Wells Fargo is terrible in general, but this office is particularly awful. My mom and her husband has been banking at this office for years, carries a large balance. Both of them had a health issue and are unable to manage financial affairs. WELLS FARGO will NOT honor the POA documentation that was done by a professional attorney (note, their other banks DID). I've been trying to pay bills and taxes and keep things afloat. But I cannot see balances because they won't disclose any information to me. Checks bounced NSF because the checking account ran out of money and WELLS FARGO RETURNED several important checks including property taxes. There was NO attempt to call or email or text so that we could transfer between accounts. I'm probably going to close my mom's accounts.

Staff here are horribly unprofessional. Melissa Babbage was very rude and condescending and appeared to make up her own “policies” on the spot about certain things the bank “could” or “could not” do. When pressed to provide an official bank policy on the issue she began to berate and argue and raise her voice in anger. Very unprofessional staff. Been banking here for my large business and personal for many years and this branch has got to be the worst in San Diego. Horrible.

This bank is really sketch. The only reason I keep going here is because it is a really big pain in the butt to change banks for an HOA. Every so often they ask for ID to make a deposit. This is even if you have an ATM card on you. They don't mention this until after they take your money, count it and put it in the drawer. If you don't have an ID they try to get you to leave the bank and go get it without giving you your money back. That is exactly what happened 5 minutes ago. I asked for my money and checks back so that I could leave and return. The teller seemed flustered and could not remember how much cash I had just given her so I had to tell her "I gave you $244.11" which was also written on the envelope that had just given her. Then she proceeded to ask the teller next to her to break a $10 so that she could give me my money back. At the same time I pointed out the stupidity as I can walk up to any ATM to make a deposit without needing an ID. I also mentioned that it would only make sense if I was taking money out. Non the less, I believe this is a scam as she was expecting me to leave the bank without my cash or checks, and she needed to make change in order to give me back the money I had just given her. Yes, I believe these employees are using all kinds of tactics to steal from their customers.

Great! Speaking of Wells Fargo, I just got another one of those rebate checks because they did some more shady stuff with my account again. I received like $260 last year for the same reason. I love them, and the duplicitous tactics they employ vis-a-vis my different accounts at their various bank branches throughout America and close to the beach as well. Usually, their employees are so nice and they go out of their way to bring you a cold water if you're thirsty, or maybe some flowers when you're feeling blue because of a personal lose of some sort. This is a level of customer service that usually only family members bestow upon you when you've been a good family member to them as well. Use the drive-thru ATM for maximum efficiency.

This should be illegal, not allowing a person to deposit money into a family members account is backwards asinine and how they talk like it's something completely cool shows their ignorance in the world. Then to say its to stop money laundering.. so everyone is a criminal in WF eyes. However, if you're a business then anyone can drop money into a business account. How is this legal???? How can an employee/human that works here talk like it's perfectly OK. The bank industry is right up there with the police and health industry that they are not here for the people... they dont truly care for the people. They try to limit and negatively affect the people. Wells Fargo is backwards asinine and all the employees that work there that do not attempt to fix this are a human daily tragedy

My family had a great experience at the Wells Fargo Bank on Garnet Avenue when we visited in April 2023! Jason DeVries worked with us for two and a half hours to resolve a complex account management situation involving three customers and a trust. Jason patiently completed around a dozen account updates and overcame several logistical hurdles. When it became clear that our situation was challenging, he gave us way more attention that I expected and kindly reorganized other client meetings to make time. Throughout the process, Jason was exceptionally thorough, making sure that he understood our needs and we understood the actions he was taking. Thank you Jason for all your help, we really appreciate it!

I've never been to such an incompetent bunch of tellers and managers. I had 2 accounts there, but after waiting for 10 minutes and being told they couldn't find either account, I left in frustration and without my money. I am now in the process of closing out both accounts. I will find a bank that actually serves its customers.

Staff is task oriented... NOT customer oriented. If line time is 10 minutes or longer, desk riders should get off their phones and their assess and open a service window. Service here is really unacceptably bad.

This is the training branch. It's consistently slow and the line is always long. Not enough tellers to ease the situation.

Do you know why they have such a low rating. Because they're horrible. Nick is completely unprofessional and the entire staff Is rude and condescending. I did nothing wrong but go in try to catch a check to pay my rent because my landlady has an account there and the check was from Wells Fargo. Instead of confirming the check through the person that wrote it Nick chose to make me feel like I was trying to Cash a fraudulent check

Worst Wells Fargo is San Diego, hands down. The custom service is terrible. Avoid this bank at all costs.

Was having trouble withdrawing 600 dollars from the outside ATM (which was well within my limit) so I went inside to withdraw. However the bank was understaffed and I spent 40 minutes in line just to withdraw my own cash.
