Raise The Wuff Mobile Dog Grooming
1880 Camino De La Reina Suite 1065, San DiegoI recently had the pleasure of using Raise the Wuff mobile dog grooming service for my first time, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, everything was incredibly convenient and professional.
My dog, Roxy, is a senior dog and usually gets nervous at traditional grooming salons, but having the groomer come to our home made such a difference. She was calm throughout the entire process, thanks to the groomer’s gentle approach and care.
The trailer was clean and well-equipped, and I loved being able to watch from the iPad to ensure Roxy was comfortable.
If you’re looking for an stress-free, convenient, and professional grooming experience for your dog, I highly recommend Charity! I’ve already booked my next appointment with her.

Gabriel Feitosa Pet Boutique
4219 Park Blvd, San DiegoWow! This is the most professional and amazing groomer we have ever been to. After a lifetime of going to the groomer every two weeks our 15 year old Malshi suddenly decided she does not tolerate groomers anymore. She is going deaf and blind and is just having a hard time, so long story short we have been trying to find a new groomer that could cater to her spicy senior demeanor. We saw a video of Logan the groomer grooming a spicy dog on social media and immediately made an appointment same day. To say we were relieved and impressed would be an understatement. Beginning to end, booking to pick up the experience was 100/10. The staff is so kind and patient. They took the time to go over our senior's quirks before the appointment and by some miracle were able to groom her completely. They did a wonderful job and she didn't seem stressed at all upon pick-up. Will be back and highly recommend for senior dogs needing special care.

The Barking Lot of Hillcrest
3781 Park Blvd, San DiegoMo was the first groomer we ever took our mini aussie Achilles to. As Achilles was our first dog Mo really set the standard for us for grooming. While we always appreciated how kind, efficient, and detailed Mo was with Achilles' groom, it wasn't until we moved across the country and had to start looking for and seeing a new groomer we realized how truly above and beyond Mo goes for his clients.
Everything about The Barking Lot of Hillcrest and Mo is just a cut above the rest. Booking an appointment is easy and efficient online and drop-off and pick-up for the appointment is just as easy. We would drop Achilles off at the time of his appointment and 30 minutes to an hour later Mo would text us letting us know he was ready to be picked up. It was really nice not having to worry about Achilles waiting there for a long time or dealing with pickup and drop-off times hours apart. Once we picked Achilles up, he walked out of there strutting like a new dog looking, smelling, and feeling amazing. He was always given the cutest cut and his nails were so well trimmed.
We miss The Barking Lot of Hillcrest and Mo so much and could not recommend them more for anyone who is in the San Diego area.

Wags & Ruffs
4085 Pacific Hwy UNIT 102, San DiegoThis review is LONG overdue! I’m the founder of a very large dog rescue and Id consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to dog care. I’ve been to many doggy daycares in town and no where compares to Wags&Ruffs! My dog is there several days a week and cannot wait to get there when she sees where we’re heading. From the incredible staff who treat your pup as their own, the amazing owner Jen, the overwhelming and generous support they provide to rescues, the fun space, trainers, groomer- I could go on and on! I trust them blindly and know that my pup is in the best hands when she is there. They also send the cutest report cards and pictures that always make me smile. Truly one of a kind place and I feel so fortunate to have found them! Do yourself and your pup a favor and head over there and check it out!

Black Mountain Animal Hospital | Your San Diego Veterinarian
13161 Black Mountain Rd #1, San DiegoWe have been taking Dominic to Black Mountain Animal Hospital for the last four years, since the pandemic when we couldn’t be inside of the clinic! From not being able to meet the doctor to ending up in the rooms, for various reasons (Dom slipped and injured his leg and needed to be checked, flea meds, annual exams, shots) he has been in good hands with everyone at this office. The front desk is always kind and accommodating, we are given options for what we want to do, and there is no judgment or pressure from the staff especially in our circumstance where we could not afford full preventative care. Rancho Bernardo Veterinary Clinic
12540 Oaks N Dr STE A2, San DiegoWe moved from Washington state and I always look at reviews before I actually pick places or like anytime honestly and this place had no bad reviews compared than some annoying person talking about like a phone answering person like a receptionist based off of like some like scheduling issue so I wasn’t gonna base that off of my perspective so I looked at every single review. I swear to God and I chose this vet specifically off of all the reviews and I’m so glad because he’s amazing. He’s very smart and knowledgeable and, I feel that my dog is safe in his hands and I highly recommend him. I have a French bulldog and he’s been in there for surgery and he’s gonna be in there for an ultrasound and I feel very safe and comfortable with this doctor so if that’s what you’re looking for you should definitely schedule with him because I did a lot of research and this is who I thought was very safe and knowledgeable for my dog and I have a French bulldog I feel very comfortable with my dog going under knowing that there’s a slight chance they may not wake up because they breathing problems I know this vet cares so much he’s great

