Tony was a big help. Gate always worked. The unit I rented was a reasonable size for the price. The property seems secure and free of riff raff.

Even though in a shady part of town, the price was right and we always felt safe. The place has an automatic gate and when they are closed, there is a watchman. We did terminate our storage unit as we moved and told them we still needed to remove the trash (they kept the trash-bins locked, ridiculously, as you need them when moving out so folks just drop their trash all around them), but when we got there we put in our code just as someone was leaving. We both entered and exited at the same time, but it turned out only they had access so we got locked in after hours. Even thought I told them we were coming back to sweep and they said we were paid through the end of the month, they canceled our gate code. Fortunately the watchman arrived and let us out. But overall, it was a great place for storage. We would rent there again if the need arouse.

if you have a bunch of really nice thing you would be better off donating them to a local charity than rent a storage unit at prime storage. my storage unit at prime storage was burglarized in march of this year. i was paying $18.00 a month to prime storage for insurance. it has been four months and I'm still waiting to be compensated for my loss. prime storage has some shady business practices such as making you think there in house insurence is real when its not . sure they take your money every month but when your things are taken they don't pay up.

Friendly staff and easy sign up. Facilities are clean and there is on site security for added peace of mind.

Not what we were looking for. I'm pretty frustrated that after all that searching, planning, and pre payment fee when we got there & actually looked at the unit that was reserved for us... It didn't turn out to be an area, facility, or actual unit space that was interpreted to us via website and otp 2wks prior!! I will add that the employee who we had the pleasure of meeting for today's reserved "Move-in" day was highly knowledgeable of the facility and was more than willing to walk us around to visibly see the differences between sizes & placement of units (ie. Drive-up vs stairs etc). Francis was were name & although she did mention several times that she was leaving behind the facility we were at she additionally helped to manage/run the other Prime Storage facility only 3 miles away from where we were. Francis specified that the Old Town location where we initially were did not have loading carts, lifts, nor were they accessible beyond three office hours which were only open till 6 pm. Francis let us know the other facility was also much larger & offered an array of additional services that were designed to accommodate the purposes behind storing personal property, household items etc. All in all I praise Francis as an individual but as for this specific facilities location.. it's just not to our preference. I will be seeking a full refund from this location.

Probably the biggest scam of a company I’ve dealt with in San Diego. First of all, I negotiated a rate, that was high, but acceptable. 4 months later they jacked the rate up by 30%+. They were surprised that I ended my rental. They insisted on “fire inspections” 3 times in 5 months that meant I had to visit onsite on their terms to unlock my unit or pay them for new locks. They rented a space to me that I SPECIFICALLY stated was for a car, but then after move-in was notified by email that I had to empty it of all fuel and disconnect battery to store. They mentioned none of this at time of rental. They harassed me for signatures that I’d already provided. I moved out a day early 5/9 but access codes were already suspended. There was no one on site to provide access to move out. I had to call customer service to arrange an emergency code.
Now I have a bill for $362 claiming I moved out 5 days after my contract ended and 6 days after I actually moved out. SCAM SCAM SCAM. You call customer service and they tell you they can’t actually help because they don’t have access to customer information; that they have to email the folks onsite. It’s possible that this is just a massively disjointed bureaucratic inefficient and dirty storage facility with shady pricing practices. It’s also possible that if it quacks like a duck it’s a duck. As in a rip-off, gouging, train wreck of a company. Do NOT do business with this company. You WILL REGRET IT.

For months my locked vehicle was stripped of thousands of dollars worth of property while various people filled it with junk, did drugs, peed in, slept in, graffitied in and basically lived in my vehicle smack dab in the middle of this supposed secure storage facility. Need I say more? I didn’t seem like the regional manager was very happy that I was unhappy, and when I brought up the subject of legal action, she immediately turned rude and short With me.

There was a break in this morning. Buyers beware.I brought a friend here because I referred him. We shared a Uhaul with I get some items here. The staff showed my friend to his locker and they discovered a previous bolt had been cut and the unit was ransacked. The staff was unaware their lockers were compromised. This unit was inside on a 2nd floor as well.I was embarrassed I referred my friend. I called several numbers to speak with a manager to express my concern and my call was not returned.Be warned, they do not share information about break-ins with tenants: the call center informed they do not have a policy in place and do not share this news with renters.I asked if they could review the security footage and the manager said, “between moving new people in, my normal duties, and h helping you, there’s no time to look at security footage.”My take away from the experience: this facility gets broken into so regularly, they are complacent with it and don’t care about protecting their tenants or their belongings. Do not rent from this location.

Not gonna lie it’s a pretty grimy place and you cant access your unit building without getting a key from the manager and they walk you over like you’re in school to let you in. I guess for safety reasons but they used to have lockboxes which was much more practical. And if they’re not there you can’t access your stuff. Also no dolly's and elevators.
