I went on a quest to try several of the highly rated burgers in San Diego, including (1) The Balboa, (2) Rocky’s and (3) The Wise Ox. None disappointed, but only the Wise Ox lived up to the hype. Wow. The Dry Aged burger is a must try. Flavors are perfectly balanced. Every bite is a wonderful adventure.

Tremendous place for lunch. Good-size portions. Good dudes working there. Philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious. High quality meat, big flavor. Fries cooked in beef fat (new for me) were fabulous. Drive 39 minutes to get there - will return to try the entire menu.

High quality, fresh-cut meats and homemade sausages, hotdogs and marinated options. Sandwiches are delicious! They also sell local Wild Child ice cream and gourmet pantry items.

Probably the best double cheeseburger out there The Philly cheesesteak is awesome also The $6 French fries are probably salted too much well for my Taste. They also are a butcher which their meat does seem a little overpriced the prepared food is not overpricedThey need to carry grass-fed meats.

Perfect place for a casual bite. There’s a great selection of meat and seasonings. A lot different than other butchers in sd.Highly recommend checking it out.

I've been riding ?️? by the wise Ox on El Cajon boulevard for a long time and smelling the incredibly delicious smoke from their BBQ smoker and finally decided to drop by today where I got the peppered turkey sandwich which was: "OFF THE HOOK!"
I'm definitely going back there to try their smoked sausages...

Iordered the Philly cheese steak. Very soft and flavorful bread with the right portion amount of cheese, onions and meat! This was the best I've had in a while!!! I will most definitely be going back. Somewhat busy and parking may be hit or miss.