CoastView Veterinary Hospital
3895 Clairemont Dr #103, San DiegoEven if you don’t read this whole review, trust, if you are looking for the BEST vet for your pet where they will be treated like a VIP (very important pet), receive the most comprehensive, compassionate care, & exceptional service (which of course all animals deserve only the very best), I HIGHLY recommend CoastView.
My 14-year-old Chihuahua Miniature Pinscher, Pawparazzi, has struggled with severe skin issues since June (hair loss, flaky skin, bacterial infection). Our previous vet was fine for routine care, but we saw no progress with these more complex issues. I found CoastView through a Facebook group, & the experience has been amazing. Being a senior dog with health concerns, the idea of a “fear-free” clinic was appealing. My husband was initially skeptical, but even he’s been impressed.
We've had two visits so far, both have been fantastic. Our vet tech, Star, is INCREDIBLE! Dr. Caitie is also AMAZING! They handle Paw with immense compassion, making sure he’s comfortable every step of the way. Star is not only kind to us but to Paw, thoroughly preparing us for Dr. Caitie, helping us communicate our concerns, & clearly explaining Paw’s meds & care tips. She’s friendly, warm, & a pleasure to work with, putting both Paw & us at ease.
Dr. Caitie is so intelligent, kind, & patient, answering every question we have. Her exams are thorough—she checks every detail, takes photos to track progress, & offers a range of treatment options that fit our budget. We always leave with a clear understanding of costs & treatment plans—no surprises. Dr. Caitie has provided symptom relief & preventive measures while we search for the root of Paw's issues.
Both Star & Dr. Caitie make us feel valued, never rushed, & we never feel like unnecessary treatments are pushed. They are knowledgeable, competent, & ethical—qualities that are reassuring when dealing with complex issues. Prices are also reasonable; it doesn’t cost much more than our previous vet, Dr. Caitie & Star also provided resources for financial support.
With our previous vet, we often left feeling uncertain. At CoastView, we leave confident that Paw is on the road to recovery & that there’s a solid plan moving forward.
For anyone curious about a “fear-free” clinic, CoastView’s approach makes a difference:
Separate entrances/waiting rooms for cats & dogs
Free bandanas with calming pheromone spray
Scales on the floor with towels for comfort
Scent diffusers in exam rooms
Towel-covered exam tables for warmth & comfort
Every treatment is done with us in the exam room, easing Paw's anxiety
Small breaks between procedures to avoid overwhelming him
An extra level of care, warmth, & kindness in all interactions with Paw during exams, testing, & treatments
Patience in explaining everything thoroughly & answering all questions to the fullest, so we never feel confused or concerned about his care
Prioritization of treatments & procedures to reduce stress & include preventive measures to avoid further complications
Peanut butter rewards after uncomfortable treatments—simple but helpful!
Communication outside of visits is excellent. We receive appointment reminders, & Dr. Caitie follows up with detailed care plans & cost estimates. After our first visit, I even received a check-in email about Paw’s progress, with encouragement to reach out anytime before his next appointment.
As someone who’s been worried about their pet for months, the relief we’ve felt since switching to CoastView is immense. We’re thankful to have found a place where Paw is truly in good hands & on a hopeful path toward recovery. When your pet faces complex issues, it’s frustrating & heartbreaking to feel helpless. Now, we finally have hope that Paw will regain quality of life, & we’re grateful to the CoastView

Pet Sitting & Training
Paw Commons Pet Resort
7888 Othello Ave, San DiegoI moved my 2/3 pug 1/3 pittie-boxer foster fail love bug (Juan Pablo) from Camp-Run-A-Mutt to Paw Commons for doggy daycare.
Paw Commons has by far been the better experience for our pup. First, there is way more space, a great water feature where the dogs who want to get wet can frolic, and there are way fewer dogs (or simply just way more space for them).
My pup stopped wanting to get out of the car at the former place where at Paw Commons, he is super excited to go and jumps happily out of the car when we arrive.
This speaks volumes of the difference in experience he had. The humans at both places are professional and kind, it just seems like the dogs have a little more room to play, jump up on various things, hide under things and of course engage in water play if they want. 10/10. The owner of Paw Commons is very passionate about providing an amazing experience for the dogs. Perhaps something about being a franchise like Camp-Run-A-Mutt they need to get as many dogs as possible crammed in on any given day.
Attached is a screenshot from the live cam where JP was walking precariously close to the water (which he generally hates, lol) and a pic of our very happy, tired boy when he got home.

