Very good experience overall. Reserved via Costco Travel. No problems picking up or dropping off. Rented a standard minivan and associate suggested the hybrid version for $5/day more, which we took. Fuel mileage difference was significant - more than covering the higher rate. Minus one star for very worn tires on the van, which made for some unpleasant moments in the rain.

I got scammed!The rates were ok but somehow Budget billed me another 80$ for toll road use. I never used any toll roads / bridge passages during the rental time. Additionally they billed another 10$ for refueling although I returned the car fully filled.We did a wide tour around the west coast and Hawaii and had several rental cars. Budget did not even disclose where the tolls arose and did not want to discuss my case.The car itself was good though.

I'd like to leave 0 stars, because that's what this experience warrants. Check in agent failed to fully disclose charges for toll device. Bad enough. Check in agents at SFO ignored me on arrival, and checked in 8 arrivals after me. When I asked for service, one ofthe agents actually had the audacity to scold me and tell me "that's not my job." Never again, Budget.

I rented an SUV for a friend and I to go to Vegas for few days. I was bringing some belongings for a friend. A few weeks later I received a letter from them stating they found animal hair in the car. I did not have any animals in the car. They wanted to charge me $250! They were "nice" enough to drop it to 125. They are using the card i had on file. This is BS! No wonder they have 1.7 rating, i should have checked that first. I will never ever rent from them again

Pick up was fast and efficient, but staff is unavailable to make sure your gas is actually full.I AM GLAD I KEEP MY OWN RECORDS of the car! I took pics before I drove off including the gas.I got the car at 377 miles left and returned it at 445 miles (CHECK MY PHOTOS! 445 miles vs 355 meter is different and incorrect on the car!) and i filled before i drove it to the airport and the staff saw the gas line dropped and charged me $18 and some change! I was shocked because they charge $10/ gallon. I had 2 hrs left of my rental. She said she closed the bill already when I only asked how much it would be. I asked to drive out to fill and she told me to go to the counter to reopen the check so I can drive it out.I went to the reception and the dude refused to adjust the bill until i showed him my own record. I had to tell em that nobody checked my tank the day I drove it out and i actually gave them the car back almost 100 miles of extra gas. I had to talk and show my own records multiple times from pick up to return photos just to get my bill adjusted!Beware! Keep your own records because the staff at pick up is not gonna do it and during drop off, the filipino staffs are rude because they are busy. SMH. They dont like talking to anyone. A simple question "where can I check my bill before I leave the car?" And the guy yelled at me "bring the car back to the car or else they can't check the car!"No professionalism at all exist here.Note that the car had service light one and I couldn't even swap to another SUV at another location because they were unavailable, so I had to drive a car that needed service.

Be aware of hidden fees and branded vehicles offered at the counter.First of all, I rented a car through the website, and the total cost "including tax" was less than 800 US dollars (for eight days). The final cost was US$1,437. When I checked the cost, in addition to insurance, there were two more taxes and fees. After calculating the hidden service fee, it was almost twice the price. I asked the counter to explain. The counter said very rudely. The implication is that if you don't want to rent, you can cancel now. Do you think I still have a chance not to rent when I get there? ? It's simply a fraud group.In addition, I originally registered a Ford car or an equivalent car online. The lady at the counter originally wanted to give me a Nisson car. She also had to convince me that the size of this car was enough for you to drive alone. Now it is the only car she has, but after a long period of communication and rejection, she finally bought another "upgraded" car. Therefore, I want to tell the car renters who come back that they must stick to it and don't be cheated. How can someone who spends an average of nearly two hundred dollars a night on renting a car be cheated into renting a small car?

I rented this car and upon leaving your location at SFO I asked the attendant about the dashboard warning for maintenance and was told not to worry at the attendant looked over the car. After driving several hundred miles my like and that of my family were put in jeopardy. All 4 tire were worn out and both front tires were bald with the metal cords showing thru the rubber. This car was illegal to be on the road in California and had to be picked up by your tow truck company. I was left without a car for the rest of my trip and had to take an Uber from Modesto CA to SFO. I called customer service several time and no one has bothered to contact me. I expect no less than a full refund and some sort of consideration or contact from senior management.

Our Car Rental experience with Budget at San Fran Airport was awesome. The collection was great with the wonderful person giving us a choice of vehicles within our category. The vehicle itself was absolutely perfect for our tour of California. The drop off was flawless. Will defo use Budget next time we’re in the US.

