Had a great experience picking up the vehicle in Fisherman’s Wharf and returning it at San Francisco Airport. My bill was completed fast and accurately. The rental was clean, reliable and fun to drive.

Excellent service, both at the counter and the girl who gave us the car, super friendly!?
No surprises in the rental price.
They retain 300 dollars (in about 10 days they will return it to the card)
It is about 300 meters from the tourist area of the port (calculate carefully since parking is expensive in that area, around 15 or 20 dollars, better to pick it up if you are already leaving ?)
They will ask you:
Driving license
Reservation credit card
passport
To say that they didn't ask me for the international card, but I suppose it's in case the police stop you.
I booked it directly on the Alamo website, from the research I carried out over several days it is the clearest rent a car with the rental terms, insurance and costs.
Fixed price without movies at pickup time.
What I paid online was exactly what they charged me ??
I added additional road insurance online since we would do many km, but it is optional, both car insurance (damage to the car and damage to third parties) are included in the price, it does not include undercarriage, upholstery (as in any rent a car)
I returned it to another branch in Los Angeles without problems and they were also very friendly
If you go to other branches, they will give you a full tank.
I think I understood that they could deliver it with half a deposit, etc. and you return it the same as it was delivered to you (I'm not entirely clear about this).
This branch is highly recommended and Álamo has fulfilled what was contracted

Really rude and bad service.
Would not give us a prepaid rental car because I was planning to drive, so presented a driver’s license but a physical credit card was my wife’s (same last name..). She didn’t bring her driver’s license because she didn’t plan to drive.
So no apple pay, not cash, no online credit card deposits.
Hertz gave us a car with no problem

We have booked with Alamo many times and have only had good experiences so far. This branch at Fishermans Wharf seems to be the big negative exception!! As always, we booked directly with Alamo, without any intermediaries. The location was ideal for us as we stayed at the Hotel Zephyr for the first few days and only then started our rental car tour. There were 2 employees on site. 3 people were in line ahead of us. When it was our turn, we were first asked to scan a QR code and use it to check ourselves in. Apparently this was not technically possible. Probably because we come from Europe. I now had to enter all my details into a form using a ballpoint pen, even though I had already done this online when booking. Our data should also already be stored from a rental from last year in Florida. After I had filled out everything, the annoyed employee asked me to get back in line at the end of the line! How come? But since I didn't want to make a scene, I did. When it was my turn again, I continued to be treated as if I was receiving a free service. No friendliness like you are used to in the USA. Again the employee failed to complete our booking and handed our case to her supervisor/boss who was sitting to her left. Again we had to wait. The boss then finished our papers relatively quickly, but also somewhat listlessly. Then we took the elevator to the parking level. The staff here were in a good mood. However, we were only given a smaller category of car than we had booked and paid for. Luckily my husband noticed this and complained about it. We were then led to a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The car was quite new, but the inside was completely sticky and dirty. I asked for cleaning wipes. The employee was clearly embarrassed by this because he now saw how disgusting it was on the inside and he then wiped it down a bit roughly himself and gave me a handful of more cleaning cloths. Unfortunately there was no other clean car available.

We rented the rental car for our tour through various national parks to Las Vegas through the ADAC in Germany and were super satisfied! We didn't have to wait at all when we picked it up in the morning. Very very friendly staff! It was emphasized several times (without asking) that we only had to pay for the child seats separately and no other insurance or anything like that was "forced" on us. Very pleasant! Everything was done quickly and when we arrived at the upper parking level, our rental car was standing in front of us with the doors open, ready to go. Great! There was also a very nice employee here who, upon request, exchanged the booster seat for a real child seat. The car corresponded to the category we booked and, fortunately for us, was exactly the model we had hoped for. The car was very new and made the entire tour without any problems (even in the heat).
Returning the car in Las Vegas was more than uncomplicated and was completed in two minutes: parked the car - handed over the keys - the employee's question as to whether everything was OK was answered with an enthusiastic "yes" - and then it was just "Thank you, have a good one!"
Alamo again and again in the USA!!!!

I didn't rent from this location, but I returned my Alamo car rental at this location. To return the car, you would drive up to the top floor of the parking garage, they have signs all the way, displayed very clearly, so just follow the sign/instructions. Then there are spots marked for car returned. As soon as I parked at a spot, an employee approached me and start doing the inspection. The returned processed took ~1-2 minutes. Very hassle free! Then I got the email receipt right away with no any additional surcharge! Love this quick return process. Would use this facility again!
I used the bay area toll bridge, but I pre-registered the license plate on Bay Area FasTrak website, and indicate the start and end time of when I'll be using the toll bridge/road, the toll charge appears in my credit card account after ~5 days, so I expect I won't receive any additional charge from Alamo for toll. Totally would recommend anyone planning on using the roll in the bay area to pre-register the license plate Bay Area FasTrak website!

Read a few negative reviews and was a little nervous. My experience was the polar opposite, super friendly staff, great service at a busy time of day with a lot of different nationalities picking up cars, will defo use again

Returning our rental car to Alamo at Fishermans’s Wharf went smoothly. On the top floor of the parking garage, a friendly employee from the car rental company took over the vehicle and issued the return receipt. The car accompanied us reliably during our three-week tour. We at Alamo believe that the subsequent billing of toll routes is fair.
