I dread coming to this pharmacy. There is always a line and they take forever to help you. The worst part, the people that work there always have an attitude or lack customer service. I will not be surprise this place goes bankrupt. Today I had to wait in line because they were several people ahead of me, then I had to wait for the med for at least 15 minutes. After all that wait, they tell me they don't have the medication. What the hell...If I could give this place a 0 I would. I will investigate how can I have my meds ship to my home. This place is AWFUL!

Hands down the slowest pharmacy! The waiting area is dirty and just screams unsanitary. They constantly close drive thru for "staff shortage" but will have multiple people working and the line inside is still backed up. It makes zero sense. EVERY SINGLE TIME!

We made an appointment (and received a confirmed registration note) to get the latest Covid booster. Although we have Kaiser (a big HMO here) we have gotten all our previous vaccines and boosters at stores like Walgreens and Vons. But when we got there today, they said that the rules changed in May and Kaiser members were no longer allowed to be vaccinated there. This information--in a city where Kaiser is extremely common--should have been mentioned in the online registration. We shouldn't have been able to make the registration and take time off work to go all the way down there and then been turned away. The pharmacist just shrugged and said that the online registration lets anyone make register, and then you get accepted or turned down once you arrive. Not good customer service.

There are long waits at the pharmacy. Stood in line to check in for a Covid Booster. Waited and waited until the pharmacist told me their refrigerator was not working properly so the Covid shots had to be thrown away. She told me she would definitely call me when they were available again. After waiting that length of time to hear this news was a waste of time when someone could have told me at check in. Also, I never received the call I was promised by the pharmacist. Terrible customer service.

TL;DR - if you're looking to get vaccines and don't have a PCP, go across the street to CVS or maybe a different Walgreens location. This one is chaotic, and they almost gave me the wrong vaccine!!I needed to get two recommended vaccines for an upcoming international trip. The vaccines are more unusual and not necessarily in stock, but the Walgreens website had me believe I could just make an online appointment for the desired vaccines.I showed up for my appointment on time and waited over 20 minutes in line. The pharmacy tech proceeded to tell me that neither of the vaccines were covered by my insurance and I should look up coupons on GoodRX. I told her that my phone didn't have good service in the store, and I didn't really have time to look for coupons. Thankfully, she found me something that provided a discount.I was getting flustered because over 30 min had passed by this point, and now it was looking like I'd be late to my next appointment. After filling out the forms, a pharmacist (I think her name was Cherish? Or something like that) called me over to confirm which vaccines I wanted. The pharmacy tech had gotten one of them wrong. I looked at the post it note on which she'd copied down the vaccine names from my confirmation email, and sure enough, she'd written down the wrong vaccine. It turned out they didn't actually have the second vaccine I had wanted, so I would have to come back after they'd ordered more. And they had to refund me and redo the transaction with the one vaccine only. At this point I was just relieved she'd caught the tech's mistake. I get that mistakes happen, but giving someone the wrong vaccine seems like a pretty high-stakes mistake!!One star because they had one of the vaccines I'd wanted and I got it, even though the experience took an hour (at CVS across the street, I can usually get a vaccine within 15 minutes). A second star for the sweet pharmacist who corrected the mistake and made me feel better about the whole ordeal.

Literal worst Walgreens pharmacy of my entire life. Note to the Walgreens staff: it is completely unprofessional to pick the phone up and continue to place someone on hold, and then picking up the phone and placing it down, not on hold, where I can hear everyone’s conversation and I am being blatantly ignored. I’m aware you are busy I WORK IN HEALTHCARE. But people have questions on their prescriptions and need you. Do better. 0/10 recommend.

We switched months ago from Rite Aid when it closed to Walgreens on Balboa. Prices seem substantially higher. But the most problems have been with the pharmacy. The lines are long, the wait to be served is long. Once at the window, it's still slow. Four times now the pharmacy has told us our prescription for insulin is ready, but when we get there, they are "out" of insulin. Yesterday the pharmacy said it was ready, but when we called back today, they were out of insulin. And when they do have it, they provide only a tiny amount instead of what we used to get. The staff are friendly, but the pharmacy is understaffed and overwhelmed. Even the drive-up is slow. Want good service? Go elsewhere.

I've tried calling the pharmacy on three separate occasions to deal with an issue with a prescription and each time, I'm on hold for an hour before they disconnect me. No other way for me to figure out what they need to resolve aside from going into the pharmacy. Kind of don't want to drive out there for them to tell me they can't resolve it. I understand they are definitely understaffed and overworked but would just be nice if someone would pick up the phone...

Rarely do you run into such a mismanaged, unorganized, pathetic pharmacy as the one here. As is mentioned in other reviews, "what a nightmare of a pharmacy." Since the Rite Aid across the street closed, we had the glaring misfortune to have our prescriptions moved to Walgreen$. Just today 11/16/22 at about 3:30 I tried once again to call them. After I was on hold for 20 minutes, they hung up on me. So I tried again. Another 20+ minutes on hold (I am not exaggerating) during which time I could hear them pick up the phone and then put me back on hold again - they hung up on me again. On try #3 I was back on hold for about another 20 minutes, someone answered. When I started to tell the person on the phone about what I just went through, he got surly about it! He said they have "problems" with their phone system. That may have been an excuse if I had not had the exact same issues with them ever since our prescriptions were involuntarily moved there. He went on to say they are also understaffed. That, I believed. It turns out that they have been trying to text our home phone, or at least that was his claim. When I told him that and tried to give him my cell that is able to receive texts he informed me that he could not change the number. When I went online to try and change it, their terrible webpage would not let me add my cell as primary contact. As to their accuracy in filling prescriptions in a timely manner is terrible. For one of mine that I was told was ready was not. That caused me to stand in their pharmacy line for a long time. Like others said, they take about 5 - 10 minutes per customer so standing in line takes a while. There are no chairs for people like me to wait and I have a disability and am 76 years old - sometimes the youngest one there. Yet after the wait, I was informed that the prescription was not ready - what? They gave no reason, just it was not ready but should be in two more days. I could go on, but you get the drift. They have a terrible phone system, they are constantly understaffed, their accuracy of correct information is questionable, the lines are ridiculous, their webpage is a mess and - clearly - their management just does not care. Walgreen$ makes its money either way. I do not recommend this Walgreen$ and urge you to go anywhere else. We will move our account down to the Rite Aid on Clairemont Dr., even though it is further from our house.
