I recently brought my dog to this clinic for an appointment, but despite having a scheduled time, we waited 45 minutes to be seen. When we finally met the vet, he appeared tired and didn’t make much effort to address my dog’s needs. My dog is sensitive, and I specifically went in to have her eyes cleaned by a professional. Unfortunately, they couldn’t perform the cleaning.
I was charged $35 for the visit, during which they didn’t even take her temperature accurately or give her a basic check-up, plus an additional $25 for a brief 5-second eye check. My main concern—the eye cleaning—was left unresolved. On a previous visit, another vet took the time to carefully help my dog with the same issue. This time, however, they suggested anesthesia just for an eye cleaning and recommended some medications instead.
I believe it would make more sense to address the current issue with my dog before resorting to medications, which is exactly why I brought her in. I’m very disappointed with this experience.

Unfortunately, I’m very disappointed and will not EVER go back. Customer service was very unknowable of what type of appointment I’ve scheduled, even after my name populated on their computer. I had an appointment and still had to wait an hour, watching walk-ins go before us because they arrived before us. The veterinarian had zero feed back. So I’m hoping my fur baby is healthy and we’re on the right path.

I had went earlier this week and was shocked at how no one could do their job correctly. The final straw was when I removed my dogs bandages and saw they CUT his UPPER LEG when they were only suppose to be working on the paw. When I was there the tech told me multiple times I have a good girl even though I only came in with one male dog. Then he continued to call him a girl and wrapped him in the hot pink bandages. Maybe he thought that due to the receptionist writing a DIFFERENT NAME on his FILES and medication even though I wrote his name clearly on all the paperwork. Anyways I would not return again!

Have been taking my dogs here for over 10 years and I love this hospital. It's affordable, and they truly care about the well being of animals.

Place is a complete joke, will do anything to get any sort of money out of you. My mom went a few months back our because our dog was sick. They did X-rays on him and found tumors in his stomach. Told my mom was gonna be about 5k to do surgery and if they couldn't remove them they were gonna put him to sleep. My mom came back with disbelief and in shock and in tears for our poor dog. I ended up taking him to a vet in TJ and they were able to medicate him and treat his tumors surgery free. Now he's happy and full of life again. Save your troubles and don't come here they will scare you into paying for surgeries and pressure you to do them ASAP. Oh and they don't hesitate to put your dogs to sleep.

They don't help your pet when it comes to pain management. They think everyone is a drug addict and are not going to help with that my suggestion ids go to another pet hospital don't use this one. Plus even if you have an appointment the walk in get first priority not people with appointments

This place is just out for your money be careful.
Originally brought my dog in for an emergency Pyometra Surgery,
which was completed.. pricing was a bit high but i needed to get it done so i did.... with that said, that was my only good interaction with them.... they try and get you to pay and haggle you for everything else.. they do not care about a pets health all they care about is making money.... after i paid over $2.5k for the surgery they advise me need to bring her back for a quick follow up..
the follow up was not covered and i had to pay extra for them just to look at her and say everything is ok.. they then started to find any little scab/ bump and try to instill fear in you making it seem like it can potentially be dangerous and bad for your dogs health... just to get you to try and pay for all these test which i denied...now today i had ordered an online prescription for Animax, a simple cream for interdigital cyst.. a pretty common thing that happens to bull dogs.... Chewy had asked for them to simply approve the prescription so they could ship it out to me...of course, they would not approve it and want me to go in and pay again, for them just to look at it again and say yes..
i mentioned i do not have money and they said well they cannot approve it... they simply do not care about a pets well being, they care more about lining their pockets... i was not asking nothing from them other than a simple approval....
stay away..

Doctor would not even touch my dog, check his breathing or even his temperature. Said he looks really bad and should take him to a 24 hour hospital. He left exam room quickly to see another patient:

My initial encounter with San Fernando Pet Hospital on Truman was positive many years ago. However, my recent visit with a foster pup for urgent care was quite negative. From the receptionist to the veterinarians, the experience was disappointing. Despite attending to the pup's needs, I was repeatedly kept waiting unnecessarily, while others came and went. Although we appreciated being accommodated as walk-ins, the suggested procedure, including unnecessary anesthesia and unwarranted tests, were excessive, bringing the estimated cost for the visit close to $500. Thankfully I did not return and sought care elsewhere. The comprehensive treatment and plus medication elsewhere cost less than $150 and the staff and veterinarians were fantastic (not pushing unnecessary tests and procedures). With this I will end, that while others may have had a positive experience with Truman vets, I did not, nor did my foster pup, and I will never return nor recommend San Fernando Pet Hospital.
