My husband and I wanted a different color for our sons nursery 5 years ago. We used Velvet Noir and loved it. Fast forward 4 years later and we are selling our house. We visited the showroom and Burcu was able to get us more of this color and explained how one coat painted over the same wall would bring it back to life. Velvet Noir did not disappoint! We can’t wait to play around with new colors at our new home! Thank you Color Atelier team for your amazing product and customer service!

Great products and very knowledge staff! Even though they are a small business' and it sometimes takes them a minute to get back to you they are very help when they respond. Willing to take time to go over proper prep work for their products. The Lime Paint is great for DIY projects and their color selection is fabulous. The Tadelakt is also a great product however, it does take some expertise to install so it is best to work with a contractor with plaster experience. Although the staff spent time going over the application process so we could understand it has an end-user.

Plaster was a great product, but their sealers and epoxy are awful. We have had to resand and refinish the plaster twice for the actual white to show. Use another sealer, wax and epoxy if you choose to use this product.

wow, so impressed with the quality of this product! I used lime wash paint in the color chèvre throughout my entire home. They even worked with me to layer lighter and darker tones to achieve a plastered aesthetic. It added such amazing texture and truly elevated the look of my home. The dimension and warmth it added to my neutral palette was a total game changer and helped me to achieve the laid back luxe vibe I was going for. I couldn’t be happier with the results and will definitely use again on future renovations!

This paint is amazing. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but the super knowledgeable staff convinced me lime paint was the way to go for staining my bricks and giving depth to my interior walls, and they were right. This product is amazing and everything came out exactly the way I wanted.

Very disappointed. I tried one of their products and it was ok. I was hoping to try more but I had questions and no one would return my phone calls or emails. I can't support a business like this even if it was a referral from a colleague.

The Limewash paint is amazing. The colors are true to the pictures online and the application was very easy. I watched a few youtube videos and it worked out very well. Two coats are needed for sure, but a gallon goes a long way. The color constantly changes with the light throughout the day and it looks so cool. I couldn't be happier.

I’ve just recently moved to San Francisco and I want to do small projects for my new place. I was looking for products that are eco-friendly and good for health. Gladly, i found Color Atelier on Instagram. Their products are known with being super durable and more importantly non-toxic. When I found out that they have a showroom located in the Mission, I was so happy to get in touch and made an appointment to see the colors in-person before purchasing. It was a beautiful and cozy showroom with friendly and helpful staffs. They have a wide range of color selection and it was sort of challenging for me to pick the right one for my apartment. I received help from John who gave the best customer experience I have had since I moved here. John was very professional, kind, and knowlegable on every single product. He explained really well and gave thoughtful recommendations. I was planning to achieve a finished look that is not too busy nor too subtle. So he made sure I had everything I needed to get the job done right. I was so happy with the color that i chose and I’m amazed by the finished look that it gave. Will definitely go back for furture plaster and tadelakt products and I highly recommend their products.

Wow, what a treasure! My husband and I searched for a paint shop that wasn’t the usual place riddled with chemicals, toxicity, fumes. We’re sensitive to odors and the interior/exterior of our house over a decade ago we’d painted in lime/vegetable dye. Our contractor found this place and we gave it a whirl. Initially, thinking that going with one of their “stock color” options would be faster, more convenient (we could choose from their website), rather than getting a custom color, which seemed time-consuming and cumbersome, we settled on their “Light Custard.” Was it easier? Yes. Is it what we should’ve done? No. Never having done business with this company, we didn’t know that customizing our color would be bomb and painless (I’ll get to that later). Our painters primed the custard with one layer, and painted over it with two coats. With the lighting, texture, and location of our hallway, it didn’t turn out as we envisioned (which is why always do the sample on your wall, lol). Did we didn’t listen to this little voice in our heads? Duh, no. We were impatient and impulsive—never a good combo. I came up with a couple of deeper yellow shades, which I emailed Atelier about. They responded on the same day and forwarded my request to their color specialist, John Pengelly. He replied in hours, and said though he didn’t know if he could get that level of saturation, he’d be happy to try. I needed to make an appointment, which I did for later that week. We drove to S.F., John met us, and (based on some quick calculations on his monitor) within minutes mixed a shade. The process is fascinating, with a white base and super concentrated pigment, a vigorous shade, and voila—it was done! We weren’t sure how much to get, but I’d read on their site in FAQ’s that one gallon would be all we needed. We got it at a reasonable cost, and just as we were about to drive off, our contractor texted to tell us it was a safer bet to get two gallons, so off we went in to grab another, which John again mixed on the spot. From the second we walked in to the moment we left with two gallons, we were in and out of there in half an hour. Looking back, rather than picking one of their stock colors, we should’ve done the customization to begin with. Their stock colors are ’sophisticated’ neutral shades, which I hate. Deep vibrating stuff is more my jam. Our painters covered the entryway in two days—and boom, we're thrilled! We love this company--their organic compounds, lime base, all natural pigments … I’m hypersensitive to odor, everything’s a freakin migraine trigger for me and my husband is allergic to more things than not. There is almost no odor and zero fumes in their paint (just a slight bit of odor to the primer, barely detectable for most people). The customer service we got, from initial email communique, phone call with John to discuss the likelihood that he’d be able to color match, and calling the day of the appt. to make sure he was going to be on site ... plus the actual mixing of the color, and the ease of everything-- all of it, start to finish—seamless. It doesn’t hurt that it does not break the bank and is so affordable. I’ve forgotten exactly how much it was because my husband put it on his card, but I remember being struck by how reasonable it was. We got exactly what we were looking for! It means so much that they were not wedded to what they could not do, but were willing to think outside the box, and problem solve, get creative, and willing to try. Effort and good intention go a really super long way—and they did exactly this in spades. I’ve no doubt that if/when we do other rooms, Atelier will be our paint source. Btw., I’m so sick and tired of companies not having a real live person to talk to, or being on hold for an hour; this was a wholly different experience. I’m so sick of loon automated menus, where I get routed to a different decision tree. I called Atelier maybe three times—someone answered the phone, he/she was actively helpful :-) The art of human customer service is not lost!

We couldn't be happier with our limewash paint job with Color Atelier! I've always loved the look of venetian plaster but was always nervous that I wouldn't be able to do the job DIY. My husband found Color Atelier's limewash and after watching the videos, we decided to give it a try. Neither of us are very handy and am so surprised by how easy it was to paint! I'm very proud of the finished look, which is exactly what we were hoping for and looks just like the photos!Furthermore, the customer service at Color Atelier was fantastic! Marissa responded to my emails very quickly and assisted with what shades to order to achieve more texture and depth we were looking for. She was so helpful and supportive. We can't wait to do more limewash and are so happy we found Color Atelier - can't recommend enough!

I ordered on 1/30 and I have a painter booked for 2/10.. I've communicated with the team about the order change after I placed it on 1/30 but they never relayed it to the rest of the team so they never shipped my order. The process of moving is already stressful so this is additional, unnecessary stress. Will update this review if my order ever arrives on time for the painter.Update: paints have arrived on 2/10 afternoon so the painter had to be pushed back. Updating the rating as they are always very responsive and helpful on Instagram. Love their paint quality as well.
