“Sew Loca gets my highest review. The owner is patient, kind and operating in her natural talent and abilities. These classes are a jewel for San Diego. Support small business and be a patron!!!”
“Great store but plan to spend a couple hours...the place is huge with everything to furnish or decorate the house. Many collectables, vintage and antiques. Reasonable prices too.”
“So many awesome collectibles in here, it's a physical media gold mine. Vinyls, CDs, cassettes, gaming/tech, shirts and more. Felt overwhelming, in a good way.”
“Literally one of the best shopping experiences I’ve had! Great selection of vintage and local, women owned brands. The owner is also so so sweet. She offered all the customers complimentary drinks and just had awesome energy. I’ll definitely be back!!”
“love this place! they have a variety of clothes to choose from at low prices. I stopped by recently and found so many gems from their $5 & $10 racks. Stevie is an amazing owner who helped style me and find good options, definitely worth checking out !”
“Going in to see what treasures I can find here is always a joy. Trish, the owner is very special and fun to talk with while shopping. Never disappointed, always a pleasure!”
“Excellent place to take your antique furniture, yard art and more to sell. They sale it at auction for top dollar and give you a check. Or just go shop you'll love it.”
“Excellent record shop with surf boards, skate boards, collectables, clothing, etc. :) The owner, Mike, has a wealth of knowledge and very courteous. Will be returning soon.”
“Such a cute, little, fashionable boutique! They have both vintage and vintage-inspired clothing and accessories. It was a joy sifting through the vintage clothing as they were clearly well curated items. I had no intention of buying anything, but Michelle was so nice chatting us up, talking about the merchandise, I ended up buying a few items that were on trend and a vintage purse.Great experience overall. I can't wait to go back and check out new items”
“A phenomenal place for handmade / vintage gifts, goodies & souvenirs! Very unique with a million vendors and items to choose from! The reason I deducted a star is because retailers didn’t have envelopes for postcards and it feels like small businesses owners who display / sell here don’t leave materials that are necessary (idk how to explain it) but the example is the handmade ornament I got was the only one missing a string to hang and it was one of a kind and they didn’t have means / materials / expertise to add it. Purchased it anyways but I’m scared that I’ll ruin it while trying to add it! Would recommend! Phenomenal place for gifts and goodies! Unique 10/10!”
“This place is huge! Some stuff is really overpriced but others are great bargains, so if you look hard enough you’ll find some great deals. Lots of jewelry and wall decor.”
“An amazing shop with hundreds of choices. We added to our Talazano ceramic collection of salamanders, birds and aquatic creatures. Excellent prices and super helpful and kind staff. Highly recommended!”
“If you are fun and funky and are missing something familiar. Hurry here! They speak your language! You can't move in, but you can revisit this eclectic assemblage of lovely items anytime and gift them away to others of our kind. Have fun, maybe a laugh.”
“I mean, if I were a store, this would be me. It's so fun, definitely can't go in there without at least trying and/or buying something. A mix of old and new, vintage, pre-owned, handcrafted accessories, clothes, shoes, etc. It's a fun store for sure.”
“The Johnson House is an amazing find. It’s an old style clothing and hat shop in Old Town State Park, at the edge of the main plaza, Washington Square. The owner has an amazing knowledge of not only clothing and hats of the pioneer era, but is a wealth of knowledge regarding Old Town. We walked in just to find out about some of the amazing museums and replica era stores, and walked out with a great hat and bonnet. To me it was a wonderful find, because I have a big head, and I have trouble finding a hat to comfortably fit it. They have an expansive variety of 2XL hats, for which I was surprised to find. I would recommend visiting to not only find that unusual and authentic piece of clothing or headware, but just to find out something about the history of Old Town.”
“This record store was amazing! The store owner was so badass and gave some good deals! The best thing was the cassette tape selection, so many R&B and hip-hop titles!!”
“Great experience here. Cozy vintage corner tucked next to Lestats. I always feel it's a great collection when I browse. The buyers have great taste, the items all have their own sense of attitude and "retro," and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They always ask how are you and say hello when you come in.I walked in to buy a birthday card one day, and also grabbed a flyer on the counter about their monthly selling day, which was the following Sunday.I came back with 2 bags of my own clothes on said Sunday I've been meaning to get rid of, some of them already on apps for sale. The experience from check-in, the short waiting time which I enjoyed anyway browsing the store, and the value I got back for the items they picked was all really positive. You are able to choose between 30% cash back or 50% store credit for the value your items will be priced at by La Loupe. I was happy with this because I've been in stores that do a 20% / 40% ratio or even 20% / 30%. I ended up even finding 2 pairs of vintage Levi's jeans that were (finally) in my size, and they were not expensive either. These vintage jeans right now go from anywhere between $50-250 depending on their year, condition, etc and La Loupe's were definitely on the lowest end of that. OK bag em baybee! In addition to a colorful and fun assortment of vintage clothing they also carry new items from local brands: dainty gold jewelry, BAGGU bags, organic / clean beauty products, plant pots, candles, all the cute stuff for gifts from small businesses.Support small, reduce your carbon footprint, shop 2nd hand”
“Great antique mall with something for everyone! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Nicely organized and items are reasonably priced. I'm glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a shop.”
