Woofpak Dog Grooming and Bakery
4545 La Jolla Village Dr E4, San DiegoRonni is the gold standard in dog grooming! She leads a compassionate and caring team that provides exceptional care for our dogs. Ronnie has expertly groomed our three super senior Chihuahuas ages 16-20 years old, who are delicate and struggle with anxiety. Her gentle approach and skillful hands always leave them looking beautiful and feeling great. We’re so grateful for the trust she’s built with our babies at this critical stage in their lives.
We now make special trips from out of state just to have Ronni and her team care for our dogs. The owners of Woofpak are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated professional running their business. Beyond grooming, Woofpak offers fantastic products, from wipes to dog strollers, making it a one-stop shop for pet care. We’ve been loyal customers and recommend Ronni and Woofpak to everyone!

Pet Grooming

Gabriel Feitosa Pet Boutique
4219 Park Blvd, San DiegoWow! This is the most professional and amazing groomer we have ever been to. After a lifetime of going to the groomer every two weeks our 15 year old Malshi suddenly decided she does not tolerate groomers anymore. She is going deaf and blind and is just having a hard time, so long story short we have been trying to find a new groomer that could cater to her spicy senior demeanor. We saw a video of Logan the groomer grooming a spicy dog on social media and immediately made an appointment same day. To say we were relieved and impressed would be an understatement. Beginning to end, booking to pick up the experience was 100/10. The staff is so kind and patient. They took the time to go over our senior's quirks before the appointment and by some miracle were able to groom her completely. They did a wonderful job and she didn't seem stressed at all upon pick-up. Will be back and highly recommend for senior dogs needing special care.

I am so happy to have found them and lucky they had a cancellation for soon after I first contacted them. Charity was timely and very courteous and professional. My dog is a nervous girl usually with grooming but Charity made her feel safe and comfortable. Maple is not as nervous/shaky as she has been in the past coming home from the groomers and she looks great!

4085 Pacific Hwy UNIT 102, San DiegoThis review is LONG overdue! I’m the founder of a very large dog rescue and Id consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to dog care. I’ve been to many doggy daycares in town and no where compares to Wags&Ruffs! My dog is there several days a week and cannot wait to get there when she sees where we’re heading. From the incredible staff who treat your pup as their own, the amazing owner Jen, the overwhelming and generous support they provide to rescues, the fun space, trainers, groomer- I could go on and on! I trust them blindly and know that my pup is in the best hands when she is there. They also send the cutest report cards and pictures that always make me smile. Truly one of a kind place and I feel so fortunate to have found them! Do yourself and your pup a favor and head over there and check it out!

Olive, My Love Dog Grooming
2818 University Ave Ste. A, San DiegoAfter trying so many groomers around town, I’m so grateful we found Lisa. My dog Waffles is a little wiggly during grooming, and in the past he would come home with scrapes or cuts—so it was always stressful. Since we started seeing Lisa, that’s completely changed.
She’s incredibly gentle, patient, and skilled. I don’t even mind driving 30 minutes every 7 weeks because I know Waffles is in good hands. He always comes out looking adorable, happy, and perfectly groomed. You can tell she really cares and takes pride in her work.
Can’t recommend her enough, she’s worth the drive every time.

Pet Beloved
US, 6375 El Cajon Blvd ste c, San DiegoThis is the only pet shop I trust 100% with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Oli. She’s very sweet but also fearful, and grooming time used to be really stressful for her.
What I love most about this place is the drying cabin – it’s quiet, with no harsh wind or loud noise. Today I passed by and saw Oli just chilling inside, super calm while drying.
She also doesn’t come home exhausted like she did after visits to other pet shops. That tells me she’s not stressed during the process. The staff is always kind, gentle, and super attentive. I really appreciate their care and recommend them with my eyes closed!
Ah, one more thing I really appreciate – they always send a message when your pet is ready, along with super cute photos of your dog. If they notice anything, like dirty ears, they even send a picture of the cotton swabs they used, so you can see if there’s any sign of irritation or inflammation.
It’s such a thoughtful touch, and it makes me feel really welcomed and informed. I feel totally comfortable leaving Oli there for about two hours, knowing she’s in great hands!

