Hello Y'ALL low-raters / under-raters who cause nothing but a serious interruption damaging certain businesses' way of delivering their precious goods or services to us; and whenever a particular business' main concept is nutrition related, if I KNOW that they are doing a really great job, I NATURALLY WANT TO ADVOCATE for them IF I WITNESS THAT they are challenged by words of INJUSTICE. I guess that is simply how my gratitude to those kinds of good businesses wants to make itself, HEARD THROUGH MY WORDS. It is almost impossible for me to ever be able to UNDERSTAND that certain types of people do shop certain supermarkets which are publicly already known to be on the pricier side on a wide range of products they uniquely offer (That Uniqueness BEING their very justification for their overall pricing strategy, perhaps?) - SO ABSOLUTELY FOR A REASON - yet they do STILL shop in those places, actually knowing that TRUTH in such conscious awareness which although, they choose to use to be destructive, simply because of the ULTIMATE FEELING of a selfish regret that they feel for having initially not wanted to make a little bit more of an actual effort to shop the grocery store of their heart's choice, instead they wished for the closest supermarket to their home to offer the lowest prices in town; knowing that they QUITE LIKELY wouldn't! I wonder if people ever consider appreciating the logistics organization that such small businesses facilitate to literally be able to provide great quality food, in your hood, which does not happen to be that close to any other grocery store within a given range of a mile!.. SO WHOSE PROBLEM DO YOU THINK THAT IT WOULD BE, THAT ENTIRELY UNFAIR & UNTRUTHFUL LOW OVERALL RATING FOR THIS ONE AMAZING OF A NUTRITION PROVIDER?*AND IF THEY ARE PRICY; YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO COMPLAIN PUBLICLY ABOUT THAT, based on "WHAT" exactly..?WERE YOU FORCED TO SHOP THERE? WHAT'S THE VERY REASON OF YOUR DISSATISFIED STATE OF MIND, SUCH REASON THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO EMPTY YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS ON SUCH A NEIGHBORHOOD GEM OF A BUSINESS?*Yes, they are pricy. But who gives you the right to complain about it? Were you forced to shop there? Well, if that REALLY and quite ridiculously happens to be your case, then you should have already called 911 to complain about it / report the crime.***YOU WANTING TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD, YET NOT BEING ABLE TO AFFORD IS A YOU PROBLEM.***Businesses which earned my trust do not need to hire me as their word-of-mouth advertiser; since that kind of a SERVICE provided by a satisfied customer could only be one of the greatest ways of them wanting to say and indeed saying a sincerely heartfelt "Thank You!" to the provider of that gratifying service. To me, that is simply how or what it is.On pre-pandemic days, where at times I've worked such shifts that at times totaled 16 hours, requiring me to work like 6 days in a row mostly due to scheduling that had to bear layoffs, particularly this Mollie Stone's phenomenally delicious and highly nutritious chicken breast and turkey sandwiches literally saved my life countless mornings. As a person who would barely ever prefer to buy or eat deli food - Hey, those sandwiches were for me like a total exception among the types of product types which are typically found in aisles I would typically never feel the need to check out throughout my brief and goal-oriented (Not process) grocery shopping. If for any reason you are out of alternatives to get anything better in your system, keep the Mollie Stone's in the Castro in mind; not only for the sandwich varieties they offer; but also a very meditteranean boutique grocery store kinda looking, charming cheese section of theirs, which rest assured; will cast the very first initial spell on you (As you walk into the store through its only door) putting that yummy lookin' brie or goat cheese on your shopping list; even if you won't be getting it, at that particular visit; acting as a reason to dream about it and then go back to finally G

I do not understand what is happening with Mollie Stones. The past several Sales have the usual heading "Fresh Meat and Seafood but lately it has been one fish and one meat prepared in house (such as marinated chicken thigh) and one fresh meat (such as fresh chicken thigh). No more of their nicely extensive offerings of various beef, pork, lamb etc. This week is ridiculous. The "Fresh Meat and Seafood" section consists of Mary's Legacy boneless chicken breasts or whole chicken. Nice and certainly qualifying as Fresh Meat. However, the rest of the "Fresh Meat and Seafood" featured three Royal Asia frozen appetizers (one was a prawn dumpling and another a shrimp roll ("is that supposed to be fresh seafood"?), four Da Napoli frozen entrees such as Penne Basil Pesto and Chicken Fettucine Alfredo, Niman Ranch bacon, Roli Roti Bone Broth and Aidell's sausage. Out of all of this only the Mary's chicken breast and the Mary's whole chicken qualify as "Fresh Meat" and there was no "Fresh Seafood" to be found.I hope Mollie's gets their butcher shop back in order. It used to be excellent but this kind of offering is driving me elsewhere.

While it's nice to have a grocery store in Castro, I usually only shop at Mollie Stone's for emergencies as it's so expensive. You can find some basics/essentials here at a reasonable price but some prices are completely outrageous, often twice or three times the cost you'll find elsewhere such as $9 for a 6 oz container of raspberries or $20 for a rotisserie chicken.

This is my local grocery. Anybody who's reading this, next time you visit mollie stones use your phone and compare prices against Whole Foods or delivery with Amazon Fresh. Those are both expensive options. Mollie Stones is 50% to 3x more expensive than both pretty much across the board. I don't understand why anybody shops here, perhaps they never bothered to check how much they're being gouged for? If you're looking for convenience order from Amazon Fresh. Delivery is free to 6 dollars. Pays for itself easily with the savings.I'd happily support local business if the markup was 10%. It's not. A small box of strawberries is 15 dollars. A tub of Fage yogurt is 10 dollars (6 on Amazon fresh). A cut of salmon is 20 dollars (I paid 9 at a supermarket by my boyfriend's apartment in Oakland).Where does the money go? Maybe real estate? If that's the case how does the Whole Foods keep their prices reasonable and make a profit? Other small local businesses with large footprints like Cliff's? This is the only local supermarket - people should be mad. I am.

This review is for their deli, the bread is made fresh daily and their meat is sliced in front of you. For the same price of a subway sandwich you can make your own at Mollies stone! Also fresh OJ and a tub of mollies ice cream to round out a perfect Sunday.

I love this grocery store for many reasons, but one of which that I would like to highlight today is that they allow me to bring my dog inside without issue. I am often out for a walk in my neighborhood, and realize that I need something quickly from the store. The idea of going all the way home just to drop off my dog and then coming all the way back to the store for one or two items seems completely unnecessary, and I'm glad that they have made an informed decision to accommodate people in my situation. Great job!

Mollie Stone's is always my first choice of neighborhood grocery stores. This place is run well and the staff is always courteous and friendly. If there is ever a line, they immediately open other registers so you rarely ever wait in line. Although its a small place and a little pricey on some items, they have a great selection of speciality items, cheeses and bakery items and fresh fruit. Also the parking garage is a life saver as this is a busy location in the Castro.

This store has been a God send during the Covid-19 pandemic. While the prices are typically a little higher (as in the quality most of the time), the shelves were always stocked, while other grocery stores were pillaged. Need toilet paper, they have it. Disinfectant, always had it. Paper towels, that too. The staff here too are very friendly. Especially the one that always flirts with compliments me on my haircuts ;)
