sweet lady Ms. Editha has always been very helpful and friendly each time I do my drugstore runs. While the retail shops in SF (especially downtown) are deteriorating, I’m glad a place like this still have genuinely nice people like her.

I unfortunately have to come here frequently. This store has a horrible selection, but more annoying is how the more tenured staff handles self checkout. There are a few employees who interrupt the self checkout process and make it more complicated. I had someone interject to make sure I scanned all my items (I did), and when she was fumbling with my screen, she removed my coupons. I had another woman prompt me to input my phone number before scanning any of my items even though my hands were full with products to purchase. I dread having to come to this location due to the staff and wish they’d just leave self checkout shoppers alone unless help is requested.