Dog Days San Diego
2926 Garnet Ave, San DiegoThis is hands down the best doggy day care and overnight boarding in San Diego. Our 2 rescue pups have come here several times over the last few years, for as long as 6 nights, and every time I’m blown away by the level of care provided.
One of our dogs is super friendly, while the other is much more shy and still getting used to strangers and other dogs. Our shy dog needs to be with her sister at all times, and isn’t always the best at communicating her feelings - and Dog Days always provides us with thorough updates on how she’s doing and accommodates her little quirks (like needing to be in the small dog area despite being 50 pounds, ha) to make sure she’s doing well & that all the other dogs are comfortable too.
We’ve also used their transportation drop off service, and there was a hiccup once where our shy dog was having some barrier aggression when getting into the van. Rather than throwing their hands up and asking us to come get her, DD gave her and her sister a PRIVATE ride home - we were obviously a bit mortified but so relieved that DD handled the situation so well for all dogs involved. They gave us a robust rundown of the situation and recommendations for how to handle similar issues in the future.
And whenever we call to check in as anxious dog parents, they always give us detailed notes on their behavior and health as well. We also love that they have extracurriculars for the dogs, like hiking outings, too!
Dog Days is truly the most professional level of dog care you can get in San Diego - and while the rates do reflect that, it’s absolutely worth the peace of mind. Ziggy and Nova say thank you!!

Precious Pet Care San Diego
5361 Roswell St, San DiegoI cannot thank Precious Petcare and my Wedding Pet Attendants (Hilary & Tory) enough!!!
First of all, Leila and her staff were very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process, and they ensured that my 2 fur kids would get the best care possible for my big day.
When the big day came, I felt SO comfortable with Hilary & Tory’s capabilities as ‘temporary’ dog mommas for my special day. It took such a HUGE burden and relief off of my shoulders, knowing that they were in such good hands.
They were both able to keep my pups calm and happy, even with Scooter’s terrible separation anxiety! They also followed my detailed instructions to a TEE, and walked our ‘Ring Bearer’ and ‘Flower Pup’ down the aisle with no issues!
They did an amazing job getting their energy out by constantly walking them around, letting them enjoy nature (they even saw a deer), playing with them, and keeping them well treated and extra cozy (Scooter was warm and wrapped in a blankie when he got chilly!).
They truly watched them like hawks, snuggled them, and treated them like their own. When I saw them both with the pups (and heard nothing but amazing comments from my guests!), I knew that they were in amazing hands and I could be calm, relax, and really enjoy myself.
They were also a great influence on my young pup, Millie, and her shyness around other people! We noticed such a huge improvement in Millie the day after the wedding! She was like a whole new dog. She’s so much less skittish after having the opportunity to meet with so many guests. I thank Hilary & Tory for giving her that opportunity, as it was much needed for a young rescue dog!
They were stellar at their jobs —- they were punctual, kind, calm, professional, organized and dedicated.
I also can’t thank them enough for the amazing photos that they sent. They are my absolute favorite photos for sure, and I’m so glad that they captured those moments for me (as the bride misses all the fun! Lol).
I highly recommend Precious Petcare!!! 5 stars

Et Voilà! French Bistro
3015 Adams Ave, San DiegoFantastic appetizers. The Venison and Ginea Game-Hen were delicious Tables are a bit close to each other, so get to know your neighbor. Service was ok, the server forgot to bring a couple of our items out, so we had to ask for them. Not 20% & 25% tip worthy that they put on there bill. We will definitely eat there again with a bit better service. I still gave it 5 stars because the food was that good and memorable.

Juice Wave
3733 Mission Blvd, San DiegoBest açaí bowls by a long shot in San Diego!! They are so incredibly fresh and delicious. Not all açaí bowls are created equal. You can really tell when they are made with love. Each ingredient is homemade. The base of the açaí is not too icy or too watery. My favorite part is the seasonal fruit topping! I’ve had plums and pomegranates. Their regular topping of strawberries and bananas are delicious too. They chop up the strawberries really small and it definitely adds something to the bowl. There’s not a ton of seating and parking can be hard so we often call ahead to order and then one of us will hop out of the car to grab and it and then find parking elsewhere and eat it on the beach. Highly recommend adding a nut butter to your bowl!

