Incompetent, entitled, and arrogant nurses. Especially that nurse named Julie or whatever last name starting N, who doesn't even know what Pt she's even taking care off. The so called doctors are just cosmetics walking around while the "nurses" have little tatrums for every little thing. Would rather die off a street than to go to that ambomination of a so called "Hospital". A shame that any incompetent neanderthal can became a nurse these days. Would give a negative star if I could.

This is the first and last time I use this hospital. I was sent to the ER from urgent care. Turns out I have pancreatitis. I arrived in the ER at 3:45pm yesterday. It is 4:18am right now. I was told I was being admitted at 9pm and have spent 7 hours waiting for a room in the ER. It wouldn't be such a problem if it didn't take over an hour to get pain meds because the ER nurses couldn't get ahold of the ordering physician because I'm supposed to be admitted, not in the ER. I asked for pain meds and was told the nurse would come right back with meds. I waited an hour before i called again and another nurse came in saying she had sent the other one on break and that they were having trouble getting meds ordered. I am uncomfortable, in pain, with loud beeping, people talking all night long (I get it's an ER but I was supposed to be in a room), and another sick/drunk patient in the room with me making crazy noises. I have been awake for 24 hours now and feel horrible.

If I could give a zero I would! This hospital ( UC Hillcrest) is the worst ever. My Mother has been suffering here for almost two months. Every time we arrive to check on her she is full of feces and in terrible pain! Charge nurse for today is Lynette stated that if the our busy I could take an hour or more for her to be changed. We wait over an hour for a nurse to come clean her or gives pain meds . Every couple days her pain meds are removed and by the time we arrive and realize she has suffered the entire day. If anyone has any resources that could help us with the neglect at this facility please share !My Mother entered this hospital December 14 th for a planned procedure of having a stint placed in an artery. Since then she has had multiple surgeries for bleeding on her brain, Aneurysm, four surgeries, multiple procedures and multiple hospital related infections. As well as new skin break downs , constant pain , aspiration/ choking incident ( No clear documents of incident. We have had to now have a family member her ever night to ensure she is being cared for as well as the day time. Anyone we aren’t here , when we arrive she is laying in her own feces and it’s taken over an hour to get assistance. She has been left suffering all day today as she was not given any of her scheduled pain medication until I arrived and asked why she wasn’t receiving the medication and was told it wasn’t scheduled. I called the charge nurse in after waiting an hour for her to be cleaned up (Lynette 10th floor) and she checked and confirmed that she did have pain medication available after all. I also asked the charge nurse why it takes over an hour for her to get cleaned up and it was unacceptable for a patient laying in feces for over an hour. She stated that if the are busy then it could take over an hour! I asked to speak with her higher up and she stated she didn’t have one.She proceeded to walk out the room and when I asked for her name she stated she is the charge nurse ( completely unacceptable! As I’m still here at the hospital with my mother 5:30 pm February 1st I have had the call light on again for another hour because my Mom is in horrible pain. It’s now 6:15 pm and the call light still hasn’t been answered. I can see the nurses enjoying laughs and chatting away while my Love one suffers. My Mother’s nurse today is named “ Kiely Joe ).At this point with what we have experienced over the past several weeks with the level of care at Uc Hillcrest, we need assistance with patients advocating and someone to support the patients well being with serious urgency. Patients should never be tortured like this !

My highest regards to Agent Corina who went above and beyond to be kind and knowledgeable. I was very happy to visit this hospital with a friend and this lady was what you would call a perfect representation of this hospital. Thank you so much Agent Corina!

Can never get to dr or specialty, numbers always get transferred around and never get to the dr I had visited before. They do not include direct numbers on the after visit notes.I tried the Experience Team mentioned so many times , but they did not answer. , other phone number took more than 14 minutes wait, no answer even at 10:30 am!

pathetic MRI services.Noone has their name tag with medical abbreviaton and not even name.I had to get gadolinium contrast for MRI at HCH MRI and the person inserting IV inserted it and due to his inexperience or not having degree blew my vein and now its all bruised up and gadolinium got in my tissue in my hands. How am I going to write my college tests? Noone told me how to care for it and the person comes with me to tell my family that I was nervous.Of course all patients are nervous when they go to hospital it does not mean we back out because we know its for us and for our good health. The fact that I was nervous does not hide the fact that MRI services at UCSD has inexperienced/ non licensed staff.I thought UCSD hired more experienced professionals. This is not what I or my insurance was going to pay for.

