We used Ship Smart based on a referral from United Moving who said our load was too small for them. The upside to using Ship Smart is they pack your belongings on pallets. I have heard this is the best way to ship antiques. I had some special furniture that I wanted handled with care. As one mentioned on the reviews and I missed this before I hired the company, they do give you an estimate and I was told it's on the higher side, so I honestly thought I would be paying around this quote or lower. My other half claimed this was not going to happen because they would have our stuff and quote will be more. It was quite a bit more and I was very upset. I will say, we were impressed with the packing. I noticed one review mentioned no bubble wrap, and felt it wasn't packed good. They do use foam separators, and wrapped with paper and some cloth material. I thought bubble wrap would be used but it wasn't, but I don't agree with the reviewer who claimed it wasn't packed good. I did have scratches on our patio chairs that were stacked but nothing around them. i specifically picked these from the store with no blemishes on them, and when I got them, they had some significant gouges on the legs. But, the antiques were wrapped pretty good. I have some minor scratches on a chair but all in all, everything was in the pallets that I had moved. William, who came to the house to load the truck was fantastic!! I honestly wish he could have seen the things through to the final packing stages. I would suggest having movers with the move, as we opted to not do this and it proved to be challenging to unpack these crates!!! Mind you, we haven't moved in over 20 years, so this was new to us and our driveway was way too steep for the delivery guy to place these in our garage so we had 4 ginormous crates left curbside. Thank God it didn't rain! It was quite a job to unpack them and get it all in the garage. I packed my stemware and dishes as they would only do a 2 hour min and it was non negotiable. I must say, U tube is awesome!! Dishes need to be packed in paper and bubble wrap and vertical. I had nothing broken!! I have read reviews of people showing major damage and broken items and I had not one causality. Marked all boxes fragile, this side up and they were exactly that way in the crate. Granted I had those boxes tight but you don't know how people handle them so I was so thankful to not have anything arrive broken. All in all, just glad this is all over and I would recommend them but keep in mind the quote is not accurate at all. I explained to Ana, the operations manager, this was the one thing I didn't like about the company, the pricing not being accurate with quote. If you want your things handled carefully, I believe they do this as best they can. It was super hard to find a company! Some quoted way less than I paid, but you would share a truck, they pull your things out at each stop and this is where belongings get lost! My friend lost a lamp moving from San Diego to Georgia. Hoping I never have to do this again.

Shipped a few pieces of furniture from San Diego to NYC. Finally got them today after much delay and no communication. Our stuff was picked up 8/5 and was supposed to have a final cost in 3 weeks. Instead it took 7 weeks. Hard to get a hold of them until it was time to take my money. Then they were breathing down my neck and threatening storage fees. So today our stuff arrives and the receiving crew in NY was shocked that our shipment was so poorly packaged. Wrapped in paper, no cardboard or bubble wrap. My grandma's mirror was shattered, one of her night stands severely damaged. They dented our AC and punched holes in our dishwasher. Thankfully I got insurance, but the claim process is a total pain. Could not recommend them less.

I’ve been surprised to see that there are not more five star reviews regarding this company. My shipment has not shipped yet, but the customer service can only be described as five star. I’ve worked with Thalia and Cassie and both have gone above and beyond to explain the details, get all the information together, and help process this shipment. I will update my review after I receive my shipment, but have absolutely no concerns that things will continue smoothly.

