Safe place to sleep, caring staff, no gang affiliation or rule. Which is not to say that your phone won't get stolen if unattended. Staff will pick it up if it is unattended, and they walk past. Reminding you it is shared living, not a home, use common sense in caring for private possession. Suspension of services do happen, violence, threatening others or oneself are not tolerated, and medical conditions may exist. You may need to help your self, by addressing medical issues at the on-site medical clinic. Medical issues are not a reason to withhold services from anyone. Doctors can write presciption for accomodations, which are honored in general. If your condition requires more than their program, referrals are available.

For the clinic, the service is good. The guard is excellent. I am talking about the guy who watches my bike. For the meals, organized, dog table helps save time. Guards overzealous.

Not a bad place, 3 hots and a cot. Showers, dog friendly, on site medical. Only thing is the curfew, if your there right on time or a minute late they won't let you in

Thank you St. Vincent de Paul Village. Without you, I would not know what home could be. Thank you for always being there, for listening, and especially for caring the way that you do. All of you make San Diego an amazing place. Yes we have dark times but that is the sacrifice to give the world a brighter day. We love Father Joes!

I became homeless in San Diego on Halloween 1995. I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's in St Vincent de Paul village and I found a job March 2, 1996. Today I'm back home in my own apartment in South Carolina. Thanks much Fr. Joe Carroll! You will always be in my prayers!

I might be biased because I work here. The heart that the employees have for our clients is unbelievable! CREED is definitely in effect here at Father Joe’s Villages. So much Compassion, Respect, Empathy,Empowerment and Dignity is shown all day, every day! This place is wonderful!!!

I can understand what staff might have to deal with, but treating everyone the same would be great if applied with the sense on how you want to be treated in kind
