This is a long one but I feel it’s necessary to share as a warning to others:My family chose HRB to help us file our taxes since we were overwhelmed with a big move, a toddler, and a baby on the way during tax season. Kathleen at Rancho Bernardo was my “pro” and met with me to go over all of our paperwork. One downside to their services was that they charged an additional fee for each sheet of printed out information such as stocks. This added up our prep fees to over $500. We agreed to this, went over our refunds as well as reviewed my direct deposit information over the phone multiple times.We then quickly looked over the return and signed it - opting to pay for those prep fees with our refund. Our return was accepted and we waited for our refund to come through from Emerald Financial - HRBs Banking system who received our money from the IRS to take out our owed service fees.Nothing. I contacted HRB after a week or so and no one responded. I sent another message and Buket, a manager reached out to me as Kathleen was on vacation. I was told to wait longer until it was realized that my money was lost and sent to my account number but missing one digit at the end, which I overlooked when signing the return.I have since been sent in circles between my bank and HR Block and no one can locate funds. I’ve been provided trace numbers, details, dates, amounts, and no one can locate the money. Emerald’s customer service is horrific, dismissive, and difficult to communicate with due to accent barriers. My bank, USAA says I need to contact HRB, while HRB tells me I have to figure this out with USAA. I’ve been ignored, lied to, and strung along for the past six months - trying to get my almost $3k refund that my family desperately needs.I’ve demanded my service fees be refunded and got half of it back, with an explanation from Buket - that it is my fault that I signed my return and overlooked the missing digit on my account number.This has been ongoing since April 2023. I have contacted the IRS to try to investigate this and have requested check replacements with continued replies that I’ve already received my funds. Yet no one can find the money. I wanted to avoided leaving a negative review as I kept getting the impression HRB would make this right, so I post this as a warning and serious complaint.

Horrid! Absolutely the worst, did not pay attention to my paperwork, brushed me off and charged me alot of money. Sorry to say, but would hate for others to be treated so badly...this was in Las Cruses.

Woke up this morning and decided to file my taxes so I called H&R block and they were able to get me in immediately. Jess was very kind and I worked with Sujata, who was VERY patient with me and explained everything to me step by step, even when I was getting frustrated and overwhelmed. She has over 20years of experience and can quickly figure things out off of the top of her head just by a quick glance at the paperwork Will definitely come back to Sujata next year.

I was fortunate to be assigned to Dawn who I found to be strategic, a willing educator and very forthright.I tend to dread preparing for taxes but I showed up with a 80% organized list of income and expenses with backup paperwork, and Dawn had me filed and out the door in two hours.I'm a bit in shock that it's over so fast. This turned into a good day!Thank you, Dawn (and Katherine Green who pre-screened me and passed me to Dawn.)

I feel that H & R Block is top notch. I did a brief drop off interview, opened up an online profile and was able to upload missing docs and came back to sign my docs. It was that easy!

I don't usually post harsh reviews and refrain from negativity on the internet, but one associate has tested my patience well enough for me to be doing this.DO NOT EVER work with Dawn Reamey- She is very forgetful, loses important documents and does not respond back to emails. She has lost one of my IRS letters, has not been able to locate the ITIN number from IRS of my husband (we filed the ITIN application with IRS last year-with no resolution). Due to her negligence and lack of communication and follow up, we had to file an extension for our taxes this year. Thanks for nothing Dawn and HR Block.

Quick, easy, takes the stress out of taxes. Have been going here for years an recommend them to anyone I know. It nice to feel like there is someone in your corner when dealing with the government.
