Your pet's best friend. This store is so delightful - well stocked with quality products - food, toys, all things pet - plus it's bright, cheery, and clean.
Brian was so kind to my mom - who is getting on in years and has vision problems - and walked her through finding just the right food for her finicky emotional support cat.
Bernal Beast always has great window decor and just feels like a friend in the neighborhood.
Classes to keep pets happy and healthy, too!!
Having local small businesses there for you with what you need knits community together.

Lovely neighborhood pet care/food/need store that I think (?) is family owned and run. Whatever. It's just nice to get away from the chains and feel connected to where my money is going. And I think it's going to the neighborhood and the greater good. Well stocked store and they will order something if you need and cannot find it. In the well supplies shelves. Chickens? Rabbits? Cats? And of course, dogs! Just ask! Puppy socials and training classes are offered in house too, for you new parents. And frankly just stop buy to check It out. The store has this log cabin Mendocino vibe. Little hippie-dippie! But lovingly so. Small business at its best.

Favorite pet store in the city. Staff is lovely and when we've needed something specific they have been great with special orders and upfront on when products will be coming in.

I love going to Bernal Beast! The owners are very sweet and it's clean and well-maintained. I want to give a special shout-out to one of the employees that works there. His name is Dillon. I have a 15-year-old cat, whenever I go in with any concerns for her that may help her with giving her pills, not eating or anxieties from hyperthyroidism. He always gives the best advice and the items he recommends always work. He's always patient, sweet, and kind.They are lucky to him and I feel lucky to have someone like him working there so close to my home.Thank you, Dillon, you are the best!

Support small businesses!I shop here for anything my sweet angel babies need or want. The staff is lovely and knowledgeable and I feel welcome every time. They also have pup socials and classes so please check out their site if you're a new pooch parent!

We visited Bernal Beast for the first time, just minutes after adopting our sweet pup, with only the leash we left the shelter with. They were incredibly helpful making us all feel comfortable, giving our little pup treats while she roamed around the store with us. They set us up with everything we needed for a puppy starter kit. Bernal Beast is still a favorite of ours, and although we don't live nearby, we make it a point to come in and get some treats or dog food every couple months. We got one of their holiday bags of treats, and it didn't disappoint on Christmas! We love supporting this small business!

The store is great, but nothing special. The staff is super friendly and they have all different kinds of treats for your four-legged friends. When it comes to training however, that's where the real sparkle is for this place is. Steph and Erika are *incredible*; They are kind and patient as you describe behaviors you're seeing with your pup. They offer their thoughts and plural approaches to get the behavior that you desire. I've really loved working with both of these women and can't speak more highly of them. I can't wait to attend more workshops with them as my little pup matures. It should be noted that when I got my puppy, I really struggled to find trainers that I both liked and *heard* me when I said that I'm a really engaged dog owner and invest a lot of time into training. It's true that you get what you put into it with dogs, and working with Steph and Erika can get you on the right path.

Tried to buy stuff here whenever I could. The staff really cares about animals! And their dog bath in the back is a total lifesaver. Appreciate that they’re part of our Bernal community.
