Is this the most overpriced grocery store in America? Stores that are nearby offer better quality produce at half the price.

Good produce. Good selection of other stuff. Good butcher for sure. One thing to watch out for is that certain items can be very expensive. If that doesn't bother you then Mollie's is a great grocery store.

Has everything we need from ethical sources, and the meat and cheese departments are really good, really nice helpful workers too!

Much higher prices than even Whole Foods...convenience is the reason we shop there but never for a BIG shop...add 20% + to the cost of most items compared with Safeway

I was at Molly Stone on Portola Avenue yesterday and I wanted to buy their Carrington Organic Coconut Oil. The price was $16.20 for 16 ounces. Then I looked the price that Amazon was selling it for. To my shock, Amazon's price was $16.99 BUT for 32 ounces. This store is ripping people off and their prices are freaking insane. You gotta be crazy to shop at this store.

Mollie Stone's Instacart is the worst business. wow!!!I've live in the neighborhood for years, I used to love them. Even when their prices started going up and up, I put up with it because I had a history with them. But now their INSTACART people, I don't know where they picked these people up. They have a shopper: Guadelupe, rated as platinum shopper. Anything but. I asked really nicely to please not make replacements without checking with me first. Old trick: they enter the replacement just as they're checking out, so you don't get a chance to approve or not. I paid extra for fast delivery, this Guadelupe couldn't be bothered to label the bags, so the delivery was late. And when I asked to refund the tip, they refused claiming it was too late. I had an even worse experience with this Guadelupe a few weeks ago. She started replacing items but I stopped her and asked if she could look for something else. She then just cancelled my order. Mollie Stones: clean up your act, watch whom you hire, because at the prices you charge you should be providing white glove service, or at least civilized service, not this garbage! And yes I live in the neighborhood and will spread the word. Remember how Starbucks suffered when they tried to put La Boulange out of business? Yes we neighborhood folk made sure Starbucks returned La Boulange to the owner, with huge profit. Thanks to the neighborhood. Here are the people:Guadelupe F: Instacart shopperWinnierose: Instacart online agent who would not refund the tipSamuel K.: Instacart superviser in the store. If you want to see what it's like when lazy dishonest workers do the job, order your Instacart from Mollie Stones in SF on California Ave.

came to mollie stone's for lunch. got some "world famous salmon salad". despite said salad being mostly salmon, they've somehow managed to make it taste nothing like salmon and entirely like you're eating farts instead. the presumably "world famous" part about said salad is how it made my pee smell exactly like the salad the following morning. i do not look forward to the actual farts and poops it produces. but i can now understand why it's world famous and why i won't be getting it ever again.

Everyone knows this is an expensive store. That can be OK when they have something you can't get elsewhere - I buy Acme sourdough there, which I love, because I can't find it elsewhere near me. Yesterday, my wife and I decided while there to pick up a couple of sandwiches at their deli. Expensive? Of course, $13 + $14. Worth it? Nah. My "Organic Mollie's Turkey" tasted like generic turkey loaf. I expected meat roasted in the store. The bread - stale. My wife's pastrami - a lot of gristle in it. Tasted fine, but again, $14? I'm going back to the Cheese Boutique in Glen Park.

Ive always purchased groceries and Hot food items from this location, Honestly I had a negative interaction with the cashier and A customer Infront of me, this particular Customer had looked at me a few times in bias ways, and when she approached the cashier said "Things are like they used to be" this a quote referencing Changes in diversity in the store, is basically a racist way of saying I am not happy with seeing customers of color. The cashier attendant agreed with her and said "yea because of Covid people are Instacarting". When I approached the line he looked at me and said how many orders? I was like what? I am buying this food from the Hot deli actually. After this interaction I never bought anything from any Mollie's again. Yes you heard me correctly, I spent about $29 for the last time.I still have all my receipts from this store I spent over $900 here.

Love the quality of food here but it's ridiculously expensive. More expensive than Whole Foods. Love their sandwich center but $13.99 for a sandwich is kinda pricey. It costs $1 extra just to have cheese in your sandwich and $1 extra for pepper turkey. The flax muffins I usually buy at Whole Foods is $8.99 for 4 muffins, the same product at Mollies costs $12.99. Just ridiculous to have expensive pricing on items you can get substantially cheaper at Whole Foods or even Safeway.

I have shopped at Mollie Stone's for decades now, back when it was known as Tower Market. In that time, I have watched it go from an affordable neighborhood market to perhaps the most expensive grocery store I have ever been to. Sadly, the quality of the products do not match the increase in prices. The produce is subpar and has been for years. Today was the last straw for me. I went in to the market to get a few things for Sunday dinner (grilled cheese). As I was shopping for cheddar (10 dollars for 8 slices), I picked up a package of MOLDY cheese. Green splotches everywhere. This is inexcusable. This market, like the city as a whole (but that is another conversation) is IMPOSSIBLY expensive. You would think that they would match the quality of their products to the prices they charge. Wrong. They are ripping off the neighborhood and they are doing it with no shame. Enough. There is a Trader Joe's about a mile away. Go there.PS- While I was in the store today, I noticed that another customer was also complaining to a manager about the quality of products there. Glad I am not alone!PSS- The employees are great. My problem is with management, ownership and quality control. Absolutely atrocious.

I didn't actually shop here so I can't speak about the store itself. I read that they carried a particular item that only they had. I don't live in San Francisco, so I decided to call to inquire availability. The gentleman, (no boy since he sure didn't act like a gentleman) was downright rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. He didn't even let me finish asking my follow up question and hung up on me. With "service" like that or the lack thereof, there is no way I will be bringing my business there.

I like the variety of groceries available at Mollie Stones. It is good to have different options of drink and food. I also like their wine selection. A good neighborhood feel.
