$94 to shred 50lb of paper. And that's after 5% discount because of the weight of the boxes. Ridiculous. Save your money and go to Home Depot. You will pay a third of this.

A few years ago the previous owner was at least open on Saturdays. Then this current character took over, immediately (almost) doubled mailbox rates. Then he got rid of several old employees- one of them was in the middle of chemotherapy and she needed health insurance. Three former patrons/colleagues and I did our best to locate Debby to help her out, to no avail.
Now it costs nearly $400 a year to rent a box here; it’s not worth it at all. First off it’s tremendously difficult to find parking during business hours, secondly for those of us who work or travel M-F it’s impossible to get mail on weekends because he’s now closed on BOTH Saturday & Sunday! Some sound business judgement right here.
Word of advice: rent a box in the peninsula if you don’t get critical/time sensitive work-related snail mail. I travel to the east bay a lot and got a box near San Leandro for $200 a year; I check it every two weeks when I have to go there anyway, and they’re even open on Saturdays!

My partner and I were looking for a local notary for our domestic partner paperwork, and after calling the Balboa Business Center to confirm that the service was available that day and confirming, I ended up calling again to ask if they also were able to do passport photos, as I happened to need new photos to renew my passport! It turned out that they did, and the store owner said they'd have the photos done while doing the paperwork that we needed notarized! Great! The owner and staff are incredibly friendly! The owner thoroughly explained how the paperwork was to be filled out, and how to send it in! The cost of notarized signature was more than fair, and we were happy to pay the $15 per signature (twice, just in case) as well as the $15 passport photo! Everything was incredibly smooth and easy, and I couldn't recommend the Balboa Business Center with more enthusiasm, I'm maxxed out! They're just awesome! 11/10! Also worth mentioning: there was a bit of a que when we first arrived, but within two or three minutes the other customers were sorted and we were helped! Truly an incredibly business, and the owner answered our questions thoroughly, answering that he'd lost count of how many years he'd been there when we asked how long he'd had his shop! We love a small business thriving in a big city! We don't live particularly close (not far either, but there are closer places) but we'll drive to come back here whenever possible!!

Went out of their way to contact me when I had mistakenly had a package shipped there. Longtime staple of the neighborhood that provides value. Friendly & helpful attitude.

Went in to mail a simple one page document overseas and was met with a sigh and "It's a pain in the ass to fill out the forms." Really? I thought that was the job. And I have to fill out forms too so... It's also a pain to find another mail service to use because a business mail center can't send one document overseas (wtf?). It's done daily by everybody else. As I'm about to do with another local business. At least put a sign on the door stating NO INTERNATIONAL SERVICE BECAUSE PAIN IN THE ASS. Will never return.

The shipping service is reliable and having notary on-site is very useful. You need to pay $1 for the USPS drop off.

We have lived in this neighborhood for years and we used to rent videos, etc from the previous owner, he was so nice and we loved this place. Now, the owner is so rude and obnoxious. He wanted a dollar for a small piece of tape and also wanted a dollar for me to drop off a package being picked up by the post office! Some people don’t understand the meaning of customer service. This owner will never get a penny from me. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS.

I've read all the reviews and don't get the negativity. I've been coming to this location for years and believe it provides a valuable service to the area. I have all my packages delivered here and for a small fee I know my package won't get stolen. I also sometimes go here when I want to avoid standing in line at the post office. Or if I want to buy a N95 mask. Or if I want to print something. I'll keep coming here to support this local business no matter what anyone else says.