Searched numerous sites and chose ShipSmart. Shipped several antique dressers and a mirror from a small town in MI to Oceanside. The pickup was done professionally and on time. The ETA was mis-communicated several times, maybe multiple shippers. Finally Jim Lock became involved and provided me accurate info. The contents all arrived well except the "antique mirror and frame were smashed". I worked mostly with Mitch who was excellent. After recontacting Mitch he advised to get an estimate. Upon receipt Mitch talked internally and Shipsmart reimbursed me very generously, more than they had to !!!!. The was only a 300# load and I was nervous. i would strongly recommend this company owing to there professionalism, more so with a small load. Great JOB Shipsmart (Ref: Pickup was 062417) Joe

I had Ship Smart do a move for me from the midwest to California. I had multiple pieces of furniture, along with boxes. The guys who picked up my items barely did an inventory list and the same for the guys who dropped it off. Also, my loveseat arrived broken and a huge box full of items was "lost". The customer service I received after this was not sufficient. Multiple representatives would tell me they were contacting other people and i would not hear back, only to find out this never occurred when I followed-up again. They say because I did not get the insurance there is not much they can do, although they did send me some money. I feel that a moving company should give customers their items back whether they got insurance or not. I am pretty upset about my missing box. I have also been made to feel that I am part of the problem since I cannot remember too many specific items from in the box. There needs to be a better way to ensure people's things get to them and that they are getting proper service. This was an expensive endeavor and I will not be using this service again.

Just used Ship Smart to ship some items from Houston Texas. Had to move dad to a facility and it was a bunch of stuff that would have no value to anyone but me. I have nothing but positive things to say. Everyone I spoke to or dealt with was kind and friendly. I got my stuff in the time I was told and everything looked great. Needed to ship some items out east, but the load wasn't big enough for a moving company, hence my involvement with Ship Smart. They quoted what sounded like a reasonable rate, but when the time came to finally deliver, the price doubled, meaning I owed twice what they quoted, and since they had my stuff, some of which had sentimental value, I had to pay. Cost is determined by the weight of your goods. Beware of the fact that they quote a rate based on what they guess your items will weigh, then determine actual cost when they weigh at their facility after they have your property in their possession. Ship Smart had my stuff for weeks before telling me what their services would really cost. They offer no proof of weight, so you're forced to take them at their word as to what your shipment weighed. Again, my bill was double what they quoted.

Hi, These guys are great. Every time I called for help, they were always available, I talked to a real person and they always knew the answer! I checked around for prices and they were the lowest price. They picked up and delivered right on time. The pickup crew was nice and they did a great job packing my stuff so nothing was damaged. Overall, this is a great company to use, Highly suggested!

I found Ship Smart on the internet, to have two items shipped from ME to CA. When Ship Smart failed to call me and let me know when they would pick up the items, I called them. They immediately got on it, packed and shipped the two items, and the furniture arrived on time, without a scratch. I was very impressed with their service. The gentleman who delivered was only supposed to drop off the furniture curbside, but went the extra mile and placed the items in my garage at no charge. Was extremely satisfied with this service. Wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

My furniture was packed to perfection. Best way to ship items that are too small or weigh too little for a big mover. The items arrived in perfect condition and the staff was pleasant and courteous. I would ship with Ship Smart again.

The Ship Smart staff were friendly and professional. The took the stress out of my having to move my one bedroom apartment cross country. I was able to set up pick up and drop off times and dates. My things arrived perfect, not one thing was broken. I'm so pleased with my experience. I would refer Ship Smart to anyone.

Ship Smart promised a delivery date which was my key issue as I was moving my frail parents from PA to CA. They delivered exactly as promised and everything arrived in good shape. The competitor couldn't promise any delivery date so I chose Ship Smart. Prices were competitive and delivery team courteous. Thanks!

I had a few pieces of antique furniture that I wanted to keep in the family. It was time to pass it on to a family member in the Midwest. Ship Smart got it there safe and sound without any damage or scratches. The picked up and delivered when they said they would and the drivers were both very pleasant. It did take a few weeks to actually confirm the actual cost once they picked up the items, but I wasn't in a hurry so the 5-6 week turnaround door to door wasn't an inconvenience for me. They may have an option for speedier turnaround. The overall weight of the items did not meet the minimum so I did end up shipping an extra piece of furniture, to meet the minimum weight limit and at least make the overall cost worth it to me. I would definitely choose them again if the need arises.
