I made a reservation for a vehicle at Alamo (two months in advance) at the San Francisco branch located in Fisherman’s Warf. On October 24, 2023, at the scheduled time, I attended this branch.Unfortunately, from the beginning we were very unwelcome at the service desk. We were treated with disdain, in a rude and unfriendly way. We were treated with grumbling and impatience throughout practically the entire service, with employees speaking as quickly as possible so that it was impossible to understand a single word of what was said. Only to receive that disapproving look if you asked for the courtesy of repeating what had been said. Anyway, professionalism and cordiality are expected, but no one is obliged to smile at customers at 8:30 in the morning, especially when they clearly hate their job.The biggest issue was when they began to doubt about the authenticity of my license and compare it to my wife's, even though I had been an Alamo customer for almost 15 years. The person who served us was extremely rude. When I noticed her confusion, I tried to explain that the license models were different because the format and layout of the document had undergone an update in my country of origin, and my license was the old model and my wife's was the new model. Unfortunately, she didn't give me the chance to clarify what had happened, ignoring any attempt I made to clarify the situation and just continuing to talk to her colleague next door. Finally, after a thorough and detailed inspection of my 30+ year old drivers license, Alamo employees decided that my documents were real, and I was capable of driving a car. There is no problem in checking clients' documents, in fact that is what is expected. But this doesn't need to be done in such an inappropriate way as it was done, arguing with her colleague about my suitability, as if I weren't standing in front of her. This treatment made me want to go to the Hertz store two blocks away. As I didn't give any reason for being so poorly served, I can only imagine that this employee has some type of prejudice towards customers from certain countries.When collecting the vehicle, we were well attended by a very polite and friendly lady, however, as has happened on other occasions when I rented cars from Alamo, the car I had reserved was not available. In this case, not even the similar one was available. I received an upgrade to a more luxurious car, but much smaller than the one I had reserved. This ended up causing me inconvenience because I booked a large car and received a small car, and I had lots of suitcases. As the trunk was very small, I was forced to leave lots of things in the back seat of the car, which is very dangerous in San Francisco.Anyway, it would be great if Alamo started training their employees better, so maybe they would start to be a little more friendly when serving their customers, especially foreigners visiting the US, as unfortunately this is not the first time that I am mistreated at an Alamo counter. And finally, I hope to one day get the car I reserved, at least a similar one. There is no point in pushing a bigger or more luxurious car if that car does not meet the customer's needs.

Lovely lady on the top floor of the garage showed me the car. Toyota Highlander with a V6 engine. Too big for us really but it was very comfortable. A little thirsty even though I drove like saint for most of our trip.

I wouldn’t normally review a car rental company. I am used to renting in Spain and Europe and it’s always a battle about the additional charges and the same on return. However my experience here was very different. Keana who served me was really helpful and polite. There was no messing about, showed my passport, sent me upstairs, signed a form and got the car. All charges were included, the car was as described. Also note the return at LAX equally as easy

We rented a luxury vehicle from Alamo and were satisfied when we were presented a vehicle which fits that description.Still, there were simply little to none vehicles on the lot and if our vehicle wouldn't have been there it would have gone interesting.If you can rent at SFO Airport, do it because the chance of getting the right car is better.Still, I can't say anything bad about this location and I'm glad it all worked out because a nice car is Essential for a good Roadtrip

Our Alamo rental car broke down close to the Fisherman's Wharf rental location. We went to the station for help and all the employees where very friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Keana who went above and beyond to make sure we could get back on the road as soon as possible.

We rented a car for eight days online from alamo , with pickup at Fisherman's Wharf. When we arrived at the branch, Gabriela received us nicely, but the selection of vehicles was poor and we did not receive the vehicle we ordered through the Internet. In our opinion, what we received is not equal to the car we paid for. I do not recommend picking up vehicles from this branch, we left disappointed.

Everything great. But please change the sign for the after hours return drop box. It is NOT right of the main office entrance. There is nothing next to the office entrances. It is inside the garage on the left behind the wall. I searched for quite some time?

I rented a car from Alamo for 2 weeks. From San Francisco agency and returned it in Los Angeles.Car was great and the service amazing. Returning the car at the aéroport only took few minutes. I highly recommend

Alamo is still my favorite Car rental services.I had a couple of cars from alamo now and never had any problems. It's always super easy and to get and to return the car. It usually just takes a couple of minutes to do both which is super handy.The stuff was always super friendly and they never tried to sell us any overpriced insurances (like many other car rentals).For me Alamo was one of the cheapest like every time. So best service and best price! :)Until now I always got the car I wanted or even a better one. Also I never had any issues with the car. They were always in a perfect condition.I will continue using Alamo

Nice people. Brought the car back heren. The only problem is i fotgot my dashcam in the armest. I called the next morning to go check if its there. When i came by they did not xheck yet. We went to the car and the dashcam was gone. Nobody knows where it was , i should check under the bed of my hotelroom they said. Guess what? I did that twice . I'm 100 procent sure it was in the armest. I put it there when i took of the Window a half hour earlier. Not gonna rent again frim Alamo. If you cant be honoust. Gt an e mail from costumerservice. They asked me to send an e mail. I did told the whole problem again, they forwarted the mail to Fishermanswharf, but 1 month later and still no repley.

Over 2 hours and still waiting for our car. Can't fault the staff as they are going as quickly as possible, but there needs to be a better system in place so that cars are ready for people during peak times. Or more staff to get the cars ready.