Rancho Bernardo Veterinary Clinic
12540 Oaks N Dr STE A2, San DiegoWe moved from Washington state and I always look at reviews before I actually pick places or like anytime honestly and this place had no bad reviews compared than some annoying person talking about like a phone answering person like a receptionist based off of like some like scheduling issue so I wasn’t gonna base that off of my perspective so I looked at every single review. I swear to God and I chose this vet specifically off of all the reviews and I’m so glad because he’s amazing. He’s very smart and knowledgeable and, I feel that my dog is safe in his hands and I highly recommend him. I have a French bulldog and he’s been in there for surgery and he’s gonna be in there for an ultrasound and I feel very safe and comfortable with this doctor so if that’s what you’re looking for you should definitely schedule with him because I did a lot of research and this is who I thought was very safe and knowledgeable for my dog and I have a French bulldog I feel very comfortable with my dog going under knowing that there’s a slight chance they may not wake up because they breathing problems I know this vet cares so much he’s great

CoastView Veterinary Hospital
3895 Clairemont Dr #103, San DiegoEven if you don’t read this whole review, trust, if you are looking for the BEST vet for your pet where they will be treated like a VIP (very important pet), receive the most comprehensive, compassionate care, & exceptional service (which of course all animals deserve only the very best), I HIGHLY recommend CoastView.
My 14-year-old Chihuahua Miniature Pinscher, Pawparazzi, has struggled with severe skin issues since June (hair loss, flaky skin, bacterial infection). Our previous vet was fine for routine care, but we saw no progress with these more complex issues. I found CoastView through a Facebook group, & the experience has been amazing. Being a senior dog with health concerns, the idea of a “fear-free” clinic was appealing. My husband was initially skeptical, but even he’s been impressed.
We've had two visits so far, both have been fantastic. Our vet tech, Star, is INCREDIBLE! Dr. Caitie is also AMAZING! They handle Paw with immense compassion, making sure he’s comfortable every step of the way. Star is not only kind to us but to Paw, thoroughly preparing us for Dr. Caitie, helping us communicate our concerns, & clearly explaining Paw’s meds & care tips. She’s friendly, warm, & a pleasure to work with, putting both Paw & us at ease.
Dr. Caitie is so intelligent, kind, & patient, answering every question we have. Her exams are thorough—she checks every detail, takes photos to track progress, & offers a range of treatment options that fit our budget. We always leave with a clear understanding of costs & treatment plans—no surprises. Dr. Caitie has provided symptom relief & preventive measures while we search for the root of Paw's issues.
Both Star & Dr. Caitie make us feel valued, never rushed, & we never feel like unnecessary treatments are pushed. They are knowledgeable, competent, & ethical—qualities that are reassuring when dealing with complex issues. Prices are also reasonable; it doesn’t cost much more than our previous vet, Dr. Caitie & Star also provided resources for financial support.
With our previous vet, we often left feeling uncertain. At CoastView, we leave confident that Paw is on the road to recovery & that there’s a solid plan moving forward.
For anyone curious about a “fear-free” clinic, CoastView’s approach makes a difference:
Separate entrances/waiting rooms for cats & dogs
Free bandanas with calming pheromone spray
Scales on the floor with towels for comfort
Scent diffusers in exam rooms
Towel-covered exam tables for warmth & comfort
Every treatment is done with us in the exam room, easing Paw's anxiety
Small breaks between procedures to avoid overwhelming him
An extra level of care, warmth, & kindness in all interactions with Paw during exams, testing, & treatments
Patience in explaining everything thoroughly & answering all questions to the fullest, so we never feel confused or concerned about his care
Prioritization of treatments & procedures to reduce stress & include preventive measures to avoid further complications
Peanut butter rewards after uncomfortable treatments—simple but helpful!
Communication outside of visits is excellent. We receive appointment reminders, & Dr. Caitie follows up with detailed care plans & cost estimates. After our first visit, I even received a check-in email about Paw’s progress, with encouragement to reach out anytime before his next appointment.
As someone who’s been worried about their pet for months, the relief we’ve felt since switching to CoastView is immense. We’re thankful to have found a place where Paw is truly in good hands & on a hopeful path toward recovery. When your pet faces complex issues, it’s frustrating & heartbreaking to feel helpless. Now, we finally have hope that Paw will regain quality of life, & we’re grateful to the CoastView

