Open only by appointment. Parking is difficult. Looks more like bric a brac than antiques.

Mission Gallery is one of the few antique stores on the west coast carrying genuine antique furniture, art and decorative art. This is not a vintage shop where you will find discounts or a warehouse with multiples. This is a store specializing in the rare, unique and beautiful. The owners (Jim and Randy) deal in authentic, one-of-a-kind pieces. They have a large selection of early American pieces but an even larger number of "Continental" (European) items and some Southeast Asian articles. You can also find a broad selection of jewelry, watches, and English and American silver and flatware. The owners might be described as eccentric, but they are passionate about antiques and generous with their time. And if you can spare the time, Randy has a story attached to every article in the store and is especially fond of sharing his experiences. You'll need to make an appointment to visit Mission Gallery, but I promise it will be well worth the effort!

Horrible! I called Mission Gallery antiques today because of the rating and the reviews I saw on their website. I called and spoke with someone named Randy. First off, he was rude. He didn't seem very friendly at all. I did, however, have a brief conversation with him in which he instructed me to send photos to the number on the site, which he said is his cell number. I informed him that I had left a message via the website two days ago and was following up to see if they had received that message and to see if they might be interested. He tells me that sending it that way is not good because he never gets to see it because of his partner, and it gets deleted. Ok, sounds weird, but again I did as he instructed. I send him the photos, and I wait for a response. I send him photos of two antique Russian silver icons which are both dated and stamped on bottom. One is 1863 and the other dated 1867. Also the Russian silver stamp 84 for silver. I wait for him to responds, so he then sends me pictures of icons that his store has and says" I am looking for actual icons". What?! I call him and tell him that what I've sent are those, actual icons. Instead of responding that with what he did, he could have easily asked me to send, in a KIND and professional manner, photos of the marks. Instead his reply is condescending and rude. I tell him that I will take my business elsewhere. I took it at their reviews and rating that they were a good company to do business with for selling antiques you may have, but I was dead wrong.Additional: Your response is not true at all. You can try to make me out to be a liar, but that's on you. I stand by what I wrote about what occurred.

Mission Gallery is a fantastic antique store, the last real one in San Diego. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Make sure you call ahead of time and make an appointment!

I looked up nearby antique stores that were open and this store came up. I got to this store and it said appointment only on the exterior, so I called the number listed. I called to make an appointment and our first call got disconnected. I was very rudely spoken to by some man after I called back a second time. He began telling me that the store hours/days have been the same since for years like I should have somehow known. I, never having been here before, was surprised at how rude this first interaction was considering how good the reviews are. Just unfortunate customer service.

This store is amazing and everyone is always so helpful whenever I have any questions. I do miss wandering through the store and enjoy the many things I've bought, almost all a "secret" find that I found accidently.

I spoke with Randy today requesting information about appraisals for a few pieces of art work. Although he was not personally interested in the art and had no vested interest in me, his years of working in the business was invaluable in pointing me in the right direction to get the information I needed. I will definitely give him my business in the future .
