Worst experience ever. After having a flat tire we had to fight for five days to get our stuff back with passports and important Medication. They always told us, they would help us, but nothing. And at the end after a long fight we got our stuff back and 15% of the price we paid for the Trip. That was a true insult. Never again, and the costumer Service is really terrible.

Charged me for a background check, got rejected, and they would not tell me why despite asking on multiple emails. Feels like I got scammed. How is this legal?

Useless when you have a problem We had a bursted tire on the freeway, the car locked itself and we couldn't take our stuffs from the trunk (including vitally necessary medications). It happened Friday, we are Monday night and the situation didn't improve, we call then since Friday night and nothing move.I'm currently risking my life because I don't have my meds but they don't care. They don't even know where the car is.

Worst company ever. We rented a car on friday. A tyre burst and we had to call them for hours. They said they would send someone to help us open the car but nobody showed up. The towing company left because the car was closed, because we do not have an acual key. We had to leave the car at the freeway - where the car still is - three days after the problem. We talked to zipcar for now 11 hours (friday, saturday, sunday and monday) and they did nothing. They said that the company towed the car, which is obviously not true, we even called the towing company. Our things are in the car and we can not get them out. It is so incredible how incompetent even the "supervisors" are.

A few years ago my company offered free Zipcar membership. I have never used Zipcar since I signed up, not once. All of a sudden they sent me a bill for $96 for "Zipcar Membership" I tried to cancel and get a refund since I have NEVER used their rental cars, nor do I have any intention to use their rental cars. They force you to pay the $96 for canceling your membership. If you don't pay up a membership you are not going to be able to use, they threaten to take you to collections. This is EXTORTION!! Avoid Zipcar they are a horrible company!

There are only cars near campus. I was hoping to take the train up to Orange County and LA but could never get a car at or near the stations anywhere. The customer service is totally unresponsive . The one trip I did take was in a filthy car that smelled so bad I couldn't have the windows up and needed to shower immediately after. I waited on hold for hours with customer service reps, all saying that I would be refunded and it's been over a month and I still haven't seen a single correspondence. The customer service reps are all very nice, they just can't actually do anything for you, I will just go back to renting from enterprise, maybe try kyte.

Most incompetent customer service that I have dealt with in my life. I booked a car two weeks in advance, ZipCar failed to tell us in advance that the car was in an accident so we showed up day-of and had to sit on the phone for an hour with customer service assuring that we would be refunded and the Ubers for the day would also be compensated due to the error on their part. I sent my Uber trip receipts promptly, and no response. Weeks later and I spent an hour on the phone arguing with customer service because they refused to compensate me for the Ubers--which they initially promised they would! So disappointed in the lack of communication on ZipCar's behalf and their inability to find solutions when I was promised full compensation. If you're thinking about using ZipCar, DON'T; I am still dealing with their B.S. weeks later.

Would give zero stars if I could. Attempted to use their services and did not work while traveling. Requested cancelation within an hour of sign up. Still charged over $176, which a combination of inital charges and subsequent and pending charges; now have dispute with credit card company, deal with interest charged and now wasting my time. When I spoke to Customer Service about it and requested Supervisor had to wait over 20 mins on hold. Fraudulent charges are not ok.

Loved this service for short trips. Cars are usually available all over San Diego downtown and near UCSD. Use it a lot during the week. However, parking the car can be an issue. If you are 1 minute late they charge $50. Sadly I am canceling the service, because of fees. Also one time i showed up for the car, and it was parked 5 blocks away. So don't trust the car will be where it says it's parked if you are in a rush. Overall it is a great service, watch out for fees on bank statements. They charge late fees well after you use the car. Bye Zip car.

Run away from Zipcar! I rented a car form them couple weeks ago. The worst mistake I ever made. One the car was not even in running condition and car Parker in a handicap space when I picked it up. When I inspected the car was fill off empty beer cans and smelled like per! This was the biggest waste of my time. You better off using other sources of rentals. Stay away and save your money.

I just joined Zipcar. Thought was a good alternative from a standard car rentals. Two weeks into it, I'm yet to find a car available near me when I needed which most of the time is right now. I live 3 blocks away from the nearest Zipcar pick up and every time I log on there's no car availability. It sends me to the nearest pick up point which is the SD Airport. Why would I want to pick up a car that is 2 miles away from me? This is really a bummer because I can't always plan life 2-3 days in advance to guarantee a car. I have hear similar problems with other people where they just can't find a car available near them at the time they need them. So this is useless. The other issue is that the day rental is way more expensive than a regular car company rental. I get it that gas is included but a I can get a day rental for like 60 including gas and my own insurance while Zipcar is 100 and plus for a day rental. It all sounded great until you try to book so to avoid you a fee think twice about this service. They really need to ramp up on their fleet and unless you don't need a car immediately which I think this is more tailor to this is worthless.

First time renting a car and it was not there. Customer service wanted to move me to another car that I would have to take a taxi to and I would have to take a taxi or public transportation to get home. I would have to pay three times for a car. Sad way of doing business and horrible way to treat someone on their very first time.

Don't allow membership to be canceled online, which is a clear scam. Charged me with no explanation after years of disuse. Did not respond to email for clarification.