There was a wonderful smiley face sign telling us we were next... That was the last and only good experience we had!The counter was empty until 8:05. There was a line of people waiting, while every other company's desk was staffed.Robert 'helped' us. My buddy, who had made the reservation, explained that he had lost his wallet at our previous airport. As he asked if he could use a picture of his id, State sponsored app, or any other type of substitution, Robert immediately started shaking his head and saying no, no, no, clearly not even listening.Throwing ourselves at his mercy, we asked what solutions were available since the car was prepaid. He shrugged and asked, 'what would you suggest?'After taking a couple of moments to get over the absurdity of us trying to figure out their policy, we asked him plainly if there is any solution he could provide. He said that there was no way we could leave with the car that day.I asked him if I could use my driver's license in place of the person who reserved it. He said that that would be no problem.The fact he was ready to send us away, hat in hand, reservation already paid for, when there was such an easy solution was mind blowing.Then we get to the petty part!This was my bachelor party weekend. He asked if we were leaving the city. I stepped away and covered my ears so I couldn't hear, as our final destination was a surprise, and came back a few seconds later and asked if it was okay if I could listen again. After my best man confirmed, Robert immediately asked, 'so you're going to Sonoma wine country?'What a jerk ?

The service I received was excellent. I was kept informed and kept in contact by email right throughout. Although there was a bit of miscommunication from the lady at the pick up desk about extra charges, the whole process right from pick up to when I returned the car to your depot at SFO went smoothly and I got my bill and final settlement almost immediately by email. My thanks to the team from whom I experienced a very efficient and helpful service.

We were concern of the long queuing situation at the service desks. However, to our relief, the line was moving fast; with 6-7 open service desks, we got helped and, on our way, very quickly. The customer service was friendly and helpful. It was a great experience to start our trip in San Francisco.

If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. I'd actually ask them for 3 stars back. With my rating being -3. Where to start? The person behind the front desk was extremely rude. Asking me questions about why I wanted to rent the car that I did. Explaining to me that I am a girl and that I shouldn't need to rent a larger vehicle.Next up, we have the reason for my estimated cost was doubled by the time my payment was due. I understand mark ups and unexpected things but to have a 100+ percent markup on what my original booking was is absolutely absurd. Another thing is I received the car completely dirty. On the front driver side of the door it look like somebody poured out a coffee onto the door of the car inside the car. It looks like someone had eaten a burrito while driving salsa and cilantro everywhere. Used napkins inside the glove compartment. It just looked like somebody had just returned it and budget had no concerns about this. It was disgusting and did not feel up to Covid protocol. This was not cleaned at all the steering wheel and windows all had major fingerprints. It was disgusting.Last, we have the total disaster. The very rude gentleman at the counter, told me that I can either pay for a expensive tour pass, which wasn't needed because I only needed to use the tall ones, or that I can bring back to the vehicle and pay the toll fee of shy of $20, or he said I could go online and pay the toll myself which I did, once the car was returned, budget proceeded to charge me the toll fee and did not realize that I actually had already paid which I'm guessing they did not care to look up. This company is a scam. I could not recommend them less and I truly hope you see this review before booking with them and just know that you were cheap rental. Estimated price is guaranteed to not be that low. There is nothing this company could do besides a full refund to make me even consider trying them again.

The worst rental experience ever!Rented a Tesla.. No directions given on how to start the car, charge it or anything. Charged me $110 for being 20 minutes late- but I had to charge the car!The contract has no words or description of anything having to so with a electric car rental!They don't say how to find a charger , how to pay for charge, how much to return the car charged - NOTHING!Just want to charge you an additional $300 after you return the car for charging fees even though you never agreed to pay them or even were i formed how to address them.Staff also checked the car in later then i dropped off hence the additional 1 hour late fee of $110. With the price they charged I could have put money down in a tesla for buying . Also customer service admitted to not knowing or seeing anywhere in the contract about electric vehicles at all.. actually hung up on me after telling me to expect further charges.. 7 on your side - here I come!

Renting using Budget fastbreak is such a breeze! No long lines to pick up your car. Same as well when you are going to drop off your car. I got an old Honda Civic unit but it runned smoothly as new. Just be mindful to check your rental car for any wear and tear before leaving the facility. Otherwise, I highly recommended this rental company.
