San Diego store in UTC is appallingly poorly managed. Poor management is evident in the unprofessional staff.

I have been a very loyal customer to Johnny Was and love their clothes. Last weekend, I went to their store in UTC Mall in La Jolla, CA. I picked out 4 items and asked if they had them in size small or extra small to try on. Only one was available in a size small. The salesperson kept coming in my dressing room holding up other items, telling me I should try them on. These items were not ones I picked out, not were the the colors I like. She did this over and over again, until I finally asked her not to force products on me. This was a very unpleasant shopping experience, and I will avoid this store in the future. The salespeople at Johnny Was should not be so pushy and invading my private space.

I want absolutely everything that is in this store. High quality fabrics, and beautiful designs. The store is spotless, the service is excellent. It's not an inexpensive place to shop, but these are pieces that you would wear for a long time. They also have sales and they do have additional discounts from time to time. Conveniently located next to Nordstrom. Nothing else even similar elsewhere. If you want a knock out outfit this is where are you go. Five stars!

This is my wife's new favorite store. Erica was very helpful and friendly. She was able to very quickly recognize the styles my wife liked and found several items that my wife fell in love with. We went in to look at a swimsuit (I thought); we found it and then my wife informed me she had bought it online the day before. But we came out with a pair of pants and 3 shirts. I am sure we will be seeing Erica again in the near future.

Shopping @Johnny Was | Women's Clothing Store Natalie is a sweetheart as always and Angie was very attentive in the fitting room. Both were helpful in suggesting pieces and creating an outfit around my boots. Thank you ladies.

I love all of the sales people, manager is totally the best personal shopper ever! They will find any size or piece that you want which is brilliant. The manager personally has found me sold out things many times that I wanted. Mailing and returns are excellent. The clothes are totally me! the first store and only store for me. Actually my granddaughter loves the clothes also, so for any age. The clothing can be hand washed though it says dry clean only which I never use dry cleaners due to toxic chemicals. This is the best store ever, I used to love hordes now I never go in there. Except for shoes! I go in at least a few times a month as they get new things all the time. Expensive but these pieces will never ever go out of style. I still love pieces I have had for 5 years. thank you johnny was. I never found manager aggressive, some people do move things around and she is always real honest if there are any problems, so do try this store! la jolla

The manager but not the salesperson was not only aggressive but actually dishonest. I found a dress I wanted which was marked 75%off. She then said it was mismarked and that discount applied to the short version. There was no short version. I then pointed out that the same dress in a different size was also color-marked as 75% off. Then the chart showing the % discounts applicable to merchandise on the sale rack disappeared from above the rack. She then said the discount was 70%, not 75% as the salesgirl had just quoted me. I bought the dress but not without feeling angry and offended at that persons treatment. I should also mention that I entered the store wearing a full face shield which she said was inadequate as I might be dropping virus to the ground from underneath. I added the mask under the shield as requested.
