I recently had an issue with my leaking pool heater. I've let it go for months due to lack of experience and fear of creating a BIGGER problem. I called Ace Hardware in San Dimas and was welcomed (on the phone) so nicely by Rita.
Rita and Jess were TRULY amazing. They not only immediately directed to the location of the item that I needed, but Jess stayed with me until I found the proper part I needed that would have been a COSTLY POOL REPAIR.

If you are ever visiting the Antique Row/Bank of America etc., on Bonita and you need a bulb or some candy, something to drink or just anything you feel you can get from a hardware store... remember ACE is right on the corner. The service was welcoming. The store is larger than you would think. It has been in this same location for over 30 years. The prices are standard. There is parking on lots in the rear and on the street.

I have been going to this location for years. I have always had great service. La Verne does not have a hardware store, so I now go here.

Fine example of a nostalgic small-town hardware store in rustic downtown San Dimas, CA. Pegboard shelves and backers, and no 50-feet-tall towers of merchandise. Narrow aisles can be tricky to navigate for customers using wheelchairs or scooters. Tanner (up front) and everyone else was friendly and helpful—except one. A middle-age white male worker whose normal speaking voice is LOUD couldn’t be bothered to say “excuse me,” “sir” or “please” when he wanted to roll his goods past me near closing time. This customer was apparently just an obstacle in his way, and he forgot who he was. With some frequent retraining, he should come around. Check this place out, even if only for nostalgia’s sake! Oh, and download the Ace Hardware app for discounts and offers.

I’ve purchased at San Dimas Ace many times over the years. I regret to say it hasn’t always been my first stop, but it should have been. Yesterday I went to both big box stores in the area looking for a special furniture nut that was missing on a chair I was reupholstering and left empty handed. I stopped at SDA near closing time and was immediately helped to find just what I was looking for. I have had this scenario happen many times before. Prices might be a little higher, but gas for trips to places that don’t have what you need with people that can’t help you is more expensive. SDA sells knowledge with their products. Priceless!
