Came in shopping for leather jackets. None of the jackets on the floor were above a size 6, so I made the mistake of asking the saleswoman, whose name I unfortunately did not get but she had dry, bleached blonde hair, if there were any larger sizes (as in, above a size 6 not “plus sizes”). She looked me up and down and then said they ONLY made up to a size 10, but there were brands downstairs that made 12s and 14s. At no point did I say my dress size and I do happen to fit a size 10 rather comfortably from most brands. She then proceeded to say that I might fit into some of the more oversized styles but not the more slim cut ones. She then proceeded to point out which were slim fit jackets, the ones she believed I would not fit, going “yeah these are all gonna be too slim”. Overall it was a very strange, deeply offensive, and deeply uncomfortable experience. If you are over a size 6, go elsewhere or risk being fat shamed. Also, even if I were too big for their clothing her behavior was completely inappropriate.
