I have fostered about a dozen dogs before a friend recommend I foster for Mutt Scouts. The whole team is so dedicated to saving dogs (and the occasional cat), no matter what their story is. After fostering a mom and her 5 puppies I decided to just do one big dog next. Well, he is our first ever foster fail, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you Mutt Scouts! We will foster again at some point once we all have settled into our new family routine!

I can’t say enough good things about Mutt Scouts!! We have both fostered and adopted from them and it’s always such an easy, enjoyable experience. Communication (the wonderful Shayna is our point person) is quick, clear and friendly. They truly care SO much about the well-being of their dogs. And they make their fosters and adopters feel very appreciated! A huge THANK YOU to all the staff and volunteers for the incredible work you do!!!

My partner and I adopted our dog from Mutt Scouts in Aug 2023. Everyone involved w the rescue goes SO above and beyond, Shayna is the BEST! Their care, compassion and dedication know no bounds. We are so, so lucky to have found Mutt Scouts! ??????

Lauren and the team at Mutt Scouts are amazing! The work they do to save so many dogs is inspiring - especially for animals that have special needs or need extra care / healing attention. I had a great foster and adoption process with Mutt Scouts. I highly recommend fostering with them.

MuttScouts is an amazing organization. They work tirelessly and endlessly to help as many dogs as possible. I've been lucky enough to work with them as a foster and also as an adopter of my sweet pup, President Snow. He was a total foster fail! The adoption application outlined everything so I knew what to expect in terms of agreements, money, expectations, neutering, etc.. I appreciate so much that Muttscouts vets their adopters and makes sure each and every one is going to a home that can guarantee ongoing quality care in the future. If you've ever adopted a puppy, you know that first year of vet appointments isn't cheap! Highly recommend that you foster/adopt from this rescue. They truly put everything into making sure a pup goes to the best home. And they settle for nothing less.

Our son bonded immediately with Vegas (female puppy) , filling our hearts with joy, though we were crestfallen to learn of the unexpected $550 adoption fee after the fact. We are deeply disappointed that Mutt Scouts did not relay this critical monetary requirement beforehand, especially knowing so many good dogs await families who have ample love to give but limited means. Going forward, we genuinely hope Mutt Scouts will reconsider fees that sadly put adoption out of reach for caring homes like ours.

Seeing negative reviews from people who seem to think a non-profit / volunteer run organization owes them a dog right when they want one. Mutt Scouts cares more about their dogs well-being over money grabs and grumpy potential adoptees, and that's what makes them a great shelter. Thankful for the work they do, and thanks to their professionalism I eventually found the *right* dog for my station and situation, not the *first* dog. Good things take time.

We had a horrible and unprofessional experience in our attempt to adopt a puppy from Mutt Scouts. We were looking for a new dog as we had to put down our Lab who was 14+ years old. We have another dog who was very lonely and we were ready for another family member. Our other lonely dog had previously been aggressive to other dogs. We put him through several training classes in addition to a 4-week boot camp. He's been much better but he's selective in the dogs he likes. We communicated this to Mutt Scouts and agreed to a plan where we would first bring our dog to the fostering home and see how they got along. If this went well, they would bring the dog to our house to see if there was any aggressive behavior. The meeting at the foster home went great and we set a date for them to bring the dog to our house. I received a text message the day before the meeting at our house stating that they have a lot of dogs returned to them with behavioral issues after one year. They were now unwilling to allow us to have the meeting at our house. They proposed that we meet with their trainer to help them figure out why they are getting so many dogs returned. Then they would help us find another dog. This was devastating to us as we fell in love with the puppy we met. We have since adopted another puppy from a more professional and better manager rescue. I do not recommend Mutt Scouts. Proceed with an abundance of caution if you attempt to work with them. Frankly, they have no right to be in the pet adoption business.

What a wonderful organization! Everyone works tirelessly to get dogs off the streets, get them healthy, and get them in forever homes. I’ve had the privilege of fostering 2 dogs through Muttscouts and they were great experiences. The team there is so helpful and supportive. I am so grateful for the work they do!

Mutt Scouts is a rescue so near and dear to my heart. Two of my dogs are from this organization and I couldn't imagine life without them. When they say, 'Every Mutt Matters,' they mean it. They are dedicated to helping the most emotionally broken and medically depleted dogs I've ever seen. Their devotion to saving, rehabilitating and finding street and shelter dogs a forever home is truly remarkable. If you live in Southern California, please consider fostering or adopting through this rescue. You won't regret it!

I'm so grateful to have come across this amazing rescue when moving to LA. After seeing a plea to foster a sweet paralyzed dog, I took her in through Mutt Scouts and am so impressed by the care and help they've provided. Not just for the dog herself but also for myself and my husband while we navigate life with a paralyzed dog. Whenever I've had any concerns about her health, their team has been immediately responsive (despite being run solely by volunteers who have full time jobs and busy lives outside of the rescue). They've fundraised for her to get a set of wheels, sent her to specialists when necessary, and provided us with any/all resources we've needed while caring for her. It's been a wonderful experience and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to foster or adopt. Not to mention, they always have the cutest dogs available -- puppies included. Thank you, Mutt Scouts!
