I don't write reviews for banks but john was very helpful and super informative when opening an account. He also made sure we were aware of fees and was very patient in answering all the questions we had. Super knowledgeable and friendly!!! Highly recommended going to him if

Today I went in to get cash to pay for my bill at Swan Oyster Depot. Apparently I’m not the first one or the last customer to go in and get cash. while I was waiting to get help from the teller, the person that was wandering around the line was very nice and helpful. She even gave me a free Calendar that the bank was giving away. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a free calendar from Chase Bank. I had no idea they gave out free calendars. I’m guessing all banks do that? Anyway, service was very friendly both from that lady, and also the teller. I did not have my bank card but I have my ID so I was able to withdraw some cash to pay for my lunch bill. Thanks for the pretty dragon calendar! And for being across from the restaurant that only takes cash.

Ammie Tam is one of the worst branch managers. I closed all my accounts with Chase primarily because of her. Rude and insolent with no customer service skills. I've been a customer for over 50 years, started at American Savings, which was taken over by Washington Mutual, then taken over by Chase. Ammie would not waive my safe deposit fees even after I was told by Lizette Tran, the former manager that my fee will always be waived as long as I'm a customer with Chase. The Escalation Department told me my fee for the box is waived. They even sent Ammie instructions on how to do it. I told Ammie if they were unwilling to keep their promise to me to waive the fee, I would take my business elsewhere. Her response "I'll help you close your account right now." Absolutely despicable coming from a manager. The Escalation Department told me Ammie didn't want to follow their instructions on how to waive the fee for the safe deposit box. Futhermore, the employees at Chase on Polk and California don't even follow procedure when letting customers in the safe deposit room, didn't even check my i.d. Take your money and run!!!

My partner and I were both strongly considering switching to Chase from our current banks, until we learned that they shut down bank accounts for account holders whose political views do not align with their narrative. There is no room for this kind of social credit-scoring and politically-based harassment in a free society, especially from an institution that handles your money. This is a very scary slippery slope. Boycott Chase and take your money elsewhere.

I try to close my account and withdraw a cashiers check. I had my passport, my credit card, my app logged in and they would not let me close or access my money. They said we need to send you an access code. My old number was never updated by the banker but my work number was the right number in there system. So since they didn't trust me. They ordered me a atm card and let me pin it. Had to wait three days to get it so I can now use it to close my account. What I don't get is if you don't trust me with all the stuff i had such as my passport, my cell phone number, my credit card and my app logged in. Then why would you order me a atm card and let me pin it so I can come back to close my account? It makes no sense. No logic and anti customer service on all levels. They said the computer would not let them by pass it. But if a teller or banker recognizes me then they can do a override. So they can override it but choose not too. So please remember the computer is running this location and not the humans.

So, I finally get my chase aamazon credit card replace in the mail. I go with a friend to a local San Fran Branch On Polk St/California to help her cash a check, shes missing her ID. After having some trouble we were asked to provide acct #. I step to the side and go off to bring up my on-line account but friend won't shut up and people are looking. I go outside for a few minutes and come back inside with acct #. Feeling for my credit card after being told we couldnt cash the check it was missing and I asked the teller if I left it with him. The bank manager standing behind him says they found it on the floor and cancelled it and cut it in two. WHAT!! It just arrived! I dont have my debit card or ID since wallet was stolen!! I have no access to money!! I pleaded with the manager and asked her why in hell she would have done that. They KNEW I had just been at the counter and was coming right back!! Do Something I begged her. She just smirked behind her STUPID 2021 mask and dared me to cause a fuss. TERRIBLE customer service at 1500 Polk st San Francisco. I think she thought we were trying to pass a bad check. We weren't. It was a valid check having to do with Section 8 and utilities. She just didn't like how we looked and probably thought the card wasn't mine, but WHAT A BITCH. Never again will I go in that branch.

I called customer service last night regarding being billed for the safe deposit box which used to be free. Was told to contact the branch. Called next morning, I can’t connect with the branch, only with customer service. Ran down there and the teller said I need to call customer service. I told her I did and they told me to come down here. I told her I’m being bounced back and forth like a tennis ball and this is not good customer service. I closed out my box and shifted the contents to my other bank since I pay for that box any way. It’s infuriating when I call a branch and you can’t get through to a live person. I called Sterling and First Republic Bank and there’s always someone there at the branch that answers the phone. Plus you need to go online to schedule an appointment to meet with a branch rep. Hey I don’t have that kind of time to spend online and I want to talk to a “person” at the branch when I call. Will close out my account very shortly. Regional banks seem to give you better customer service, this bank is too big, they can’t be bothered with customers’ needs, this is quite palpable. I will close my accounts soon.

Will be closing my account shortly. I called customer service as I received a letter charging $65 for the safety deposit box, it was free. They said to call the branch maybe I can get it waived. I called the branch and I can't connect with a person, the call goes back to customer service. I went to the branch and the teller said to contact customer service if I want the fee waived. WTF! I told her customer service told me to come down here to see a mgr. Clearly they're bouncing me around like a ping pong ball. Plus when I called I had to go online to make an appointment to see a banker at this branch. Hey I don't have the luxury of going online to talk to a banker - I want to call a branch and TALK to a live person at the branch. I called FRB and Sterling Bank and they have a person at the branch answering the phone. Geez, I guess Chase is too BIG and they can't be bothered dealing with customers calling them, thus you have to go online to make an appointment to talk to a banker. This was the deal breaker for me let alone I was already pissed off of being bounced around from customer service to the branch and vice versa. When the teller said I can close the box, I responded "Gladly". The security guard was standing two feet watching me like a hawk. I showed my "displeasure" if you get my drift - oops the s--t word slipped out, Freudian slip. LOL. Wasn't nervous at all because I didn't do anything bad, I was unfiltered expressing my displeasure with their shit service. I will open an account at a regional bank, at least when you call the branch I will get a person who will address my issues and needs. Chase sucks.

There's no excuse continuing the closure on Saturday of this much needed branch. Seniors especially need walking distance locations. How convenient to continue the excuse of COVID and to reduce hours for employees. It demonstrates how greedy this bank is.

This review is for my experience with the private client manager who is the least professional banker I've ever experienced. For my business account he asked me for my home address, which I didn't disclose due to this being a strictly business account. Rather than moving forward he pulled up a previous address I had on file and said that I was ok with giving it out before. Mansplaining financial options for funds management even after I answered that my brother is a financial consultant. Manager John laid a gem about family not being the best option you want for financial advice. If not my brother, rather your plug for some Robin I don't know? Deaf ears and tone deafness to cultural sensitivity as he plowed through "Nihao" even though I don't speak that language. Just stop. Please.

Horrible!!! Do not put your valuables in their safe deposit box. Went to open mine the other day. The lock was broken and the box was gone!!! Good thing I emptied it a while back. And they don't want to waive the fee for the box.
