I would not recommend Route 66 Movers. They did not show up for a move we had scheduled 2 months prior to the date. I tried to confirm a couple of days before through, text, email and calling with no response.

Route 66 was great to work with from start to finish! We worked with Johnny on the quotes, he was very knowledgable and flexible to make sure that the quote was accurate as we approached the actual move. The movers in both locations were extremely fast, careful, and personable. All items were delivered in their same condition and re-assembled at the delivery point whe necessary. Moving can be scary but Route 66 made it easy, would use them again in the future!

Good moving company. Straightforward communication. The moved our one bedroom apartment perfectly. Even though one of the Ikea dressers was scratched, the value provided by the movers is definitely more than the small damage.

Serg was amazing! Efficient, friendly, careful and aiming to please. Never have I worked with movers so careful to pack and handle my artwork and fine furniture as if it were their own, yet getting the move done super fast. They were in and out, everything arrived perfect, and with a smile. Highly recommen!

This really should be two different reviews, but this company doesn't deserve that, so here goes. Move 1: We moved from LA to SD so I could attend school. The move went well, was very smooth, they told us they had to store the truck overnight for some reason, but otherwise, it was fine, and came in right around the quoted price. No issues. Move 2: We moved back to LA from SD. Said they would be there between 8-9 and they arrived a little late, but not crazy late. They arrived with 3 guys, and 1 was out of shape and struggling. It took them about 6 hours to pack up our 2 bedroom apartment (admittedly we have a lot of books but they were already packed up and ready to go), then because the company needed the truck the next day, they had to move all of our stuff up to LA that day (which is fine) except they weren't done until almost 1:30, and by the end of it, they just wanted to go home. Which is fine I get that, but they didn't bother to properly re-install some of our furniture. They also scuffed up our bed frame, and it was missing screws to support the mattress. Fine crap happens, but the move was over 2x what they quoted! AND, every time I reached out to Anton after the move regarding a question, he ignored me. So, if you want to take the chance on everything going fine with your move, you can trust this company, just don't expect some after-move support once they have your money. We will not be using them again.

Quality and Customer Service have left the room!!!Route 66 Moving moved me and my family 5 or so times over the years so I didn't even think about checking Yelp reviews before my daughter scheduled them for a move to Temecula this past Friday, which turned out to be mistake of epic proportions. They were to stop at my home at noon to pick up a couch then proceed to my daughter's for the main move. Noon comes and it goes...no movers, no contact. After leaving voicemails, because it is flat out impossible to get a live person on the phone, we get a call back and are told 1-2pm. Rinse and repeat as ETA becomes 3pm. 3pm comes and goes... At 4:45pm we get a call back from driver, after several more messages left by us, with more excuses about traffic and an admission that they were DOUBLE BOOKED, we cancel. We waited all day in a packed out apartment with limited supplies with a 4 month old baby while they strung us along and wasted our day. Based on similar reviews, this business needs to take a good, hard look at what they are doing, how they are treating their customers and pivot quickly if they want to stay afloat. Setting realistic customer expectations might be a good place to start.

I called the company numerous times to attempt to schedule my move and was unable to ever get anyone on the phone, which should have been my tip off to look else where. However I had used Route 66 in the past many times (though not in the last 4-5 years) and had an excellent experience, so I ended up contacting Anton by email to book. We got everything set up and he confirmed my noon appointment. By 1pm when they had not arrived on moving day I called the office to try to get an ETA, but they don't answer their phones, so I left a voicemail & emailed Anton again. Finally a driver called me to tell me they were running late and would be there closer to 3pm. Fine, I was annoyed but fine. 3pm rolls around & nothing. No calls, texts or emails or communication of any kind. I called the driver I spoke with back again around 4pm and he told me he was in San Clemente (they were coming to Solana Beach for me) so they would send me another truck because he wouldn't be back in time. I asked for that trucks ETA, the driver told me he'd call them and get right back to me. Of course that didn't happen. At 4:45pm I called him again and was told "oh they didn't answer". I asked for Anton's number and the driver just told me that he doesn't answer either. At this point, I asked the driver to communicate to Anton somehow that I was cancelling their services. I left them a voicemail and sent an email stating this as well - haven't heard a peep, not an apology or even an excuse. I don't know what happened to Route 66 - perhaps the company has sold? But either way, avoid at all costs.

All i have to say is that I was very disappointed in the overall experience. Despite being very helpful when I found myself in hospital during the move and move in date changing, their communication was extremely poor, no one to take calls and vm was full. Failed to meet expetations on when delivery would occur, said 2-4, never called expect 2 1/2 hours late to say they would be there at 7:00.

I've heard horror stories and even had some bad experiences with moving myself. Finding a reliable mover can be nerve-wracking. A friend recommended Route 66 Moving so I gave them a call. I spoke with Sean and he was very helpful. I got a quote from him and called around other places. He came way lower than the others so I figured something was wrong. I called back and asked him to do a virtual walk-through to make sure the quote was accurate. I didn't want to book it assuming I would pay significantly lower and end up with a small truck. We did the virtual walkthrough and I was correct, they underestimated the amount of stuff we had. The final quote was around the same as the others. I went with them because my friend highly recommended them and BOY WAS I GLAD I DID. This is where the real value kicks in. We had to move our moving date several times and Sean was always accommodating. I was hearing that there was such high demand that movers were just not calling people back. Sean just told me to give him a heads up at least three weeks in advance and he would make it happen. When we finally had a move date, he booked it and there were no issues. Moving day came and the Route 66 crew led by Dima came as scheduled with two trucks - just enough with some room to spare. They were professional, fast and careful. We moved from the Bay Area to SoCal and what I was typically hearing from other companies is that they would arrive in a week or two after they picked up our stuff. Route 66 said they would pick up, give their drivers a rest while having our stuff in a secured warehouse and then be delivered the following day. And right on schedule, they picked up on a Monday and arrived Wednesday morning. When they arrived, they moved quickly but carefully. I do wish they would've put mats down over the carpet but whatever-not a big deal. Like I said, they were careful. They moved everything in and NOTHING broke. Everything was there and I couldn't be happier. I almost bought movers insurance because of horror stories but I risked it and saved myself $2700. They did a phenomenal job. They worked hard and I was appreciative. I have never had such a smooth move in all my life. Everything was there and intact. I am very grateful to Route 66 Moving, Sean and Dima for their work. I highly recommend them.