“Steve makes great products and I highly recommend him. I got the first leather kilt he ever made, and my buddy got the second. If you want custom leather, look no further!”
“A lot to see in this semi-hidden Golden Hill neighborhood shop. A real dynamic selection of 1970s pottery, but also vintage art, wooden boxes, metaphysical accessories, quirky glasswear, jewelry and such. I've been here many times but there is always something different. Mostly handmade and unique things.”
“Bought a new leather chair there last year. Great deal. The employee was so nice & extremely helpful n getting the chair in my car & strapped down. Will be back!”
“Great place can find some grails here for sure and at amazing prices like amazing if you go to Buffalo exchange down the street you will be paying 13 dollars more for the same shirt. But definitely a lot of stuff you have to look through before you find the heat but if you look hard enough you can find some awesome pieces.
(Im mostly interested in clothes and fashion so in this review im talking about their clothing selection idk about furniture and other stuff but it also seems very good)”
“This is my go-to spot in Hillcrest for gay clothes! They have clothing, hats, and a few home items. The owner is very nice and there is a changing room if you want to try anything on.Warning: The only thing I am not 100% sure of is that when I was inside the dressing room, I could see two cameras from inside the store pointed in my direction. How do I know if those cameras can see me, or if I am barely out of the camera sight? That's sketchy to me. Please be aware of your surroundings, always. I do not mean to accuse the owner of anything bad, but I feel the cameras need to be placed somewhere completely out of sight of the dressing rooms.”
“The best place to come for shopping for everthing, at list once a week. location is next to Trader's Joes in oceanside which make it very easy to stop by before shopping. The store open 7 days a week.”
“We were moving to another state and called several Estate Companies. They came to our home and told us that we had so much stuff and that what we needed was someone that would buy out all our stuff. They recommendedSteve Mattson's company. It was the best recommendation we ever got. Steve came within a few days, we told him what we were getting rid of, he made us an offer on all of it, which we accepted. The next day his workers showed up and took everything agreed upon. They were so fast, efficient, professional and polite. It was a God send for us. We had more stuff as we sorted our attic and storage and had Steve come back the next week and made an offer as before and his workers showed up the next day and did it again... fast, efficient, professional and polite. It was amazing to see them work. Our neighbor and our realtor have both asked for their name as they saw what was happening. They took everything including a toilet we had on the side of our house. I would give them more stars if I could. Mattson Company was the perfect solution for our needs. Highly recommend them to anyone wanting to clean out houses, apartments or storages. A TEN star company no doubt!!”
“Amazing dresses and even better customer service. My girlfriend was looking for a 1940’s dress and found the perfect one there at a reasonable price. They have a great selection of quality dresses from all eras!!!! We are definitely coming back soon! We also did not have an issue with the “handling” of the dresses. She was able to try on multiple “fragile” dresses with no issue.”
“We found the couch of our dreams here, and the staff was so helpful with us in purchasing it and saving it for us to pickup. We would come back anytime, thanks again!”
“I saw this place had a 3.9 and that’s crazy because the amount of compliments I have gotten on the most unique bell bottom jeans that were made by this store, I honestly couldn’t count how many people rave about them and how well they fit, that I just had to come in and give Flashbacks 5 stars.”
“This store provides excellent opportunities for discovering bargains and is conveniently situated near the freeway with plenty of parking available. The range of products is wide, encompassing items from popular mall brands to luxury designers such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
Although the choices for semi-formal and formal wear are somewhat restricted, there is a diverse representation of other styles. The prices are more competitive compared to other resale stores in San Diego. Moreover, there is a vast assortment of shoes, although the collection of handbags and other accessories or jewelry is more limited. A fantastic discovery for residents of San Diego.”
“To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The individuals there are not bothersome or attempting to persuade you to purchase anything. It is not necessary to have everything. In a peculiar way, they possess almost perfection. As a large individual, I intend to visit. Their prices are so extraordinary that they motivate me to lose weight.”
