I had the worst experience with Debbie, who I later found out was the yoga instructor at this particular ymca. She approached me so aggressively about me checking my phone, while I was on one of the leg extension machines. She came up to me, tapped me on my shoulder as I was literally getting ready to start my workout and rudely asked how many sets I had left and if she could work in with me. I told her no, that I would be quick and she just stayed there staring at me. In between my sets I looked at my phone to see the time, and this disrespectful lady got in my face and yelled that if I had time to look at my phone I needed to get off. She was so inappropriate with how close she was to my face, screaming and pointing her finger at me. I defended myself by telling her to leave me alone and if she had anything better to do and she said, " no, I'm going to stand here and stare at you." I really tried to ignore her, but then Debbie took out her phone out and started taking pictures and recording me. Yelling that she was gonna send my picture to the director of the Y to get me kicked out for "being on my phone." The entitlement of this lady was insane.. She started yelling at me telling me that she worked there like I was supposed to be scared of that. She was not in her work uniform. She was in regular workout clothes. I think it is so embarrassing for the Y to have someone walking around acting like that..

I was approached by the yoga instructor, Debbie, and she tried to intimidate me while I was finishing my sets. She tried to force me off my machine and proceeded to stare at me while I tried to finish my workout. She is so rude and should not be allowed to work in what is supposed to be a healing environment...

Obnoxious (and illegal in California) policy requiring you to visit the branch in person to cancel your membership, while you can easily sign up for one online.

Great experience with all the instructors for the group fitness classes - Dinah and Rachel have been particulary exceptional. Having quality instructors like them is a big selling point for me that makes this mebership worth it.

I love Zumba with Lachele on Friday and Mondays at 5:30. This was my second time attended and had a blast. I love 20 minutes away and so well worth the drive cause we have such a good time. Try to arrive active early to get settled in your space on the floor. The staff are friendly and greet you. The class is super pumped and all ages welcomed. I highly recommend the class. As far as the workout floor with weight they are having AC issues and so it might in that part of the building and hope they hurry to fix it. Other than that the no issues with this campus. I find great value in the programs there as they are there to help you meet your health goals. They also have scholarships and programs to help if financially needed and I think that's awesome. YMCA is family friendly and where you can get the whole family involved to work on lifestyle health. *Not my photo below but YMCA photo on site* I feel odd of taking pics in gyms is a safe space for all to come.

I was surprised that they won’t let me stretch in the mat in stretching area without shoes because they believe shoes that are worn out on streets are more hygienic (WT…!!!). And manager was not able to explain how is that possible. I have never heard anywhere else that shoes are mandatory for stretching. Everywhere else one is asked to remove shoes to get a better/deeper stretch.
They really need to do something about this illogical rule

So it's a typical YMCA Great for senior citizens and families. Lots of programs Dreary color scheme Large facility 2 pools Multiple work out rooms I took the deep water aerobics class which I'm thankful for since my knees are so bad. Women showed could use some attention. Missing tiles, mold, gross curtains. Over all if it wasn't for the showers it would be 5 stars.

The YMCA has long been a bastion for community sports, notably basketball, which was invented at a YMCA in 1891. This rich history makes the recent decision to curtail basketball court availability in favor of pickleball during peak early morning hours somewhat perplexing and disheartening.
The decision has stirred considerable debate among the YMCA members. On one hand, it's understandable that the facility wants to accommodate the growing popularity of pickleball, especially among retirees who are a large and active part of the YMCA community. On the other hand, this shift seems to disproportionately affect the younger, working demographic that values early morning basketball sessions as a vital part of their fitness routine and work-life balance.
While the sentiment of inclusivity for pickleball players is appreciated, the implementation feels somewhat skewed. Many working members feel that their needs have been overlooked, and the essence of what the YMCA stood for in the context of basketball is being eroded. The YMCA might have sought a more balanced approach, possibly by allocating different times or additional resources to accommodate all interests.
Furthermore, communication about these changes appears to have been minimal, leaving some members feeling blindsided. A more transparent approach, involving community feedback before implementing such changes, could have mitigated the dissatisfaction.
Overall, this decision by the YMCA reflects a challenging balancing act between tradition and evolving community needs. However, the execution and communication of the change could have been handled better to uphold the YMCA's commitment to serving all segments of its community equitably.
