Misia and Sue ARE LITERALLY LIFE SAVERS!!! It was the night before my wedding and as I was steaming my dress, I found a little bit of a loose thread/rip in the front of my dress and they were about to close but were SO sweet and told me to come on by. LITERALLY ANGELS!!
And when I say they saved me, I mean, they SAVED ME!! Cause I needed to be at city hall by 8am the next morning. Then Sue found that other pieces in the front (similar to what had broken) that literally were also needing to be re-enforced or else it would happen all over again.
Also, my veil was completely wrinkled from my flight over here and they also took care of that for me as well!
While I waited, I learned about their hand detailing and process. Misia went into detail about the care they take with EACH dress and I just couldn't believe how meticulous they can be!
The place can be a little hard to find but they're nestled between Frascati and Luxe Places International Realty.
I highly recommend them, especially for their superb attention to detail. I wish I lived in San Francisco to have dresses done by them. Actually I might come back because they are starting to do custom wardrobe and if I had more time in SF, I wish I could shop.
The sweetest mom/daughter who the highest attention to detail. I absolutely recommend them!!!!!

If you're not "sample size" (ie: size 0-2), don't bother coming here. I visited this bridal shop a few years ago as a size 6, D cup and was actually ASKED if I planned on dieting before my wedding to "lose a few inches in the middle". I was reminded repeatedly that they didn't typically make dresses in my size.
I read review after review of tiny size 2 women getting the princess treatment here, but let me tell you they won't even ask if you want water if you're a TREMENDOUS size 6!
When I emailed them after the fact to tell them how disturbing the experience was, Suzanne completely disregarded my feelings and said that she was "sorry sample sizes didn't fit me".
I ordered a dress online having never wanted to experience a bridal fitting again after this nightmare hellscape.
Go elsewhere. You can get the same dress from someone who is actually a good human.

They have beautiful things but don’t expect to be treated nicely, especially if you’re evidently not a white American. The owner agreed to take a look at my dress (for 50 dollars, no less) and was rather rude after she heard my accent. She and her employers kept asking me where the wedding I suppose to attend would be and where do I live, which was also very uncomfortable.

Suzanne is amazing. From the moment I walked into her shop, she was collaborative and put me at ease. She listened to what I had in mind, made suggestions and worked with me to come up with a design that I liked and would be flattering. After trying on a lot of expensive "crap" in other places, made cheaply and with poor quality materials, I'm so glad I found Suzanne. The dress was beautifully constructed and fit me perfectly!

I just bought a few of Suzanne's gorgeous masks. Having one that beautiful to wear helps make this time a little easier and boosts my mood!

Suzanne has the most beautiful collection of gowns to pick and choose from or design your own from the bottom up. The dress she made for me was an absolute smash at our wedding - I had friends raving for days! - and the materials she uses are only the lightest, best, most comfortable silks and lace. Would 100% recommend for any bride, or someone looking to make the dress of their dreams

There are not enough words to express my pure gratitude and appreciation for Sue, her artistic talent and genuine compassion for her brides. My experience at Atelier Des Modistes was nothing short of a miracle - I came to Sue one month before my wedding, carrying a dress that had been nipped and tucked by countless SF seamstresses who couldn't take on the level of alterations that the dress required. Despite the time crunch and difficulty = of work that needed to be done, Sue met with me every single day until the dress was finished to ensure every detail was addressed, and most importantly that I'd be truly happy on my wedding day. The result was unimaginable - Sue created the dress of my dreams! I'm forever grateful and could not recommend Sue enough - we should all be so lucky to have the gift of working with a fairy godmother on our wedding dress! THANK YOU SUE! Xoxo

Suzanne helped me design my dream wedding dress(es) and I felt like a princess on my wedding day!! I say dresses, because I wanted a ballgown with a veil and a train, and I also wanted a slimmer dress for the reception, and Suzanne made me a dress that gave me all 3 looks! We started with the Celeste (with a beautiful gold lace top) and she designed an intricate system to attach the ballgown, then the train, and a bow around the waist that could all be removed for the reception. She carefully crafted the dress with nuanced layered shades of champagne, blush and ivory in the ballgown to look stunning against the red rocks of Sedona. Suzanne helped me design my entire outfit - I ended up purchasing gold wedges, a necklace, a matching veil, and hair accessories from her, too. And she gave me recommendations for my bouquet as well. It was a pleasure working with Suzanne - she is so warm, has an amazing eye, an impressive attention to detail, tons of expertise, and she cares deeply about her work. I loved hearing about where the lace, the ribbon came from. I will miss my wedding dress appointments with Suzanne, but will go back to her next time I need a ballgown!

Suzanne was wonderful! I have an antique Belgian lace veil of my great grandmothers that needed repair and restyling - she was the perfect person for the job!! The veil came out in perfect shape, looks like new. She has a shop filled with beautiful things, and I ended up getting a comb for my hair for the big day as well. The whole experience was so refreshing and unfussy, totally recommend coming here for any of your wedding attire needs!