Man-K9 - San Diego Dog Training
5050 Santa Fe St, San DiegoWe were interested in getting a trained Belgium for our property and had been looking for a while - checking out various trainers across the country and landed on Man-K9. Unlike others we’d investigated, Man-K9 were immediately responsive to our inquiry, professional, and so incredibly nice! Additionally, the reviews that we read were all so positive that we decided to schedule an onsite visit. On the day of our visit, we could not have been more impressed. The facilities were clean, the dogs were all happy and well-behaved, and the staff were knowledgeable and passionate about their work.
Mr. Manuel Villanueva, owner/operator/trainer extraordinaire, spent a great deal of time with us, and then handed us over to Lead Trainer (also extremely impressive), Fon Villanueva. After thoroughly discussing our needs during our 1st meeting, they introduced us to a couple of dogs and observed our interaction. I was impressed by the fact they were doing the best thing not just for us, the potential ‘new owners’, but they were also looking to ensure the best fit for the dog.
We needed to wait about a month before bringing home our new family member, U-Yan. Because U-Yan was trained as a protection dog, Fon wanted to ensure that we were equipped with all the knowledge we needed. We spent 2-3 hours with Fon for 3 days ensuring that we were familiar and comfortable with the commands and how to handle the newest member of our family. While the primary goal was education for both humans and dog, the entire experience was interactive, engaging and fun – we really got to know U-Yan, and visa-versa. We had many questions and the Man-K9 team addressed them all.
By the time we were ready to leave, Fon mentioned that he’d be coming up to see us within a few weeks (we don’t live in SoCal) to make sure everything was going well. I joked with my family that this was probably more of a ‘wellness visit’ to ensure we were being good parents to U-Yan and I was completely okay with that! It signaled to me that they were sincerely doing what was best for both us and our new dog. During the time in between, Fon texted a few times to check in and Laurie (she runs things!) checked in via email – both restating that if we needed anything or had any questions to please reach out. On the day of Fon’s visit, it didn’t feel like a ‘wellness check’ for U-Yan, rather more of a 'fine tuning' for the humans - which was truly appreciated!
The entire team at Man-K9 could not have been more professional and a true pleasure to work with – Mr. Villanueva, Fon, Ricky, Laurie – everyone was just fantastic. Their dedication to the animals and their final work product is beyond compare. Add to that their outstanding customer service and you know you’re in good hands! Whether you’re looking for a protection dog, companion dog, obedience training, etc., Man-K9 is the place to go. These folks know their stuff and they are wonderful! Could not be more impressed!

Precious Pet Care San Diego
5361 Roswell St, San DiegoI cannot thank Precious Petcare and my Wedding Pet Attendants (Hilary & Tory) enough!!!
First of all, Leila and her staff were very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process, and they ensured that my 2 fur kids would get the best care possible for my big day.
When the big day came, I felt SO comfortable with Hilary & Tory’s capabilities as ‘temporary’ dog mommas for my special day. It took such a HUGE burden and relief off of my shoulders, knowing that they were in such good hands.
They were both able to keep my pups calm and happy, even with Scooter’s terrible separation anxiety! They also followed my detailed instructions to a TEE, and walked our ‘Ring Bearer’ and ‘Flower Pup’ down the aisle with no issues!
They did an amazing job getting their energy out by constantly walking them around, letting them enjoy nature (they even saw a deer), playing with them, and keeping them well treated and extra cozy (Scooter was warm and wrapped in a blankie when he got chilly!).
They truly watched them like hawks, snuggled them, and treated them like their own. When I saw them both with the pups (and heard nothing but amazing comments from my guests!), I knew that they were in amazing hands and I could be calm, relax, and really enjoy myself.
They were also a great influence on my young pup, Millie, and her shyness around other people! We noticed such a huge improvement in Millie the day after the wedding! She was like a whole new dog. She’s so much less skittish after having the opportunity to meet with so many guests. I thank Hilary & Tory for giving her that opportunity, as it was much needed for a young rescue dog!
They were stellar at their jobs —- they were punctual, kind, calm, professional, organized and dedicated.
I also can’t thank them enough for the amazing photos that they sent. They are my absolute favorite photos for sure, and I’m so glad that they captured those moments for me (as the bride misses all the fun! Lol).
I highly recommend Precious Petcare!!! 5 stars

