I was lucky enough to enroll in my first ukulele class when Richard Michos was starting a series. Nearly two years later, his Monday night class is always a great start to my week. I learn something every class, have fun and am inspired by Richard's musical virtuosity. Don't know if Richard will begin a new class series, but you can always look into private lessons. (And you're not limited to ukulele with lessons if guitar is your instrument of choice.)

Don't take Ukulele lessons with Richard Michos, he is a big phoney make believe clown that lies and wants to make ends meet

I took a guitar ii course, it taught songs. Some technique but not enough that I would return to the school. The instructor was distant & needed to get through a set curriculum whether or not the students could keep up. One particular omission was a practice guideline of any sort.

I have applied several times. I finally got a note back (4 months later). That note asked if I wanted to work 1 day a week. To pick up a class of beginners who's teacher had quit. I'd probably quit, too. Guitar Center lessons are WAY better.

My first guitar class at Blue Bear was a lot of fun for me. I had a great teacher, Kent Brown, and everyone in the class was better than me. I definitely will continues with Blue Bear.

Attended "school" before covid. Signed up for band classes which were fun a little at first. But peoples ego's eventually ruined it! Its true, it hard to grasp but people think there is a record company contract at stake. I am not exaggerating. Sign up and when people treat you like #!@/, I told you so! Aha and you are out a sum of money. I found myself one time after another in a group of people who have gone toxic or are toxic when you show up. You cannot get out of it due to no refund policy. The "teachers" do nothing to create parody in fact if its a male teacher they will be enamoured if pretty woman are in their class. Who cares if she is a bassist who picks fights and uses a DOD pre amp power pedal to make audience focus on her. When we choose songs to play a woman says "lets do smoke on the water"? Oh great sez I, I can do the guitar solo. The group rapidly changes their minds. You can play at that level sez she? Yes I can. Now you are treated dis respectfully. Openly teased, criticized. You can even hear" expletive you" followed by giggling and the teacher does nothing to address toxic environment. They do not give a damn! I was told to report to an 8 member band in an 80 sq ft room. This is typical. Go ahead , get insulted and have a teacher pretend it did not happen. They do not give a damn!

This review is for Little Bears music classes. I've been taking my daughter to Rachel's classes for almost a year now, and it's one of the best toddler activities I've done with her! Teacher Rachel is really sweet with the kids and is able to keep them engaged by switching up instruments and activities frequently--quite a feat with a room full of toddlers! The kids get to play with different instruments, scarves, teddy bears throughout the class-complete with a relaxing, "sleepy" song at the end to calm anyone who's gotten a little riled up. For parents, I love that they mix in Elvis, Beatles, Jackson 5 etc so you don't have to pretend to enjoy Baby Shark and Wheels On The Bus for 45 minutes ;) They offer a free trial class at multiple locations around the city--I highly recommend it--especially for the 18 months to 2 /12 years age group--great prep for the preschool setting.

Hands down Blue Bear is one of the best places to learn or to teach ever! I loved my time teaching there and the wonderful students and staff. Blue Bear rocks in every way.

Their band workshops are super fun, culminating in a showcase performance in real live venues like the Boom Boom Room.

I strongly recommend Blue Bear band workshops to anyone interested in having a true band experience and improving their musical abilities. We received professional level guidance in rehearsing songs and preparing for a live show at a local club. The instructors I have had are all knowledgeable, supportive and offer their musical expertise in guiding us through our set list. I know I have benefited greatly from my experience with the Blue Bear band workshops.

The first time I contacted Blue Bear, I used their online form to request a phone call to discuss drum lessons for my son. The call was scheduled to take place at 5 PM. The person who called me was very tardy. He apologized - so I let it slide. t the end of our call, he said he would check his lesson availability and get back to me in a day or two. I never heard back from him. I decided to request another phone call through their online form, in hopes of confirming lesson availability. I filled out the form again, but no one ever called. Terrible management and terrible follow through. I would never recommend Blue Bear.