My home nurse said I needed to get to the ER ( explanation at bottom) so I called UCSD La Jolla ( my usual stop)but was told they were super busy. A family member suggested I try the UCSD Hill Crest location instead. I phoned them and was told to come down right away as there was not a long wait time .And so I jumped in my car and made the 43 mile trek from north county. Sure enough , there was only a handful of folks in waiting room. The wait to get the bed/ IV hooked up was close to two hours, no big deal as that’s reasonable. Here’s where things went South:I was introduced to my assigned nurse by the IV technician. Her name was Amanda V. ( chubby white girl) . That was the last I saw of her during the 4 hour wait on the bed. This ain’t my fist rodeo as I’ve been doing this going on 3/12 years- she gave me no updates, offer of a blanket- place was freezing, no offer of a bottle of water and not even a “ how are you doing” in that four our span. During my wait I met withDr. Jason Mallet ( African American guy). I told him my story, he seemed to know about the bladder cancer and my nephrostomy tube implant. No problem there. . Three hours later he comes in and tells me that the surgeons went home and I need to spend the night and ill have surgery the next day but the schedule is not definitive. I tell him I can’t stay overnight as my dog is outside with expecting 30 degree weather that night ( Jan 7th). I also mention that I am currently without insurance at that I can’t afford two visits to the ER ( following day as well because I cannot do overnight) His response to my concern verbatim was“ Oh , you’re gonna pay”. Now that comment I found unnecessary, sorta like kicking someone when they’re down. The nurse was non- existent, the 5 1/2 hour wait was rough, especially with no updates whatsoever and in the end to be told the surgeons have gone home, just brutal. But that comment was like a knife. Totally unnecessary and makes me think this Dr. has a chip on his shoulder . Aren’t we all struggling financially. I know I’m barely keeping my head above water. My message to nurse Amanda V &Dr. Jason Mallet is to get some manners. You work in the health care field, THE FREAKIN ER NO LESS!!!!! , where people are in crisis situations. A lesson or course in Humanity 101 I highly suggest.I will never go there again and will be visiting UCSD La Jolla from here on out.The difference is night and day.BTW, I needed to go to the ER due to a nephrostomy tube getting yanked out of my back. Without tube, my kidney is exposed because now there is just a hole there. Infection there could be incredibly difficult or possibly deadly. Also battling bladder cancer for last three years. These were all things that they knew and were made aware of.

Sitting here in the emergency room with a Loa worm in each eye, eighteen months later. Been having infestations, and almost a mental breakdown. I never thought I would see the day s hospital would be so deficient in healthcare, and knowledge. The doctors and nurses just don't seem to care

UCSD regional Burn Center and clinic, words can’t describe how much thankful we are for the marvelous care and support. Dr. Brain Piatkowski is a remarkable physician. He took excellent care of our patient’s wound and made the healing process go even faster. The anesthesia team were exceptional! Dr. John Finneran was incredibly caring about the patient and made sure that all information were addressed and understood by the patient which made the procedure goes very smooth. The nurses were accountable and kind. Kyunjgin Park, Ferris Bautista, Shar and Brenda provided an astonishing care and compassion for the patient. The house keepers were on top of their duties. Every staff member was amazing. Thank you so much everyone. We greatly appreciate your dedication, kindness, and support.

My girlfriend and I were there today because she was in so much pain with her back that she couldn't walk . She is also recovering from a foot surgery and is waiting on an operation on both knees which means she is already confined to a wheelchair. After a few hours of doing nothing the staff said we should get a bus home.We told them that she couldn't walk and they referred it to a case.managernwhoni believe her name was Tina. The reply came back that Tracy, my girlfriend, had no injury and should leave the hospital even though it took myself and two nurses to help her to the bathroom right in front of us. Tina or whoever she was did not come and check out the disaband Tracy had to walk leaning on me without shoes on to get a taxi and then when I got her home we had to go up there flights of stairs. Tracy was crying in pain and is now sleeping while I look for a suitable attorney so we can sue the hospital and case manager personally so that this doesn't happen to other people.

I've been in the emergency room for ten hours waiting to see a doctor. They tell us there are no beds, then they find me a bed, and I'm sitting here for three hours while doctors who are available come in, don't look at my charts or labs, say they're ordering tests, and walk out, having ordered no tests and looked at no labs. I've never seen a hospital run this badly.

My son-in-law waited there for SIX HOURS last night with a bowel obstruction. No meds, no doctors, no labs, no nothing - if you need a real hospital, this is the worst of all possible choices. He’s now at Sharp, been there for about 30 minutes. He’s on his way for a CT Scan, he’s had meds and been seen by a doctor. DO NOT GO TO UCSD, whatever you do. My daughter (who is an RN) says a man with actual heart attack symptoms at UCSD was NOT SEEN while they were there. Unbelievable.
