Buy from hilltop and main st in Chula Vista
They honor their warranty
I bought a motor for my Prius I did everything they ask
They refused my warranty, say I waited to long because I waited to the last day
At first they were fine with it and said just bring it back
Then they said they need a video of it running and leaking oil
At the end they just refused any exchange
Buy from the one one main st and hilltop rd in Chula Vista

I don’t usually do this.. but my experience purchasing an FA20 Imported From Japan with 45k Miles on it, I bought this Engine from JDM WestSide in December of 2023, I’ve been saving up for months for this engine because my car has been sitting for a whole year waiting for a new engine to get mounted. Purchased this engine, and it arrived two weeks later, we get it installed a week later we did the little tweaks that they mentioned prior to purchasing the engine, did the mechanical work that was needed, done by a Subaru Tech, and the engine does not work, smoke coming out of the exhaust, check engine light, showing codes of P0303 and P0300; Misfire in Cylinder 3, they checked the compression on the Cylinders and it could barely keep up at 30 and , this was all installed professionally by 2 Techs at Subaru. Called JDM WestSide, and try to see if we could figure something out, because on the agreement form it says guarantees from rod knock, cracked block, and Internals for 30 days, but they refused to help and said they could not do anything about it. Months later now it’s June 2024, we’re fixing the misfires and cylinders and all that to get the engine to work, still haven’t been able to drive the car even after mounting the engine, been saving up another arm and leg to pay to fix it, the mechanics open the engine and just straight up told me the short block is done for, it’s damaged and they tried to fix it or something because they used some sort of white glue sealant for to seal the heads, and Subaru mechanics and from factory uses a gray glue sealant. So after well over $8k hard worked for money, is now down the drain, and yet to have a car because these people don’t stand by their word. :/ just watch out

I loved this place! All the guys were so helpful and patient with me. The motor I bought was beautiful, clean, like new. The price was good. Overall I would highly recommend JDM Westside! Thank you guys for all the help!

Great pricing and the engine I received was good! The only issue I had was with the shipper they chose to use. My order was placed on a Sunday and JDM WestSide called Monday to confirm everything(which is great) and was told it would be 2 or 3 days for delivery in Texas-perfect! The shipper called to schedule a delivery on Friday but I was not available on Fridays so how about another day the following week? It was at this point I was informed they only deliver on Fridays. WTH kind of shipper ONLY delivers on Fridays????? Other than working through that, I had a great experience with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

In my opinion, they don't even deserve one star. This company is not honest. They gave me credit for a bad transmission they sold and did not honor it. If I return anything to a store (without receipt even) I always get credit if they cannot replace it. That credit is as good as cash and I can spend it anytime. There is no limit for a credit. They told me that and now change their mind. They don't understand this concept. Once the money is in their hand, they will not return it. Beware. They will screw you for a buck. Listen to other reviews on here, they are telling the truth. There's other JDM company out there to choose from, don't waste your money on this company.

paid $5500 for 2jzgte just for it to get refunded same day because they couldn't update the delivery address 2 miles away , how the hell you gonna deliver to my grandmothers apartments (old address) still my grandmothers address but still asked if i can get it shipped to my current address which is 2.4 miles AWAY! Instead they insisted in refund and cash on delivery,AFTER i asked last week if when i paid the rest of the payment can i update my delivery and they said YES WTF!I LITTERALLY ASKED LAST WEEK !! AND THE EXCUSE WAS WELL THAT GUY IS IN CANADA NOW FOR VACATION I CANT CHANGE THE ADDRESS IT HAS TO BE WHATS ON THE WEBSITE LIKE WHY WOULD YOU WASTE MY TIME !!!!!!Also this place is associated with LAJDM and JDM west side just a bunch of time wasters Read the previous yelp comments
