I went for a few grocery items and then stopped at the bakery. Bought two different varieties of cookies, oatmeal sandwich cookie and a Raspberry crinkle thumbprint??? Both of them were rock hard. The oatmeal tasted fine. The Raspberry had a lemon flavor in it that was so awful it tasted like a cleaning product. I won’t buy bakery items again they’re always very disappointing.

Worst Whole Foods ever! The prepared food was sparse and all looked old. The wine section was equivalent to what a 20 something would only want to get drunk off of. Save your real shopping for somewhere else.

1. Bakery staff in Lajolla, though ignorant about any ingredients in the products, are, at least friendly. Hillcrest, I dont even waste time asking anything, such unfriendly nearly hostile unhappy staff, esp the young guy with brown hair who cant be bothered to even think if you ask him a question. ...ALSO , even at 10 A.M. there is RARELY any Whole Grain bread, its all white bread. They used to have Prussian Rye, rarely now. LJ they have many whole grain breads. This was a great store 20 years ago. Thanks Bezos..On the other hand meat, fish, produce, body care, chinese food guys are always very helpful and pleasant....Deli and Breard, not so much...

They have a great selection of pizzas. All their pizzas can be made Vegan. Roque in the deli/ pizza area is amazing!. He takes great care to prepare the pizzas well and pays great attention to detail. I noticed that their menu is not online so I am posting it here

What happened, Whole Foods?!?! Usually everyone is so nice... My sister received a Horrible attitude from one of the employees today. Some young punk kid (looks Arabic or Hispanic ), who was cleaning carts, gave my sister attitude because she didn't know the shopping carts went to him after use. He basically yelled at her to give him the cart. I was embarrassed for her. I think well just go to the La Jolla one from now on. However, Pat, who works in the sandwich section was awesome as always:)

This can't be the Whole Foods I have to deal with in San Diego. CRAMPED, DARK, DIRTY and a total lack of regard for the the stores hours. I have never been here and regretted it instantly. It feels like shopping at the gas station.

Undersized and lacking a lot of common WF items, bot good for staple items and some departments hold their own quality wise vs larger stores. We recently pre ordered Thanksgiving food, one item that was a dietary special order. When we got there we were told the special order wasn't available and was 'sold out.' Apparently someone made an order mistake and they didn't have enough for those who pre-ordered. What pisses me off is that 1) someone sucks at their job enough to not order correctly but 2) nobody called and gave us the heads up. We could have tried to make alternate arrangements or even make it ourself ahead of time. Instead the person with the dietary restriction went without. A customer service call even a couple hours earlier would have gone a long way. Whomever is in charge of customer service can officially suck it hard.

This is my favorite store in San Diego and really, anywhere. It's the staff that make it for me. They seem to genuinely enjoy interacting with customers as well as their colleagues. I appreciate how particularly knowledgeable staff are about their products at this location. This is the case throughout the store, but especially in produce, where so many questions can arise. They are impressive! I've compared Whole Foods' prices to many stores over the years. The items on my shopping list that are produced using methods I trust and taste good to me are offered at competitive prices at Whole Foods. Like many shoppers, I'm concerned about the pressures staff must be experiencing recently, particularly during the pandemic. But their performance during all of this is A+.

The lady handling the raw fish used slippery paper on top of the same dirty gloves she used to open a door knob today. They pack the fish in paper wrapping which causes a mess when I have to unwrap and rewrap it. Use containers please. The Chinese food takeaway was so caustic my stomach burned for 1 hour. Vile!

The management is not concerned about their customers during the pandemic...the mask situation seems to be better but I'm not sure how many customers they are letting in the store cuz it was really crowded the other day. Also, Lazy Acres, Sprouts and Target have a policy for customers to wait before putting items on the check stand area until the other customer has left the area. The checker said they don't have that policy..I said I have no problem speaking up for myself. As I said that the shopper behind had everything down on the check out stand. His 10 year old kid was hovering inches away from me and I asked to him step back until I left the checkout area cuz he was well within the 6 ft protocol and he did. And FYI , twice I saw his kid unattended by his father in the store. Plus, checkout lines are super long...again, how many people are they all ing to enter the store. I went to Whole Foods yesterday October 9th and as I entered I asked the young woman at the door what the count was that WF let in the store and she said 60...which is absurd...when Covid first hit WF was letting 50 people in at a time and there was no wait at checkout, the aisles were clear , the produce area was not a maze to get through as it is now... I'd like WF to be honest with how many people they are letting in the store cuz it's definitely not 60 customers

The bakery here has such delectable treats! They taste very high in quality. We get the same chantily cake for all birthdays and no one ever believes the cake is fromWhole Foods. They also have an array of mini desserts that we've purchase for parties that are yummy too! Whole Foods in general is a little pricey for my grocery preference but the Bakery is very affordably priced and delish !

As someone new to California, I did not know Whole Foods does not allow dogs in the store. I've been to other stores here and never an issue. I waited in line outside in the heat for 30 minutes after leaving a dog park, only to get to the front and be told my 6 lb teacup poodle cannot come in and to leave her in the HOT car. Absolutely not. Due to COVID, when you get to the store you have to stand in line, and some places don't allow dogs, I get it, but the sign is small and near the front door, but when you get to the store you go to the very back of the line and don't get to the door until it's your turn in line. I am truly disappointed. Put the sign bigger, or say something while people with dogs are in line. Honestly this was enough for me to not shop at Whole Foods again.

Love wholefoods since discovering them when I lived in Venice beach (rumor has it the Venice location on rose ave is their first ever wholefoods ). During covid they are taking ALL measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their staff and store . I love this and they of course have the most amazing produce and groceries / flowers and liquor for all occasions . Not cheap but worth it !
