I’ve watched the smiles and kindness disappear from the workers at this location over the years. And with so many choices of gas stations - and this one being in a prime location - I encourage the owner to have a sit-down with staff and remind them to find their gratitude for the job they have. I know that location is ROUGH for folks rolling in during mental health breaking points - AND - that is the reality of retail in San Francisco. I hope the owners do something to empower the workers to realize they are being of service - vs. the victims by having to work there. The vibe is waaayyyy off. Only use this station if you must.

God forbid you try to take a penny from the leave a penny/take a penny cup...I did that once so I could get a dollar back instead of a bunch of change and it was explained to me that 'It's only for people who need it.' Uhm yeah. Most recently if you put a penny in the leave a penny/take a penny cup they snatch it and put it in the cash register. Really? You charge like a dollar a gallon more than anyone else and now you are taking pennies from 'people who need it'?

This place should be a park, or a sort of community gathering spot, not a gas station. Whoever owns this place should sell it

I think it's hilarious that Yelp is asking if Chevron gas station has compostable containers, reusable utensils, & take-out. I guess they have take-out, but you have to provide your own containers. Anyway, I like this station for convenience, as they have 3 entrances, a smog check, & a convenience store. This pumps are basic, can only pay by inserting credit card, but if you care, you can get Safeway points. For large vehicles, you might want to go elsewhere. The only entrance wide enough is adjacent to the sidewalk, must be entered from market street. You will have zero ability to turn around, so pick you pump wisely. The other pump stations require some finagling, even for small cars. The gas is cheaper on the other corner, but much harder to access. One other thing, this doesn't happen on every visit, but the cleaning water was filthy. That said, this is my go-to gas station.

One of the worst gas stations in the Bay Area. Directly across the street from a gas station selling gas $1 per gallon cheaper.

Do not even attempt to get your car Smog Checked here. The young man attempting to help me had 2 1/2 hours to complete task. He failed miserably. I had to ask/demand my paper work back. Poor guy. Frustrated but no worse for wear.

Convenient location near downtown. Fuel points are a great deal. Open 24 hours a day! The only drawback is how difficult it is to exit the parking lot. You probably don't want to stop on the ramp because it puts your tires at risk of spinning when you try to accelerate.

Never open on time. Many times I show up well after 6:00am, the doors are locked and there will be as many as three people standing around inside talking and playing on their phones. Poor customer service.

They put a $50 hold when you buy gas here!! Outrageous. I got $10 worth of gas and a $50 hold.
