Mission Trails Golf Course, located 10 miles from downtown San Diego near San Diego State and below Cowles Mountain, is a well-maintained public golf course designed by William Bell. Spanning 6,000 yards, the course offers a unique mix of scenery, with the first nine holes set in a valley and the second nine along the shores of Lake Murray. It features a par 71 layout that is not too difficult, making it suitable for all golfers. The course has a long and interesting design with tight fairways, some water hazards, and fun elevation holes. Amenities include a lighted driving range with grass hitting stalls, multiple putting greens, and carts. The staff in the pro shop is friendly and helpful. Visitors appreciate the fairway and green maintenance, as well as the reasonable prices. The course is also known for its history, having hosted a young Tiger Woods early in his career. Overall, it is a quality course with a good pace of play and enjoyable layout.
Course is in good condition, pace of play great. Joined the men's group and enjoyed a fun 5 club tournament. Looking forward to enjoying the course, other players and 19th hole. Note: you need rakes at every bunker.

This was a nice public course at a good price. We enjoyed our round today and the pace of play was a little slow but not bad. No yardage markers but we used the 18 Birdie app to give us distances. Fairways were average but greens were nice. We will definitely come back.

The pro shop staff was helpful and friendly. The price was right, and we played fast. Also, I recommend the tuna sandwich at the turn.
