It is not easy to find a good, honest technician and I cannot say enough good things about the team at MR Auto SD. I can be a picky customer and Steve and Hao are always friendly, helpful and accommodating. I’ve taken my 2010 VW GTI to them for a few relatively major repairs and each time they’ve given me a competitive price and completed the job quickly and without cutting corners. After the last repair I had some questions so I sent them an email. My questions were addressed promptly and professionally. Just great guys doing high quality work at a great price and running a top notch business. They’ve earned my loyalty and I highly recommend you give them a chance for all your maintenance and repair needs.

This place is simply amazing! They easily could’ve charged me a lot of money since I asked if I should change engine oil, transmission fluid, break pads, rotors, tires, and any other issue I need to fix. After inspection, they suggested that I only need an oil change for now. Then they gave me time frame for everything else to take care of later. That was good news for my pocket. Also, their prices are super competitive.

Very honest, my truck broke down and I was told by another mechanic the fuel pump had to be replaced, brought it here instead and not true. One of the sparkplugs was misfiring. Easily could have charged me more and didn't. We need more places with people like this.

Long story short this will be my new car shop to go.
After driving over a pothole coming out of UCSD (iykyk) my dash started showing “trac off” and soon after check engine light turned on (2013 Lexus RX350 w/137k), the next day I came here because FREE CHECK UP on what the problem was. Know that other places and my old auto shop all said they would NEED their mechanic to do an inspection which would have costed $160+ just for the inspection. Today I brought my car in, they quickly isolated the problem, which is old solenoid needing repair (causing timing problem that misfired trac off and check engine warning) but the mechanic managed to fix it by revving the engine couple times. Then they very honestly told me since it’s old issues it’s not emergency to get it fixed asap, but they gave a quota of $624 for parts and labor (approx 3 1/2 hours) if I do want to have it replaced.

I cannot recommend Mr. Auto SD highly enough! After scouring numerous 5-star reviews for this auto repair shop, I decided to reach out to them for a quote, simultaneously contacting five other vendors for the same service. To my pleasant surprise, I received a response from Vu P (the owner or manager) on a Sunday night when I least expected it. I submitted my VIN and described the issues with my 2017 Infiniti QX60, which included needing a new boot-ball joint for the front lower part, a transmission flush, and addressing the issue of the AC not cooling properly.When Monday rolled around, the only response I had received by 9 a.m. was from Mr. Auto SD. This spoke volumes about their commitment and efficiency. Despite the shop being a 45-minute drive away from me due to morning traffic, I decided it was worth it to give them a chance. They had an impressive 306 reviews with a 5-star rating, and I can confidently say that they live up to their stellar reputation.Describing a mechanic as honest can often seem like an oxymoron, but from the moment I stepped into Mr. Auto SD, I was greeted by Steve at the counter. Steve was not only helpful but also exceptionally professional. He patiently answered all my questions, putting me at ease. Additionally, Hao, one of the mechanics, displayed the same level of professionalism and expertise.After a thorough inspection, they informed me that there was no need to change the boot-ball joint, and they were baffled as to why the dealership had suggested it. This level of honesty and integrity is truly commendable. Ultimately, I ended up only getting the transmission flushed and the AC hose replaced.Mr. Auto has earned my utmost respect and trust. If I could give them a 6-star rating, I would gladly do so. They have proven themselves as a top-tier auto repair shop, and I'm proud to be one of their 300+ satisfied 5-star reviewers. I wholeheartedly intend to become a loyal customer and will enthusiastically recommend them to all my friends and family. This place is really tucked in the corner. Took me two laps around the complex to finally found the place! I came in looking for an oil change and tire rotation. Total was about ~90, which was reasonable. I showed up super early, hoping they can squeeze me in last minute.... And guess what? They did! They were honest about their schedule and wait time which I appreciated. They didn't try to cram me in and have me wait for hours. They were upfront and honest about their availability. I walked out of there pleased with my experience and will probably be back. But make an appointment, y'all! Don't be like me and hoping they can just see you when you show up!

Took my WRX in to get walnut blasted. They showed me before and after photos and the difference is very noticeable in both performance and what was found and cleaned off the valves. Pricing was very fair for the work performed. Thanks!
