Tellers at this branch are very lazy and have care less attitude. Very often "don't bother them" type of attitude.Bankers sitting at the desk are very slow. Overly too slow in servicing clients. If you don't have an appointment and just walk in to get help, bankers " always pretend to be busy. " and ignore clients.

I recently opened a credit card, but I never received this credit card. Because the employee who opened it for me incorrectly indicated my address by one digit. Now my credit card is at someone's house. I went to the bank to correct a mistake in the address; the bank could not do anything; I went to two banks. At the first and second banks they gave me a hotline number so that I could call and do it myself, I called the hotline, it also didn’t work to correct the error in the address, in the Bank of America app it doesn’t allow me to manually correct the error, I don’t know what to do, most likely I’ll close the credit card card since Bank of America themselves cannot solve the problem of changing the address.

I am really happy with BoA service at Balboa St. I had an appointment and I showed up 3h later and still Mrs. Hao helped me. She was an excellent professional, we had an issue during the process of opening my Bank account and she was so patient, talking to me and making me feel comfortable during the whole process. Her manager was also very helpful, all the time checking If I was comfortable and very specific informing me about the account details.I really appreciate it.I would recommend !

The wait time is usually very long. Always seem understaffed but with plenty of staff that’s just not covering nor helping. I wouldn’t recommend coming in if you have something major to take care of.

The staff in here are lovely, helpful, kind, thoughtful, and go out of their way to solve any problems. I've been a BofA customer for 30+ years and never been to a better branch

If there was a 1/2 star, then that's what I would give as a review. It took months to finally get my family's problem resolved, but I had to do it on the phone that took almost 90 minutes. We use to have wonderful customer service at the Geary/Masonic Branch, but it has recently been closed due to covid. The Balboa Branch (NOT only this branch) have a bunch of bozos running this organization. Those in the managerial position feel like they're prison wardens. They love throwing their weight around like their sh_t doesn't stink. The people I worked with made me feel like I could not be trusted with my elderly parent's account. I was finally fortunate to be helped by an amazing person named Kevin Wu. But, it took months (literally almost a year) to find him and jumping from branch to branch. I recently went to the bank to follow up with Kevin. Unfortunately, I kept getting the run around that he's not there or out to lunch or in a meeting. I sensed something was not right. The reason being is because my email to him bounced back. Why the cover up? Because he's so professional and un-bozo like? He was modest and spoke with confidence and assurance. There's a gentleman sitting next to Kevin's desk (that I will not name), that speaks so loud that one's privacy is heard throughout the bank. This is not professional in any means. Why can't the bank provide partitions? Geez, your business is everybody's business. How creepy. So, to avoid all the frustrations that I've experienced with BoA, I suggest you bank with Citibank, First Republic or Chase. In my eyes, BoA is in the same drowning league as Wells Fargo. That's my 2 cents and I'm sticking with this story.

My elderly parents bank here. They live in the neighborhood and this has been their bank for almost 40 years. Sadly, the bankers here are either highly incompetent or unethical - or possibly both. On multiple occasions, they have mislead my parents about their accounts here. Giving them false information, as well as giving them the run around, causing multiple visits for my parents until my parents finally asked me for help. And it takes for a severe situation for them to bring me into their financial affairs. I've written many versions of this review over the years. Each time, I've decided to not post my review BUT the last issue pushed me over the edge. I ended up going to the Irving St branch with my parents on a Saturday morning and started the process to resolve the issue. PSA: If you have friends or family that bank at the Balboa St branch, please check in with them and review their bank statements.

Just went here for the first time ever, so no prior experience to compare this to or any beef to grind with anyone. But honestly, these tellers are extraordinarily slow. One female teller spent forever on one client, and then shut her window as soon as she was done and I was next. I am not sure what's going on with this location, or why they are so slow.

The ATM machine ate my card and since it was 5 minutes after close, the employees told me through the locked door there's no way to recover the card from the machine. (As a former BofA employee I know that's not true, most likely they didn't want to help after closing time). I was advised the only thing I could do was order a new card. Thanks a lot 38th and Balboa!

Went to make a straight deposit. The Asian make teller (12:15 PM) told me I needed the entire account number as he could not look it up. I was depositing it on another person's behalf. The last four digits was written on the envelope I handed him. We've been going to other branches and never encountered this problem. All he had to do was look up the name of the account holder and see which account corresponds with the four digits. The teller needs more retraining. He was courteous and had a calm demeanor however.

The tellers at this location are particularly racist. I came in to cash a check and the first thing they asked was if I had already deposited it somewhere else. Really? No "hi, how are you?" just an immediate assumption. Then the teller muttered something about the date on the check being written incorrectly when it had obviously been written from the previous week. They would not help me so I took my check elsewhere. If you are darker than a paper bag, they will treat you like you have done something wrong.

Yikes! Is this a poorly run BofA branch. There’s hasn’t been a time I’ve come in where I could get in and out in less than 30 minutes or so. The branch manager seems to roam, while the tellers and bankers spend a gratuitous amount of time on each customer. This means if you walk in with a person or two in front of you - be prepared to be there awhile!Basic requests, such as ordering checks or buying a cashier check can take upwards of 15-20 minutes once you finally reach the end of the line. I feel terrible when those who line up behind me think I’m opening 3 bank accounts and wiring international funds because of how long I stand at the teller...I live around the corner - but will gladly go out of the way to the branch a mile away (on Geary) to save time, energy, and temperament.
