Nothing like waiting an hour after your appointment because your doctor forgot that you and your son existed. Also, those are fingernails.... or... toenails? In our exam room, nice.

Let me tell you something. I have never seen a hospital that legit drags there feet to do anything. The emergency room is a bunch of people sitting doing absolutely nothing. That’s just the nurses good luck actually trying to get to a doctor. If your insurance allows you to go to a civilian please do so. Also stay away from doctor (LT Johnson) never meet such a disrespectful human being before in my life.

Was mis-diagnosed here. I had a broken wrist. They just gave me the old ibuprofen and ice treatment. Turns out I needed surgery. Get a second opinion if you can.

If the doctors are taking a while its only cause they only have so many pairs of hands, all times I've went everyone has showed complete interest in getting me fixed once I'm being seen.

Took my daughter to the er today because she has bad cough. They took X-rays and said there is nothing. They only prescribed cough medicine. Medicine not working and my daughter is coughing bad still. They did absolutely nothing for my child! Here I am at 12:06am trying to soothe my child cause she is coughing so bad.

I seen HA,LAWRENCE GEE YUAN,MD. He is my primary care provider. This was my first visit at his Balboa Hospital. You go to building three. The visit was for the yellow fever vaccine. I also needed bloodwork and refills before my trip overseas. He suggested things that I may need for my health. He was very kind, he was very informative and he did not give me any type of anxiety. I love this doctor and I hope he never change. Also, I just PCS over here.

Went there twice to use the Emergency room. Both times we were seen relatively quickly, compared to regular emergency room wait times. Staff were generally attentive and sometimes even friendly. One time we went in and the employee at reception used my husband's ID to confirm coverage. He gave the ID back and claimed my husband couldn't be seen there. My husband is covered by both Tricare and the VA, so I think the employee possibly saw that and was confused. We clarified and he was able to be seen, but no one in the past showed any confusion so I have no idea what it was about. Also, the two ladies in the Infertility clinic who did my dating ultrasound were ABSOLUTE peaches. It was my first pregnancy appointment and I couldn't be happier with how I was treated.Labs is a joke. The wait is ridiculous, so bring something to occupy your time. Once I was seen, the staff were friendly/helpful.

Pharmacy is horror. Takes loooooonnnggg to get ur prescription even you input the order while still being seen by the doctor. Why???? No matter where you go takes up alll ur time. To many window but nobody is there. They should use the military personnel's again like before. This is sooo waste of time. Right at this moment people are lined up.. and nobody is opening another window to help people. I was at the line waiting to be called took about 5-10 minutes to realize that someone at number 12 is seating not calling me. Like don't they like their job or just to lazy to work? 3:13pm when I input my prescription and until now no call txt or anything..

Several years and it's finally time to tell my story. I had some sub standard neurologist. I got what my doctors now say might me a TBI. But this neurologist immediately went to administration separate. So I broke down completely and still had to fight his stupidity and find a neurologist that knew anything. I did not and got medical separation. It's time to tell my story because I got out. It was rough and I had a neurologist that was essentially trying to kill me. There are good good doctors there. With that being said I avoid the geographic area of the place so there's no way they would take me there but if for some reason they did I would walk out of there and die on the street outside. I'm never going back there.

I gave birth to my baby boy November 1st 2023. I had a great experience. Had a emergency C section and was taken cared of. My c section incision was done amazingly and is healing so well. NOW for the real reason I wanted to leave this review. ENSIGN JASMINE PINTERS!!!! She was AMAZING. I will always remember her. She made me so comfortable and gave me so much appreciated advice. It was her first day back from maternity leave the day I was admitted and her attitude was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better nurse. All nurses I had except for the main day nurse on my last day at the hospital was amazing. She barely checked on me and when I would request for her to come to my room she would send a corpsman instead but MS. JASMINE? AMAZING!!!! Thank you to her because she made such an impact in my labor and delivery journey.

Update: someone finally picked up the phone as I was parking in their lot (after having been on hold for 4 hours that morning alone). I had to wait a couple of weeks still for just a phone appt; however, once they saw what was going on, I was operated on very quickly. The operation went well. Zero complaints! But now stuck in what seems like the typical hurry up & wait cycle with follow-up testing & appointments.Balboa snagged my urology referral from my civilian PCM. The last 2 days, I've spent a total of 7 hours on hold, no actual person, just trying to make an appt for my initial visit for an urgent matter. Looks like I'm going to have to drive there to make an appt since literally no one is actually answering phones. Will update review when/IF I'm actually able to be seen.

The new Pharmacy system is very clunky and not user-friendly. After a visit to your provider, you need to text a number to get-in-line and able to enter the prescription medicine you need. The Navy is trying to reduce the traffic in their Pharmacy but in doing so created much more problem to their customers. My wife had to go to the Pharmacy 3 times to get some new medicine for my son. Still, she was unable to get everything the doctor had prescribed. The person at the desk was of no help at all. They kept insisting that she was not using the system properly. I have served in the Navy for 20 years and this is what I get. I very annoying system and very crude used of an amazing electronic technology. I am sure I am not the only one getting this type of treatment. How in the world the Navy cannot follow what Sharp or Scripps is doing. Their system is so easy. Just show up to CVS, almost no line at all and get your medicine so fast. This is another way the Navy is screwing their Retirees!!Fernando Ong
