“I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. We moved to downtown SD a year or so ago and spent a *good amount* of the first 6 months in this store!
The location is fantastic. It's 5 blocks'ish from our condo, so it's perfect for us!
The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have anything and everything you need, even stuff you don't know you need (like Twizzlers at the front counter). Paint? Yes. Tools? Yes. Ladder? Yes - and we even bought a 6ft ladder and walked it home (it was a bit of a Keystone Cops moment crossing a couple of streets, but yeah we walked it home).
If they don't have what you want in stock, they'll get it from another location for you.
It's clean and the aisles aren't cluttered. And I feel the need to mention the staff, again. They are ALWAYS there if you need them and really good about not only finding stuff but answering questions on whatever project we were working on.
We'll definitely be back (hell, we've been known to go 3 times in one day - because there's usually something we forget no matter how prepared we think we are).

“This is a neighborhood staple. I love being able to walk in for almost everything. The owners love the neighborhood, and the staff is knowledgable and kind. I love that my money is staying local vs going toward big corporations. They have tons of gifts! One of the best parts: there are a couple parking spots in the back.”

“I am so impressed but not only the service but the quality of the product! I was doing some work in my kitchen, it has not been painted since the previous 2 owners! Over 10 years ago, they were kind enough to leave the old paint can in the garage. It was completely dried out of course. I called ahead to check to see if they could paint match, she confirmed they do but they need a large enough sample to scan. She asked that I bring the can in and they will determine if it can be done. I walked in handed her my can she took a look and the dried paint on the lid was enough for a good scan! She was very knowledgeable without even looking at the label she could already tell what finish it was and type. She did warn me it was 10 year old paint and they could get it as close to the color as possible. I knew it would be far fetched to match exact but I will eventually will repaint the entire kitchen later on. I just needed enough to cover up wall patches. I was in and out in about 15-20 minutes! Quick scan and my paint was created! Such an easy process! She even provided a 10% discount. I just painted the walls and it's a spot on match! This exceeded my expectations!”

“These guys are great. I generally order online (Benjamin Moore) and then pickup here. The paint has always been ready and waiting. When I need paint equipment or have questions, the staff is helpful and friendly. Note that this is a paint store not a home improvement store, don't expect more than that.”