This company is an absolute scam! My husband and I just bought our first home, and were so excited to move in. The only mistake we made was choosing this company. My husband scheduled weeks in advance, and even called a few days before our moving day to verify that we were all set. We talked Anton and he told us that we were good to go, and gave us a time frame of 8-9am. My husband waited 9:15, called the company and no one answered, and couldn't leave a voicemail. At 10:30 my husband received a call from one of the drivers saying that their first delivery was "running longer than planned" and they would arrive by 11:30 at the latest ...we were scheduled between 8-9am...what time did they start their other move? They CLEARLY double booked and didn't want to admit it. My husband waited until 11:30, called them AGAIN, and was told it would be another two hours. He called AGAIN at 1:30, and told the drivers that if they weren't at our house by 2pm to not even bother. At 2:15 he was leaving the old house, frustrated beyond belief considering how stressful moving already is. We booked three movers and a large truck, and they showed up over 5 hours late with two movers, and a VAN! He sent them away, and contacted Anton through email (since getting through the them when you need it is almost impossible) and told him they need to make it right. It has been one month and we have still not heard back from them. We hired a different company, but because it was as a holiday weekend, we had to wait three days, while sleeping on our camping air mattress since that was all we had! They completely ruined this already stressful time, never apologized, and did NOTHING to try to fix it. We have already reported them to the BBB, where they only have 1 star rating. If you have taken the time to read this, PLEASE save yourself the hassle of using this company. I would never want anyone to have the same experience that we had. Any of the good reviews on her are clearly fake. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I would give them 10 out of 10 for being so helpful and cooperative movers. Route 66 Moving proved itself the best moving company in the town by giving me the best customer service. No complaints overall.

This company is a scam. Do NOT use. After they book your move, you'll never hear from that super duper helpful person again. NOR will they return your calls. They say they don't subcontract. That is a LIE. Not only do they subcontract, but the company they use ( Y&O moving consulting services) has NO BUSINESS PHONE NUMBER ANYWHERE) When you call Route 66 ( who provide a FAKE customer service number on the paperwork you sign, then you have to search online for a legit number) They REFUSE to give you a business phone number for Y&O. They outright LIE and say someone will call you back. THERE IS NO WAY TO TRACK YOUR BELONGINGS, OR WHEN YOUR THINGS WILL LEAVE STOTAGE WHICH IS NEVER MENTIONED DURING BOOKING. I will be contacting BBB and an attorney asap

The Good:1. Anton in sales is super professional, polite and helpful. He was the best part of the experience.2. They are flexible on changing move days. We had to change ours due to construction issues a couple times and they were very accommodating.3. The 3 movers, especially the foreman mover was also very polite and professional in his manner. Everybody was nice and that made the process much easier to handle while things were going bad.The Bad:1. It was explained to me by the foreman that they were trying out a new guy who was his cousin. It was his cousin's first day ever moving. He had zero experience. He wasn't aware, as if no one had explained to him how to handle people's furniture to make sure it wasn't damaged. He was also very overweight. He couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without having to rest, he moved slow the entire day. His fatigue made him lazy, which made him careless, which caused him to damage our furniture, aside from his lack of experience and understanding of how to care for people's furniture. Does management vet employees before they start? Is there any training program?2. The 28 foot truck was too small and my wife and I had to move the last bit over two days and 8 pick up truck loads.3. There were not enough people there to help box up our belongings and they seemed stressed when they realized we wanted some help in boxing. The Ugly:1. We have a lot of antique mid century furniture, not replaceable. I specifically asked one mover to put cardboard on the mirror and wrap the whole mirror in a blanket. I later see the mirror leaning against the truck, unwrapped, and sitting on fresh asphalt with rocks digging into the wood. I asked the mover why he didn't wrap it and he said, he had to use the restroom before he wrapped it and another mover grabbed it and took it without him knowing. This is just poor communication and systems between the movers. Scratched and dented a $500 mirror.2. We have a bed that is tufted leather. I came to the truck to see the overweight worker using the side board to rest himself on with the leather just grinding into the asphalt without any covering on it. Scratched and discolored3. 3 piece living room set, the love seat fabric is torn.4. Daughters bedroom set, has these wooden storage cubes...none of them got wrapped in moving blankets...Extremely scratched up.In summary, this didn't feel like professional movers. It felt amateur and under prepared. I told the foreman I didn't want to pay for all the hours for the mover who couldn't move all that well, so I paid I think half price for that one person. The business got back to me and offered $0.60/pound of damaged goods. Mirror Value $500, weight 25lb = $15.00 insurance coverage.Couch Value $1600, weight 350lb = $210 insurance coverage. As you can see this coverage is pennies for what your property is worth. Don't make the same mistake and go with a professional company that vets their employees and does training before their first day on the job.
