When I first moved into Vantage Pointe back in May 2022, Valet Market was wonderful. It used to be this really cool, high tech, self service store that was open 24/7 and even offered delivery services up to your unit. Not sure what happened a few months into our lease that the store started to change. The hours got reduced and deliveries were no longer offered. Eventually they shut down the store which was very inconvenient. To our surprise, the store eventually reopened but it was no longer high tech and self service but instead just like any regular "convenience" store. It was always been overpriced but without all the perks, I personally can't justify the prices. Regardless, I still try to use Valet, but it's almost impossible to. Most of the times when I try to go to the store there is a sign on the door stating that the cashier will be "back in 10 minutes". This is extremely frustrating. Today I stopped by at 10:05am during my 10 minute break from my remote job because I was (and still am) hungry. There was a sign that said they would return in 5 minutes. I waited my entire 10 minute break and no one showed up. I went back down around 10:40 and the sign was still up with the door locked. I can't keep on going back and forth during my working hours. It would be helpful if they invested in a clock sign where they can let us know what time they are going to be back because who know when the "back in 5 min" sign was originally posted. I wish there was a manager who could assist or some sort of customer service option. It's be even better if they had two employees working to cover each others breaks, but I understand that's not very cost efficient for the company. I am very disappointed that Valet has turned into this. I really hope it improves.

Edit: The store is now indefinitely closed while they try to secure more funding.Very convenient. No hassles with waiting in lines to check out. Just set up your payment method and scan your QR code with the app to enter, take what you want and it will automagically charge you as you leave. Two stars taken off because the variety is limited, hours are limited and prices are high which makes no sense since they’re not paying the overhead of employees. I guess you’re paying extra for the convenience. There are other convenience stores close by with more competitive pricing, albeit you may have to wait in lines to check out.

This place really SUCKS! and I have not been inside yet! Just walked 4 blocks to grab some milk. At 7:15 PM The doors were locked! They post hours of "Sun 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Open now" Probably not going to improve or be any better in the future with anything else! Probably will not come back after seeing that they charge five bucks for 1/2 gallon of milk! All of the customers here must be very high!

Overpriced. Inconvenient. No longer the value it use to be.A long time patron and resident of Vantage Point, I can say that it is no longer what it was. I'm trying to find a redeeming quality about this market. Clearly no longer a customer focused business. No longer convenient. The greatest marketing point of this store includes is its grab and go style, stylish storefront and app with ample selection, and a checkout free shopping experience. Let's start with prices. Outrageous. Everything is marked up at least double or more. Considering they use to deliver and the hours were accommodating, the convenience was worth it. Take those away what is the value? Pictured is a bag of Cheetos for almost $7. Half a gallon of milk at almost $5. Insane. Delivery service, which use to consist of door delivery is now limited to lobby only delivery? Terrible. Why would anyone want that. The whole point of delivery is so that I don't have to go downstairs. It's suppose to be contactless. Hungover from last night? Need a Gatorade, water, or aspirin? Forget about it. Store doesn't open until 11 am. Late night snack? Ice cream or some chips while you wind down and watch TV? Sorry, the market closed at 8 pm. Let's answer the obvious questions. What's the point of having a convenient store when the hours of operation aren't convenient. Employees need to be present? Why if they no longer deliver to apartments. What's the point of having an employee-less checkout, cameras, sensors, if I can't buy anything without the store being open??? Why not have resident only access outside of public hours? What's the point of the fob at the doors. Resident discount? Maybe rewards program for # of orders or $ spent? At least pretend to have perks while you're up charging me. I will gladly take my business up the block, Cortez Market, open 8am-9pm. The difference? Convenient hours. Reliable staff. Fair prices. Wide selection. Including booze! Go check it out! They literally have everything and more!

They have soo many expired products that they deliver. I had to go to ER because of their yogurt. Multiple residents in the building also received moldy products.

High tech shopping at its best! I brought my techy son with me to check it out. It was a cool and effortless experience. Download the app, add your CC and scan into the store. Pick what you want and walk out. No lines, no scanning! I got a receipt in about 30 minutes after I left the store and it was 100% correct. I wish I had a store like this near my house.

It’s okay but seems unnecessary. The store before had a less high quality food selection, but it had more of it. This system seems to make it so you don’t have as much space for actual products, so there’s a smaller selection of products to chose from. I find myself walking a block over to the convenient store in a nearby building because there are so many things that are missing from this one. It seems like it still requires one or two people working there anyway, the only difference is people are forced to get an app in order to pay, rather than paying with cash or credit cards. Also, they took a very long time to fix a bug that wouldn’t let me download the app with a Puerto Rican phone number, so for a long time I couldn’t even go in and buy anything. Finally after multiple occasions of reaching out to them, in person and online, they finally were able to fix it. Idk I was excited to like this store but it has been pretty disappointing.

Talk about easeeeee...sometimes you just don't want to chat it up you just want to grab and go and this is what Valet let's you do. Although it feels like stealing haha but love just getting the receipt sent right to me. Let's get some of these east coast now!

This is the future! The automated system is really neat. You scan your app, walk in, take whatever, and leave and it charges you! If you live in the building they will deliver it to your door for free. Vantage Pointe residents are lucky. The prices seem reasonable, too. I’m a fan.

Very cool concept. Looks way bigger in the video on their site and the selection looks bigger as well. If you need to just pop in and grab something quick it's great.Check your receipt though, we got charged twice for everything we got. They had it corrected within 5 minutes but you still need to check.

Update - Beware of their "Fresh Sandwiches" and how they advertise them. I ordered a $7 "Turkey Sandwich" and they delivered a SUPER SMALL 1/2 sandwich?! When I brought up my obvious concern, they said my delivery was correct. Their description reads: "Locally made here in downtown San Diego! Fresh sandwiches from Mio + Tuo on 9th" No mention OR picture of a 1/2 sandwich. ...furthermore, the sandwich was awful Dear Valet Market, If I ordered a Cheeseburger and you delivered 1/2 a cheeseburger I'd be upset. If I ordered a Hotdog and you delivered 1/2 a Hotdog I'd be upset. I ordered a Sandwich and got a SUPER SMALL 1/2 a Sandwich - not happy.

Valet Market is a new concept and it is great. downtown San Diego's first autonomous market. You download the app, scan on way in, get what you want. Then just walk out. No lines. No hassle. You are automatically charged for whatever you walk out of the store with. They have everything, except ice! Please get ice to sell. employees are very nice as well. Benefit of this place is NO lines!!!!