MILKISSIMO GELATO
1640 Camino Del Rio N, San Diegoon this autumn night, our gelato journey was not one we took lightly, upon discovering milkissimos, we were allured by the scents of the fresh ingredients, and the jolliness of those within. julia was so friendly and reminds me of my kind nona, john fought tirelessly to provide me a sample of each of their handcrafted dishes until he found one that suited my tastes, they remind me of my genuine italian ancestors and i could taste the roman authenticity in every bite. i would have battled gladiators and beasts in the olden days of the coliseum for just one bite. the fresh scoops feel like a cool summer day on the beaches of italy, this gelato experience was one of laughs, brotherhood, and quality memories! will be returning! abbodanza!!

Ultreya Coffee and Tea
4653 College Ave, San DiegoI’ve been coming for a couple years now and always get the Mac Nut Latte, which is amazing. I have celiac so I can’t normally order any food items from coffee shops. Today I was confidently able to order the gluten free Hashy Sando. The wonderful/outstanding/fabulous/sweet employee answered all my questions and assured me that cross contamination was as limited as possible. Thank you so much!!!! It was so yummy and tasty and brought tears to my eyes because I was actually able to order and eat something warm and fresh.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Copper Top Coffee & Donuts
4636 Mission Blvd, San DiegoOne of the best "gourmet" style donuts I've had in recent years. Typically when I have a donut (or multiple) I quickly end up regretting it, but these are made light and airy while satisfying my sweet tooth. Lots of made to order flavors which I also appreciated. The owner is very nice and friendly to take to as well. Definitely give this place a try if you haven't already!

Saigon Coffee
3994 30th St, San DiegoMy boyfriend and I have passed by Saigon Coffee many times in the past with the intention of trying them someday, and finally, we went there and arrived within a half-hour of closing. There was only one person in front of us during this weekday visit. I had the Egg Coffee and bf had the Saigon Coffee. We enjoyed our drinks very much; I savored every sip and already know that the Saigon Coffee with Cream Cheese foam will be next for me. With the remaining time, we decided to stay until closing to take in the pleasant ambience while looking out at busy North Park. The place is bright and clean. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Project Wildlife
5433 Gaines St, San DiegoStmbled upon what appeared to be an injured/weak hawk in our parking lot. This was just prior to dusk. We made it to the San Diego Project Wildlife office before they closed. Very thankful that there is a place where they can evaluate and treat these precious animals.

Wee Companions Small Animal Rescue
3368 Governor Dr F, San DiegoWee Companions is such an amazing and helpful rescue! They are so thorough and informative. It's clear the staff truly cares about the welfare of their animals. You are required to fill out a questionnaire in order to adopt so they can ensure you are a knowledgeable adopter. We got a Campbell's hamster, multiple dried flowers, a hide, dried mealworms, sand and all the bedding from our little guys enclosure, for 26$. I was so happily surprised by the cost! It was so nice supporting a small business that focuses on giving animals a second chance. I can't say enough good things about them!! You also get 50% off products when you adopt! (The photos of our little hammy are from our enclosure at home)

UTC Mall dog park
8949 Lombard Pl, San DiegoI wouldn't personally bring my dog to a mall but for those who do, this is a great little dog park to let your pups run around. It's all grass and has small benches near the entrance. It's tucked in behind the food court (you go down the ramp near Starbucks just outside the food court). It's always quiet there, I've seen two dogs there at the most at any given time. You will see people walking by, so this would be a good place to expose your puppy to people without overwhelming them.

Mutt Scouts
325 W Washington St #2197, San DiegoI have fostered about a dozen dogs before a friend recommend I foster for Mutt Scouts. The whole team is so dedicated to saving dogs (and the occasional cat), no matter what their story is. After fostering a mom and her 5 puppies I decided to just do one big dog next. Well, he is our first ever foster fail, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you Mutt Scouts! We will foster again at some point once we all have settled into our new family routine!

San Diego Humane Society
5500 Gaines St, San DiegoState of the art facility! I'd never been here before and I was so impressed with the way the animals were housed. They had plenty of space in their quarters with toys and beds. The staff was incredible and guided us through the inside so we could take a peek at all of the future pets. Keep up the great work San Diego Humane Society!
