Nice Oceanside location. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel, but this fits the clientele and club nightlife of PB. I would keep this in consideration if you are looking for a white Oceanside stay. For the price per night it was a nice ambiance and an enjoyable stay without any interruptions. The WiFi in the building though is very poor, and could benefit from a bandwidth increase.Walkability: Extremely close and convenient beach access

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights in May and we loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the rooms were clean, well decorated and bright. Also, we loved the location. We'll definitely consider this hotel if we come back to San Diego.

We loved our stay at Ocean Park Inn!!! It’s literally right there by the beach & it’s so nice and cute. All the employees were kind, helpful, and professional. The pool area was clean, there are great restaurants nearby, and the boardwalk is perfect. I’d go back in a heart beat!!(The only thing we were not super impressed with was breakfast - it was fine, but nothing too exciting & the same options every day.)Rooms: We got a “partial ocean view” room, & it was awesome. Still had a stellar view, and cheaper than the “full ocean view” rooms. Would recommend.Safety: There are definitely plenty of hobos around, but I felt very safe at the hotel. It’s kept locked in the back, and there’s a guard in front to watch the door.We never had any issues or run ins with hobos outside the hotel either.Walkability: We used public transit on this trip & it was extremely doable. There’s a bus station right around the corner from the hotel that can get you to anywhere in San Diego. But there’s also plenty of food & activities right there on Pacific Beach - we could have stayed right there our whole vacation.Food & drinks: Breakfast at the hotel consisted of waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and assorted muffins, bagels, yogurt & fruit. It was the same everyday. They had great recommendations & coupons for restaurants in the area!Noteworthy details: If you want to bring a car, parking at the hotel is $35 a night.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS QUAINT BEAUTIFUL HOTEL FOR ONE SECOND! ? I did at first glance, checking in the front desk was extremely pleasant kind and patient (we had 5 rooms all together with 5 kids 3 of which were under 7) super helpful, gave us tips, explained our room perfectly, where to get amenities, how to get out, other information relevant to our stay. Including beach access, ocean access way, rentals of bikes, surfboards, boogie boards, etc. Once we arrived to our room .... I can't even explain how much I fell in love with this hotel! ❤️ it's small HOWEVER you won't think so because of the high ceilings and the furniture placements, big bathroom, patio with your own chairs and table that lead to the beach access way to get to the ocean! It was so peaceful our kids L O V E D it so much! There's 2 beds (my husband and I always have to sleep in separate beds on vacation because my husband is 6'5" and is a bed hog and usually our daughter sleeps in the bed I am in) there is a huge sofa/love daybed sort of chair that was enough for her to sleep on and she loved it! The breakfast was amazing, usual stuff but also waffle makers, omelets, variety of breads fruit and foods. Spending the day out on the beach playing in the water and the waves even tho it was pretty cold .. we didn't care, we couldn't get over how beautiful it was and watching the people use giant dumptrucks to pick up carry and move the sand on the beach, back up to the start of the beach because the tide comes in super high and super quick so they do it everyday during high tide season. Let me tell ya, the mountain of sand is monstrous and the kids loved playing on it! Even had a rinse off station! We loved it and worth every penny! Must have on your bucket listRooms: Small but it doesn't seem so small with the ceilings kinda high and the 2 beds with a couch and sofa love seat chair thing big enough for a kid or 2 to sleep on. Bathroom has one of those rolling sliding doors which also when you put it over the bathroom door, reveals a closet, microwave, safe, extra linen etc. Nice TV beds are super comfy and I am always critical over the beds at any place but I loved these ones! The patio that has some chairs a small table and a slight partion type wall to give you a small amount of privacy but it has a walkway to use to get to the boardwalk area that leads to the ocean is one of the best parts!Nearby activities: San Diego Zoo, Sea World, rentals for canoes, bikes, scooters, electric and manual, boogie boards, tandem bikes, kids bikes, surfboards, quads, ocean walks, boardwalk to the pier with some fun activities and games to do.Safety: Unlike other hotels, this place had a sense of security I didn't think I would have. You can only go out and in one way which is by the front office/check-in area. Parking is underground and inside a locked, guarded Gate only accessible through the check-in desk or your key with parking ability.Walkability: There is a giant, beautiful, and entertaining boardwalk along the ocean sand. There is a pier within walking distance. It is a small but broad area.Food & drinks: The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, however, this is the best one I have ever had and they had different stuff I've never seen in other hotels. Lots of restaurants and bars, etc.Noteworthy details: My favorite most noteworthy detail is going to be how this is not my average reaction to what I thought would be a mediocre stay. I was genuinely, thoroughly, and unbelievably surprised! Such a beautiful hotel, with a beautiful area, a beautiful pool, and a waiting area. Also, another quick, important detail that was the cherry on top ..... the ice maker machine was out of service and I didn't think there was any other option so I was visibly upset. However, one of the hotel staff saw this and quickly jumped into action, this beautifully kind and compassionate person asked me if I needed some ice. To which I replied that I was and he said what's your room, I told him and he said okay well

The Ocean Park Inn would be absolutely perfect if it weren’t right next to a very loud and popular club, the Firehouse. The rooms were shaking and sadly not soundproof enough for the music next door. The club closed at 12 am and we were able to sleep well after that. The rooms are great and the ones with an ocean view are great since they have a little outdoor area for tanning and sitting al fresco. The rooms with a bed and a couch in them are quite tight. The downside there is also the barn type doors where the bathroom is never fully shut. The hot tub and heated pool are right in the center of the hotel and made for a wonderful evening listening to the waves crash. The rooms were very clean and the whole hotel is very well maintained. It was a fun experience to wake up right next to the beach, hear the waves at night and to also see the storm rolling in.

I did a ton of research leading up to our trip so I feel obligated to leave a review. I was really torn between Ocean Park Inn, Tower 23, Pacific View Terrace, and Delmar hotel ( up north). I am so glad we chose Ocean Park Inn. Our room was super clean, my husband loved the free breakfast, and the hot tub was a huge hit for us. The renovations are super cute. I will say we splurged and went top floor ocean view, trust me, it's worth it! You can lay in bed and see only ocean and waves. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had the best experience at Ocean Park Inn!! The location is amazing, the beach, boardwalk and restaurants were all within steps of our room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs with small children. The pool and hot tub were very nice and warm! Breakfast was good and convenient. The robes and beach towels in the room were great extra touches. We love that they had a room to accommodate our family of 5. 10 out of 10 recommended staying here! We will be back!
