Highly recommend!! We were hesitant to do this given our dogs have never received any formal training -- we were fully expecting this to be total chaos. LOL But Sam was such an amazing teacher and instilled confidence in both ourselves and our dogs. She is so great at what she does and this entire experience far exceeded our expectations. We loved our time on the water with our dogs so much that we are now looking into buying our own paddle board!

Literally the best experience ever with my dog! San is amazing and really good at taking enough time to teach you and your furry friend the paddle board way! I had SO much fun ! My dog got confidence from going out will definitely be back soon!

I came across SUP Pups on Bring Fido and booked our lesson on a whim. We were on a 3 day vacation with the only real plan being to walk the trails at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park and maybe go to the dog beach. I did not expect it to go super well with it being our first time paddleboarding and having one dog that hates water, but Sam had us comfortable and confident on the boards within 10 minutes of our hour lesson. On top of that, she was our personal photographer and got the most adorable pictures and videos for us! This was the highlight of our trip and I'm so glad we stumbled across it. I would recommend it to everybody; and even though Sam left us confident that we could rent our own equipment and go out on our own now with the dogs, I would book a lesson again just for her awesome energy (and also the action shots because I love having pictures of our adventures lol)

The best time! I took my two senior dogs & they loved it. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Samantha was so awesome! She is such a great teacher & so knowledgeable. You can tell this is her passion. She even took a stinger out of my dog's paw after he stood on a bee! 10/10!! Can't wait to do it again!

Five stars for Sup Pups! Samantha made learning to paddle board with my dog a breeze!She was super patient and knowledgeable, and made sure both my Lab and I felt comfortable and confident on the board.We had a blast learning the basics of paddling and exploring the water together. I can't wait to take my dog out on the paddle board again soon ??

If you’re on the fence about trying this, JUST DO IT! I wasn’t sure if my 100lb, water-fearing dog would be able to do this at all. Not to mention that I am not a paddle boarder either. And yet, with Samantha’s guidance, we both did amazing! I could not believe that my dog was able to do this, and what I also didn’t expect was how much it would instill confidence and bonding in both me and my pup. I do a LOT of activities with my dog and yet this is the one that stands out. I can’t imagine doing this activity with anyone but SUP Pups, and the price is very reasonable—especially considering SUP Pups supplies the tools, tips, and photos! I can’t wait to go again with my pup.

Sam does an incredible job teaching dogs and humans how to SUP. I have previous experience with my dog on the board, but I learned several new tricks from her quick lesson before we got out on the water. She's joyful, patient, kind, and talented. Not only did she let me borrow a fin for my inflatable board because I left it at home, she also let me use her electric air pump to inflate it the rest of the way. Thank you! What wonderful experience. 10 stars!!

I booked a private lesson for my mom, dog, and I as a Mother’s Day gift. The price was very affordable and included the gear necessary to complete the lesson. We got to learn from the Sup Pup owner, Samantha. Samantha is a great instructor! Prior to our lesson, I sent an email asking about details of the lesson and she responded within 30 minutes. Before our arrival at the beach, she texted me to make sure I would be able to find my way to her beach spot. I liked how her spot allowed us to park for free and near the water. Her great communication skills made it easy to find her and ask questions.Before getting into the water, Samantha told us what to expect, how to paddle, and how to be safe. After the dry run, we were excited to get into the water. She helped us to safely board and we were off on our adventure. As we were paddling around, she reinforced the techniques taught on land which helped us improve our form. She is very kind and encouraging, which made learning a fun experience. During our lesson, she took a lot of photos and videos which she shared once our lesson was over. We had such a great experience and gained so much confidence that we went out after our lesson was over. I highly recommend taking a lesson from Samantha!!

We just had the best experience with Sam!I have a golden retriever who doesn’t know she’s supposed to like water so I booked with Sam specifically because of her own dog’s story. After a brief but thorough training, my family of 4 (including never SUP before husband) headed out with our golden.My dog was so happy to be sitting with me as I knelt down. Sam helped instruct my family on SUP techniques and gave me feedback for my dog. Unexpectedly, my dog got her sea legs and just decided to switch boards to my daughter then to the next. My husband (now with slight experience in SUP) didn’t want her rocking his board so stopped her.My daughter wanted to encourage her to swim by my dog wasn’t having it so she transferred back to younger daughter. She didn’t like that I got away and jumped in ON HER OWN and swam to me. I was so nervous about getting her out and tipping my SUP over but Sam gave me feedback the entire time (not yelling nor overwhelming, just real-time useful feedback) and I got her back on the board effortlessly.My dog LOVED it!!!! She was so happy the entire time! She loved switching boards but loved to be near me so took an extra swim to get to me a second time, but this time she fell in. She had so much confidence and so did I the second time around. I think a part of it came from us asking if Jack (Sam’s dog) could come because she loves other dogs and I thought she’d learn by watching him (she did).I also learned that SUP is really good for dogs as it strengthens their hips, something extra important for lab/retrievers!My dog was exhausted afterwards (it takes a lot of energy to smile that much) and out whole family exclaimed that it was the best day! I will definitely be back.I cannot speak highly enough about Sam’s teaching! My older daughter is in great shape (me, not so much but I love the water), my younger daughter surfs a bit, and my husband doesn’t like the water and never did SUP before. In other words, 4 different needs and she met them all perfectly while teaching me and my dog!!! Wow!!!!I did this for Mother’s Day because I want to be able to kayak with her (I thought she’d like it more than SUP). Now I know I can take her out with confidence on SUP and kayaks!!!!HIGHKY RECOMMEND if you want a great day. And Sam took over 100 photos and videos, all air dropped before we walked away!

Amazing experience for both me and my pup! Our trainer/teacher was really enthusiastic, but also very cognizant of making sure my dog was comfortable and having a good time through the experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in SUPing with their dog. Even if you're good at SUP, I think having an instructor who knows how to make your dog comfortable makes a world of difference if you're introducing your dog to the board. Plus, the pics were amazing!

Just do it! This was the most fun thing I’ve done with my pup in a while. Samantha had everything ready, knows exactly how best to handle your pup on the board, and teaches you how to paddle like a pro. She is amazing.
