I made an appointment ahead of time with exactly what I wanted to see and my size. When we arrived, not only did they not have anything we were looking for in our sizes (just wedding bands), the sales person acted like our visit was an inconvenience complete with sighs and long pauses and an air of unhelpful short answers. While I wasn’t looking to buy a diamond that day, she has no idea what we could have purchased or would have in the future had this been a good experience. I don’t know if I was being judged for what I hoped to purchase that day (plain bands to signify the simplicity and beauty of my last and most precious relationship) or for not dressing in loud luxury or maybe she was just having a bad day, but regardless it was a huge waste of time and big disappointment on a day that was supposed to be really special. I walked out after about 7 minutes and will never, ever go back.
Cartier-If after seeing what I wanted to look at and the size on my appointment request, you would have called to let me know you don’t stock bands in all sizes (even normal sizes) and I didn’t travel two hours to find this out, that would have been a good start. I would also ensure that your customer sales team is friendly and warm regardless of the merchandise the customer originally wants to see. I had plans for several pieces after the bands, but I won’t be back to that store and will do my best to find those pieces in another jewelry store. Tiffany stocks staples in all sizes and has been extremely friendly. We purchased our bands there today.

Always pleasure moment with Jesse. Jesse always makes me comfortable and gives good opinion which catches your own taste exactly. This store is very busy usually you need to make appointment before visiting. If you don't have a sales associate, I highly recommend Jesse.

This is really sad; I really wanted to enjoy my experience here. I came in and was judged immediately from walking into the store as I didn’t have any noticeable designer items (everything I carry is mostly quiet luxury e.g. Khaite and The Row) and was immediately judged for it.
Clients came in after me and still got seated before me. No one came to check in or update me about the wait time. I left the store and told the appointment person that I would buy online as this experience was just really bad. It felt like there were racist undertones there. So disappointing. I wanted two different bracelets and if they didn’t judge me I would have bought both.

If you got the dough, then it's a great place. These places are all about the experience. It's always good to have genuinely helpful people.
There's always those luxury stores that have snooty associates. I don't find this to be the case with Cartier.
Update 2024: Sorry, but it seems like this place has fallen off- or maybe this is anecdotal. Maybe I'm the lucky one that got the goof up. It happens. I'll leave the 5 star rating in place but from Cartier I'm expecting a bit more-at least communication should be top notch. Dropped a watch off for service more than a month ago. No call, no email no text, no update on status, no nothing.
We text the associate that helped us, she got back to us and transferred to Palo Alto. So she knew she was transferring and her clients weren't transferred to someone else? So no one was assigned our service ticket or whatever? My wife had to call herself for the update and come to find out the watch had been ready for weeks. That's not the end. We go pick it up and it was supposed to be sized. It was not. The person helping didn't apologize or anything until we started complaining and then asked if we'd like to "register" the watch again for the link removal. Well, yes! You guys didn't do the job you were supposed to! I'm not demanding in anyway but I feel this brand this, hype, this service should be tippy top. I'll see what happens. Pretty disappointed they're not on top of their service.

Worst customer service. They recommended my husband to get a wrong size of the ring and refused to exchange it for a bigger one when I came back for it. What supposed to be a nice BD surprise turned into a horrible and disappointing experience. Their manager Anna Choi is talking like you owe her money, she repeated 3 times that she worked for the brand for 25 years and didn’t listen to what I had to say. Stay away if you can. There are a lot of brands there that care about customers and willing to provide quality service to you. This store is not one of them
3.25.2024 Update. I sent a private message to the support group as suggested below. It’s been three months, no one got back to me.

Had the most fun shopping with Chanel this weekend and walked out with a LOVE bangle with diamonds. Even though I was casually dressed (I'm super preggo okay??) Chanel took her time with me even though that gal has a stacked list of clients! What I greatly appreciated about her is how she connects the jewelry to the personality, e.g. rose gold highlights a bit more femininity, the LOVE bracelet is meant to be taken out and worn. That helped narrow my decision very quickly so we were in and out in 30 minutes!! While we were waiting for her to dress up the box, they let me take a photo of my pup in front of the panther wall! Can we get a LOVE collar please??

I love coming to Cartier because of Ali Mirgoli! I've been his client for over 2 years and he is so knowledgeable and works super hard to get the pieces that I'm looking for. His rapport and banter is unmatched and I always have a huge smile on my face when I'm in the store.

I appreciate this location. I purchased both my fiancé's ring and my own wedding ring here. The sales reps were very helpful, the security was very kind and the location had very nice flowers (changed twice a week!) and presentation. Unfortunately the ring I chose was not in store in my size but they had it sent from another boutique which I appreciated. I will be in next week to pick up the ring. I was extra happy because I went in to purchase another ring but when I tried a few others on found one I liked even more and the price was shockingly less. More money for the honeymoon!

This Cartier probably has one of the highest ratings of all the Cartiers in North America, and for a good reason. Usually, my boyfriend and I hate stepping inside any ‘designer’ boutiques since everyone is so douchey and judgemental (are we not allowed to shop in sweats? lol) and we always end up ordering our things online. However, Jake and this SF Cartier really changed things for us.
My bf strolled into the SF Cartier to look at watches since he wanted to get us matching ones for our anniversary. He told me how he walked in dressed in home clothes since it was one of the few moments he had for time off, expecting the SAs to be rude to him. He was pleasantly surprised to be greeted warmly at the door, offered drink and Jake spent a lot of time ensuring my bf’s surprise for me would be perfect.
Apparently the Cartier VP was in store that day and Jake introduced my bf to her. After chatting with her about the story of our relationship, she gifted him a super nice bottle of champagne for us to celebrate with! Unfortunately, we moved across the country a month later and long story short the movers that went back to pack the apartment did not pack the champagne since it’s supposedly against their policy :(
Anyways, the watches are beautiful and we are so happy with them! I don’t even want to go to my local Cartier to change the strap since the people there are just not as nice. Jake to this day will still text if he receives a special piece he thinks we will like. We will definitely be back in SF for future purchases.

When using the San Francisco location make sure you contact WARISA. She will give you the customer service you would expect from Cartier. Very impressed. Please support her you won’t be disappointed. Great job Warisa! Thank you.

Update:Grace Zhao, the OPERATIONS MANAGER, just called to apologize and offered me to come back for improved customer service with free drinks for me and my family (she really thought that I would drive to downtown SF for free drinks, as if I need any attention and I don’t have anything to do in my busy life). Why should I go back and spend my money there with no compensation after I left the store feeling disrespected and bad with my face down after the salesman was rude and impatient. He showed me gold bracelets when I was looking for a white gold one. Despite asking to see the rose gold, he insisted there was no white gold available. When I asked again, he continued to deny its existence. He started yelling at me, accusing me of talking loudly in the store, even though I wasn't. It is clear that he needs training in customer service. I am very disappointed. The salesman was very rude and impatient. Maybe he thought I wouldn't buy anything. I was looking for a white gold bracelet, but he showed me gold. When I asked to see the rose gold, he continued to tell me there was no white gold. I asked again if I could see the rose gold, and once again he said there was no white gold. He started yelling at me, saying I was talking loudly in the store, even though I wasn't. He needs training in customer service. Very disappointed.

I came a little late for my appointment and felt awful about that. But our helper Jesse didn't show that this was a problem. I spent enough time choosing my love bracelet. We left the store with a bracelet and a gift for our upcoming baby from Jesse, which felt very nice. I wish to come there more often=)
PS The experience is much better than at Tiffany.
