This place had the worst customer service the AC did not work in the room and when we let the front desk know of the situation, they said they would send someone and no one came so we waited a couple of hours and called again and they finally sent somebody but it was a security guard, no idea what he was doing, and he just pressed buttons and not making it hotter in The room finally by 3 AM. They decided to switch us rooms and when we got to our new room, it smelt so bad like if a homeless person was staying in there my husband and I ended up sleeping on top of the bed, not wanting to go into the sheets because of how gross it smell in there is the worst and then we let the front desk know in the morning they just said oh we can take your name and no one ever called. No one ever tried to make it right it was just the worst experience ever. I do not recommend this place. Also, they have these key cards to activate the elevator, but you can still activate the elevator without the key card so anyone can go upstairs.

Loved everything about this hotel! The views were beautiful, the reception was very friendly, the rooms were clean and neat. Also at the hotel you can rent a bike for free for 2 hours. The highlight of the hotel was the jacuzzi and the swimming pool. One evening I was alone in the huge swimming pool so I couldn’t stop but turn on the music and dance my lungs on! Will definitely be back, thanks so much ❤️

Went here for a conference and really enjoyed it. The meeting rooms have been redone & guestrooms are being refreshed floor by floor. My high floor Bayview room had a great view & comfy bed. It took 2 days for staff to fix the blinking BA lightbulb but the other BA lights worked fine, so not a huge deal. Great location close to the bay and tons of shops/restaurants in Little Italy & Gaslamp areas.

Overall, we had an amazing experience at the Westin San Diego Bayview. I was here for a conference, and the staff was phenomenal in coordinating conference needs. The room was great: clean, spacious, etc. The location was really convenient and close to the waterfront and good restaurants. The staff/service were amazing, as well!

I did not stay here but I came for a meeting. The conference floors are in disrepair with the stairs not carpeted and the meeting room locations could be displayed more clearly or have more direction as to where to find them. The digital agenda on display was sideways so it was difficult to read what rooms were in use

We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin. The rooms were nice and clean. The duvet amd pillow combination could either get 0 or 5 stars. They are so comfortable I never wanted to get out of bed and I immediately went to the westin store to order them for my house. 5 stars for comfort, 0 for costing me money! The issues I had with the hotel were that my room, despite being 12 floors up, still got sound from the bar below. Early in the week it was no issue, but as the week progressed it got loud. The TV package was basic, no ability to access anything other than basic cable. I liked the fresh bottles of water every day and our room had a nice view. The valet service is hit or miss, one worker was incredibly dedicated, running to get every vehicle, offering water to anyone that waited. Others couldn't care less if your car ever showed up.The on site restaurant was very good, especially in a competitive food town. Our server could have made a killing in fine dining as he was phenomenal in every aspect. He was so good in fact that when he saw me trying to fill my coffee from the complimentary Starbucks and it had run out, he ran over to me with fresh coffee and filled my mug. The breakfast buffet was very good compared to others. We definitely got our money's worth.Perhaps my largest complaint would be an overall lack of hospitality from the front desk staff. As someone who travels often, the front desk is the face of the hotel. At the Westin they rarely looked up from their screens to welcome guests returning for the day, even with no one needing help. Walking in felt like I was an intruder somehow, vice a welcomed guest. It truly had little impact on my stay, but a small change in hospitality would have given my stay and extra star.

This just isn’t a 4 star hotel. It is a best western with a hotel bar and accompanying restaurant. Not worth the money or the time. My room wasn’t clean, tried to talk to someone and they didn’t want to do anything about it. Luckily i had a sleeping bag with me from my trip.

The staff & the hotel itself is very nice the rooms are spacious and it's quiet. It's right downtown, so you're not far from anything.. plan on paying a pretty penny for parking, also they need more people working the valet a few of the nights i was there i had to wait for valet but besides that, overall, I would recommend staying here.

Staff were fantastic, particularly Albert who went above and beyond to welcome me and make my stay comfortable.Despite being upgraded to a renovated room, there is no sound proofing. When another door opens/closes it sounds like it's your room (they slam shut); you can hear people in adjacent rooms cough, use the hair dryer making it difficult to sleep or relax.

Not what I would expect out of a Westin. It was fine.

One of the phone charger ports didn't work. Halls smelled a little musty. Water pressure BAD. We won't choose this hotel again. I gave it 4 stars because the room was clean and safe.

Unfortunately, this Weston hotel has several issues that lead to it being subpar compared to other Marriott hotels.A lot of this review is geared towards elite members in the Marriott program.First of all, they do not have a concierge lounge/M club. Almost every other Marriott hotel in the downtown area has this lounge for free breakfast, free, evening, appetizers, free drinks, throughout the day, and other amenities. Unfortunately, that is really disappointing to not have it at this hotel.Second, they charge a $25 Per day destination fee that has absolutely no benefits. When we ask at the front desk, they told us that this fee gives us access to their high-speed Wi-Fi and their fitness center. I asked if it provided anything else like credit at a restaurant, free, bike rentals, or any other perks. The staff at the front desk told me it did not. This is honestly really infuriating as elite Marriott members already get free, premium Wi-Fi at all, hotels, and access to the gym/pool should not be considered part of that destination fee.Third, the rooms are terrible. The hallways themselves are narrow, old, and the walls and carpets are dirty and stained. As soon as I opened our room to the “suite,” I was immediately hit in the face with the strong smell of bad body odor.Fourth, if you are an elite member and the hotel wants to give you a “gift,” it is a plate of old chips and guacamole. Assuming they put this in the room when they clean it, this has likely been sitting out for at least six hours. The guacamole looked terrible. They could have at least put some lemon juice on top and sealed it so that it did not discolor. and they could’ve refrigerated it somehow instead of keeping it out.Fifth, the heaters in the room do not work. They only stay at 67°F. It was cold in our room and we tried to turn it up to 73, but even the next morning, it was still at 67° despite the fan being high and the heat to 73.Sixth, by 7 PM, the hotel walks all of its other entrances besides the valet area. This is really frustrating as the entrance on Broadway Street makes a lot of sense to remain open as these are automatic sliding glass doors.Overall, this is a very mediocre hotel, but if I have the chance to come to San Diego again, I would much rather stay at the Marriott Marquis Marina or Marriott Mission Valley. Hotels are much nicer, much more modern, have friendlier and more helpful staff, have better amenities, and all around better hotels.

Unfortunately, I know employees of both Westin establishments. Great place to stay worth every penny. But again, thus, is a bias opinion.
