Great hotel and great location. Tenzin and the staff were great. Our server Juan Carlos (aka JC) was amazing and our bartender Jason was great. The food was outstanding as were the views.
Rooms: Well maintained and great views.
Food & drinks: You will want to start your day with JC at the Blue Mermaid and end your day with Jason at the bar.

Very nice hotel with amazing rooms and super convenient location. Services were awesome and the food and drinks were great at Blue Mermaid (onsite restaurant and bar). Loved the ability to just walk up the hill and get to the Ghirardelli Square. On the other side was the fisherman’s wharf. So you cannot beat its location with any other.

Tired hotel in need of investment and avoid dust in run down area. Really disappointed.
Rooms: Dusty, dark and noisy.

Excellent location, excellent service. We walked to everything. Don’t bring a rental car, you won’t need it and it adds $75 a day to the bill.

Brilliant boutique hotel in great location to visit San Francisco's popular sites
Rooms: Very well laid out and spacious rooms
Nearby activities: Pier 39 and Pier 33 for Alcatraz ferry, bike rental and tours. There is also a swimming club and small public beach nearby for those brave enough to face the Pacific refreshing waters!
Safety: Area near the hotel felt very safe
Walkability: Great location. Easy walks to Piers 39 and 33 (Alcatraz), Ferry terminal, North Beach, etc
Food & drinks: Great on site restaurant offering local specialities

robes should be in the closet...regardless
of whether customer is requesting them or not.
Trader Joe's snacks could be complimentary.
Or at least, buy snacks that are less harmful, and more healthy.

Lived in SF about 8 years since 2004. This hotel is the top of my list for its combination of location, style and service. Maybe I'm a sucker for nautical themes but it just captures an inviting feel so well, hard to think of anything that could be better. Even the staff uniforms are denim and blue, fishing style. Its cool.
The mermaid restaurant has a great menu, opens at 7am for breakfast and has awesome staff.
Shout out to Conner at the bar for excellent service this morning!
Made for a fantastic start to my first return visit to San Francisco since you-know-what.

Beautiful hotel right on the bay. Great staff! Highly recommend! We stumbled on this by accident and it was the best night of our week stay in SF.

Super noisy mini fridge, poor bath pressure, dated and small bathtub no shower, lackluster TV without cast, no usb charging ports, cold room on arrival, $5 per room water bottle, thin non-soundproof room walls ... I can't understand why this hotel has 4.5 stars currently

Great location, great customer service. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room, a fan in the bathroom and an additional towel bar, but other than that, great place!
Rooms: The rooms were spacious and very nice with a nautical theme.
Walkability: It was within walking distance of everything. Fisherman's Wharf right down the street. Shopping and restaurants galore.
