Beautiful scenery of small shops, marina, ocean view of the city of San Francisco. We enjoyed a nice walk and taking photos of the boats, ocean and one another. A treat.

An upscale touristy place, but it really does boast stunning views along the boardwalk! Enjoy the view of Sausalito, and also the view of SF across the water. It gets very busy here, so beware of traffic on the road, and tourists crowding the sidewalk. There are tons of tourists gift shops, ice cream stores, and restaurants. Great to come to see the sunset over the water.

Sausalito, a city perched gracefully by the bay, is nothing short of a visual masterpiece. The breathtaking views of the Bay and the distant San Francisco skyline create a picturesque setting that lingers in the memory. As you navigate its streets, Sausalito reveals itself as a haven for both gastronomic delights and boutique treasures. The restaurants offer a culinary journey, while the boutiques beckon with unique finds. What strikes most is the friendly ambiance fostered by the city's residents. Welcoming and warm, the people of Sausalito contribute to the overall charm, making visitors feel like cherished guests. The architectural beauty of the homes, seemingly timeless, adds another layer to the visual feast. Each stroll through the city feels like a rediscovery, with the buildings standing as testaments to human artistry harmonizing with the surrounding waters. Sausalito is not just a city; it's an immersive experience of beauty where nature and man-made wonders coalesce seamlessly. The play of light on the bay, the vibrant hues of San Francisco across the waters, and the friendliness of its inhabitants collectively make Sausalito a destination that captivates both the eyes and the heart. It's a place where every moment feels like a new discovery in a symphony of visual and cultural richness. We might just see each other in passing when you visit this heavenly city!!!

This is a very nice small town. Beautiful sea, long coastal and lush plants, all in blue and green, look so healthy, strong and charming. Our whole family had a very good time here, enjoying the energetic and peaceful vibes.

I considered Sausalito kinda like the Malibu of the North -- it is located adjacent to San Francisco but has completely different vibes than the city. It has magnificent views and it definitely feels calmer than SF in many different ways. It looks like Sausalito is much more elite and "classy" so you can come here if you want to escape the city. There aren't beaches like Malibu, but the vibes are very calming and I felt very healing when I was here. The views are just really nice and you can hear the calm ocean wave breathing at you. We only stopped here for a brief moment but next time I'm in Northern California, I definitely want to do my stay here. Sausalito is absolutely amazing and I'm grateful that I was able to stop by here!

One of the prettiest towns in the Bay Area. It's like a mini version California Amalfi coast (but of coz I like the coastline in Italy much more). We walked around the shopping Sausalito downtown and checked out some cute and unique boutiques. The broad walk was fun to walk around with shops, pier and famous restaurants.

We saw some folks playing volleyball while we we sitting on the beach and they invited us to play...and the rest is new friends and toast to a good time. See ya later SanFran

Downtown Sausalito is a nice place for a short evening stroll. Parking was a little difficult on the weekend - Parking Lot 1 was full, Parking Lot 2 was only for customers of something, so we went to Parking Lot 3. It was $25 for holiday parking, but pro tip, pay hourly through the ParkMobile app so it's cheaper. The houses on the hill are a nice site, definitely reminded me of Italy. The views of the water are very nice as well. There seemed to be a few good restaurants and ice cream shops, but none that particularly piqued my interest. Lappert's ice cream is famous, and it was good. Their coffee ice cream does taste like real coffee. Not necessarily a place you have to go to when you go to SF, but it's a cute town (or street I should say).

We lived in the Marin County for 11 months, in the mid 70's, and not once we visited Sausalito. This week, we finally did, we have a week in S.F. We were able to find a shady parking spot. Did our Boardwalk to the marina, then we crossed the street to the shops. Then we came back. But, the view from across the bay to S.F. was breathtaking, the weather just so PERFECT, and it's getting close to dinner, I didn't want to walk back, not having some dinner. We couldn't find tables, but I found a bench, facing the view of S.F. Hubby went to order pizza, the restaurant mentioned they will stop serving after us. We were just lucky to have our orders in, we didn't know they're closing for the day. The family of 3 were about done with their meal, it's a big party cramped in a small table (extra chairs), and they moved us there. Sausalito, is a beautiful, friendly, lots of shops, and we both enjoyed our almost 2 hours there. You can't stay in S.F. without a short trip to Sausalito, on your last day on earth! Even ONCE!

Years back I visited a friend who lived in San Francisco and she took me on a drive to Muir Woods. We stopped in Sausalito for lunch and I always look back and remember how much I enjoyed my stop here. It's such a great little town and is located only a few miles north of SF. They have cute storefront shops to visit and nice little cafes to eat at. From a distance, you can see all the houses stacked together on Sausalito's many hills. There are also a lot of houseboats on the north end. If you walk along the harbor sidewalk, you get some great views of San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge. I recently rode my bike from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito and back. There is a bike trail along the bridge that takes you right into town. It was nice to make a brief return visit to this city and grab a quick bite before I headed back.

A good place to stroll and check on local sites and Restaurant. As you walk ..You'll see San Francisco on the background. Id recommend this to people visiting in San Francisco. Either you Take the Ferry? ( catch it on Pier 44 or Pier 1) Drive through Golden Gate or take the Golden Gate Bus.

Always feels like I'm taking a stroll in Italy, Paris, and London all in a couple blocks. I love the cute storefronts and the parallel blocks that make it super walkable & bicycle friendly. There's cafes, ice cream/gelato, local businesses sprinkled throughout on the main street area. I also love walking by the water and enjoying the view. I generally park alongside the water where there is no metered parking (so free!). A beautiful place to stroll with friends/family/SO or just to take a breather from the fast pace of life.

It's one of those small sorta-hidden towns to visit. It almost felt like being in another country, similar to a small coastal town in Europe, perhaps. We ended up in this picturesque place since Hubbers chose to have his birthday lunch at one of the restaurants settled along the shore. We got to walk around a bit after our scrumptious meal and got to check out a bunch of stores along the shore. There were some very interesting shops and buys, but many stores cater mostly to tourists. It was a cold, windy but clear skied Saturday. For an off-peak season, there were a lot of people up and around. Although there was a crowd, people were very mindful of keeping their masks on and keeping their distance. It really is a beautiful place to walk around in. The views are spectacular. We plan on coming up for another visit maybe during warmer weather.

Sausalito is a nice, small city to visit for a change of scenery! You can walk along a waterfront or go around looking at stores and food places. There arent any particular places I found extremely unique for me but I enjoyed spending the day there to walk around. If you're nearby and just want to visit a new place or escape your current city, stop by here for a day!