The Human Dog Team
4414 33rd St, San DiegoIf you want to have the most meaningful relationship with your dog, Gonzalo is the trainer for you! Working with him has been a truly life-changing process for my fiance, me and our dog, Chef.
Chef, our 3 year old lab, has had issues with leash reactivity and anxiety since he was a puppy. Before enlisting Gonzalo’s help, we had seen behaviorists, vets, and multiple dog trainers to try to understand his behavior and why we were unable to even walk around the block without an anxiety episode.
After meeting with Gonzalo, he was able to understand our situation and tailor a training program. While this did require work on our end, the instruction we received from Gonzalo was clear and provided results quickly. Between one on one sessions, Gonzalo also provided group classes, group hikes, and prompt replies to questions and videos on WhatsApp.
Gonzalo has proven to us time and time again that he has a deep understanding of dog behavior and emotions, as well as a passion to improve the bonds between dogs and their owners. Our experiences in the group classes has shown us that Gonzalo does not have a “one size fits all” approach, but rather tailors methods that work best for you and your dog with an emphasis on having clear communication. Whether you have a new puppy or an older dog with a particular issue, you will not be disappointed.
It’s hard to put into words the bond that we now have with Chef. Interacting with him is more than just orders and obedience, it’s clear communication and understanding. He now enjoys walks to the park, fetch, coffee shops, off leash hikes, and much much more. Not only do we feel safer with him, but he seems to be living a much happier life. We truly did not think we would be here. Thank you Gonzalo!

Camp Run-A-Mutt, Sorrento Valley
11468 Sorrento Valley Rd STE B, San DiegoCamp Run a Mutt in Sorrento Valley is incredible. My aussiedoodle Rocky is not great with groups of dogs and we are very picky about where he goes to daycare, but he’s been thriving at camp run a mutt the past year. We’ve used daycare, boarding, and grooming and they take the best care. There is no other place in the San Diego area that even comes close. Highly recommend to anyone (even if you are worried your dog might not get along with other dogs there). They always have a ton of staff with the dogs and you can watch your dog on a live stream online.

Taste of Denmark
142 University Ave, San DiegoSuch a cute little place with amazing owners. Had lunch here and knew nothing about Danish food. The owner was so informative and we went with her suggestions. I loved the rye bread but my son said he wasn't sure it had enough bread to be called so ? Do make sure you end your meal with a danish. And make sure to order it at the start of your meal so they can get it into the oven. If I'd known how delicious they would be I'd have ordered more to go. I had planned to share the one I ordered but it went directly into my mouth. The chocolate milk typically drank in Denmark with the hotdogs was so good. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more items on the menu. And the juices! My son is already planning to take his wife so you know it was good. Parking can be difficult. You will pay for it. In the heart of Hillcrest. We strolled over to No 1 after. So fun! Tables inside and out. And other bakeries nearby if you have a sweet tooth like me

MILKISSIMO GELATO
1640 Camino Del Rio N, San DiegoThe gelato here is AMAZING! I walked by this stand every time I watch a movie but never tried it until yesterday. I am glad I did. I ordered the chocolate and the strawberry flavors. WOW. Both flavors are rich, creamy, and scream great flavor. The service was great as well. Th two people working here were very helpful. After trying some samples, my friend and I were ready to make our delicious choices. I can't wait to come back for more! If you are in the Mission Valley area(or any where in San Diego), please come try this gelato. It meets or beats all the spots you will find in Little Italy, but you don't have to worry about paying for parking like you would over there. There's nothing like a sweet treat to cap off your day. Eat up!!!

Pacific Beach Ice Cream Co.
1010 Grand Ave, San DiegoJust stopped here for the first time. OH MY GOODNESS! Such amazing ice cream! I love ice cream, but I am usually disappointed. But here I was surprised in the best of ways! The owner encouraged me to taste a number of the flavors I might not ordinarily try…and I was shocked at how delicious they all were. Over the last couple of years I have tried several of the local ice cream places. THIS was the best, and really up there with the best I’ve had anywhere.

Wee Companions Small Animal Rescue
3368 Governor Dr F, San DiegoWee Companions is such an amazing and helpful rescue! They are so thorough and informative. It's clear the staff truly cares about the welfare of their animals. You are required to fill out a questionnaire in order to adopt so they can ensure you are a knowledgeable adopter. We got a Campbell's hamster, multiple dried flowers, a hide, dried mealworms, sand and all the bedding from our little guys enclosure, for 26$. I was so happily surprised by the cost! It was so nice supporting a small business that focuses on giving animals a second chance. I can't say enough good things about them!! You also get 50% off products when you adopt! (The photos of our little hammy are from our enclosure at home)

Keep up the great work San Diego Humane Society!
