Worst customer service ever. They advertise for Western Union and they don’t have cash in the drawer at 11:55 almost noon time.

Mikey at the Deli was just the sweetest worker ever. He kind of touched my heart with just how smooth he made things look and with his spirit that was worn on his sleeve proudly. I am so thankful for him making my sandwich that I wanted sooo bad. He definitely deserved a raise or some type of appreciation. You are blessed to have him Vons

If I could give zero stars I would. I was in this store for less than five minutes and security followed me around from the time I entered to the time I left. Profiling is wrong!!

I like this Von's. It's close to home in a nice strip mall. I've been going there for 4 years. Produce is good, has most of everything I want and is usually very neat. Cashiers are usually nice. BUT my complaint is no one has ever trained the baggers. It seems like a game to them. Put all the frozen stuff in one bad and all the canned goods in another and then a loaf of bread in the third bag. Really? Do I look like I can bench press 400 lbs? I've had them put a gallon of milk and a liter of coke and some canned goods in one bag and potato chips and cookies in the other. Why have they never been trained to pack the bags so that regular people can lift them? I believe management is not paying attention.

I sometimes go to Vons at lunchtime, buy groceries, and pick up my lunch from the Deli. Last Thursday, during one such trip, I encountered a repulsive behavior from an elderly woman at the the Deli counter. This person tried to overlook me, when asked, refused to give me choices for the usual lunch combo and forced on taking the lunch combo items in separate containers. That lady being the only one in that counter at that time, I had to give up purchasing my lunch there, and picked it up at a restaurant later. This experience forces me to abandon shopping at Vons at lunchtime as I would not like to approach such a Deli counter that harass people.

This is a sharp looking well stocked Vons. All we needed was a cute birthday card for my 90 year old Dad. Whew, found one. Big Smile.

If you want to ruin your day, just stop by the deli area at Vons #2079, on Bernardo ctrdR. The ladies who are supposedly there to help (chicken) etc are nauseating. They look as if they hate their job. Last Friday I asked for a spoon of mango sauce to be added to my order. To make the story short, the deli manager (Rene) started screaming at me in front of many customers. She said that no will not. If you want a spoon of juice your cost is an additional $2.99. I said why, again she started screaming and in a very loud tone she said" if you don't like it, do not come back and she repeated it again" I was so humiliated. I reported the incident to one of the managers. All he said "I am sorry". I called the corporate and CSR's response was I have taken your complaint. The Deli Manager should be removed from her job. The interesting matter is that not too many employees at the store are fund of this person. Have I heard from the general manage (John Cappel? NO NOBODY CARES.... All in all, it was a very stressful day. So disappointed.

I have had the privilege of working with this Vons as a courier for the last couple weeks, this place is like a small city. I am a professional courier in the area and I have picked this Vons to await most of my orders; I hang out in my car and listen to my prank call show and sometimes make a few calls of my own in the shade off to the side of the store. Watching this store operate is always super interesting. Many employees work in several capacities, demonstrating how much they know and contribute to their business. This Vons is comprehensive proof that having a Union is a blessing to workers, who in turn care more about their workplace, and raise their responsibilities into a passionate energy exerted, converted into such amazing service displayed towards customers and contractors. Vons prepares their pre-sliced fruit on-site, did you know that? This Vons, instead of using a part of their Deli, has a specialized room for fruit preparation, which is a hallmark of food safety. Be sure to say Hi to Torrie! Every time I am having trouble loocating an item, I seem to run into her, and she gives me pinpoint directions, down to how far down which aisle, and on which shelf. She really knows her stuff, and must be long due for a promotion! It is and will always be my pleasure to work alongside Vons - So many of my deliveries are elderly persons who are mobility impaired. For this reason, I have reduced my minimum rate for deliveries, now accepting lower rates in the Greater Rancho Bernardo area, so that I can better serve the customers who need me the most - Of course, Vons ALWAYS has my orders immediately ready, so time has never, ever been a constraint. Great work Vons

It's probably the norm everywhere, but self check out is closed in the evenings. I was the only customer at that moment, but my cashier Michele didn't even say hello. She was too busy chatting with the man I presume also works at the store and is there to help bag items. I didn't expect a huge hello but being acknowledged would have been nice. She seemed pretty happy-as she chatted away with the guy--both completely oblivious as I swiped my card & walked away. No name tag either-I asked her for her name and told her to have a nice evening when she shared it with me. No sense in reciprocating the rudeness. At that point she did wish me a nice evening as well. If you come to this store-expect a quick check out, slightly higher prices than other grocery stores, but a convenient location that will make you forget the rudeness and the extra 50 cent mark up on most items.

Been shopping here for many years and the customer service has declined dramatically. Going through self checkout and trying to get some assistance, the woman seemed more interested in talking to her off-duty coworker. She literally wanted us to just go away. No supervisors came to assist us. Then the off-duty worker screamed at my elderly father. So we ended up leaving without getting our issue resolved. This is appalling to me. Just ridiculous. How can a store treat their customers this way. I don't understand.

Many thanks to the Vons Pharmacy staff for expediting my booster Covid vaccination and making it relatively easy. I'm sorry that I didn't get the names, but it is the staff working at 10am on Sunday, 19 December. Both the pharmacy technician and the pharmacist were very pleasant, kind and efficient. I was sort of dreading this since is was a walk-in but you both made me feel good about it. Kind regards - Mara

I have to give Vons kudos today. I rarely shop at Vons today but I had to go there as Sprouts was very sketchy with traditional Thanksgiving food items. I never expected to find a gluten free pie crust at Vons! Both Sprouts near me (RB and Carmel Mtn) did not have them, which is unusual as they have carried it in previous years. So thank you Vons. Now all my guests can enjoy dessert this Thanksgiving!

I come here a lot since I work nearby! I mainly shop in the bakery, deli and fruits which is amazing. I wish this Vons was in Chula Vista. I went by this afternoon before heading home and noticed the ReadyMeals. Who ever came up with this idea is a GENIUS! TAKE MY MONEY! Exactly what I needed after a long day! I bought a meat a potatoes and bacon wrapped jalapeno. Took me 30 min to cook and in my tummy it went. Amazing!

First time ordering flowers with very specific instructions. Messed up my order. Had to wait for another 15 minutes to get some sort of band aid done. They tried. If they just wrote down the order properly, this would not have happened. Oh well.

Cashier Sherry is rude and passive aggressive. It's difficult to make sure you received the correct discount just by viewing the monitor at Vons. We asked if the system took the buy five discount. Cashier answered, yes. Upon reviewing the receipt, that was not the case. So, we asked to return the five items since it was an obvious system error (we are very careful with getting the right item so it was the buy five deal). Cashier noticably irritated. Then proceeds to with a jolt flash the screen at my wife saying, "can you see the screen now! Can you see it's right." No idea about customer service. Hey GM, let your employees know even if the customer is wrong (which we weren't) leave the attitude at home. And on a side, as we left the store we heard an elderly gentlemen behind us say, "horribly store." So, he must've experienced something bad as well.
