I have lived at Hourglass Park Apartments for three years now and I really enjoy the atmosphere which includes nice amenities (pool, jacuzzi, gym, pickleball courts, laundromat and an off street assigned parking space). The grounds are beautiful; the units are well maintained and comfortably equipped. Located close to freeways, shops, schools, restaurants, and a movie theater.
Then considering the greater San Diego rents, they are reasonably priced.
The staff is quick to respond to maintenance requests and does their due diligence to get the work done. Sometimes vendors lag, but onsite staff is always quick to respond.
This is a safe and comfortable place to live.

Second time living here and the management has improved significantly since 2018 (previous management was very passive and permissive of everything ), moved back in in 2022. Very responsive maintenance requests and a manager who actually trys to make sure everything is handled promptly and effectively. The amount of plants on the property is amazing and beautiful. The owner really enjoys plants so that's a big win for us. Rent is just as expensive as the rest of San Diego so hard to be happy about that but there's no winning on that front. Centrally located is also a big plus.

One of the worst experience I had so far. PFB.1) No move-out inspection. Once we move-out, false expense reports are being generated by the management and not refunding the security deposit.2) Bad customer support.3) Worst maintenance support from maintenance team/management.4) Houses are with plentiful roaches and spiders. Please be really careful from security deposit perspective.

Inside of the apartments are nice and comfortable. Not too noisy considering it's 1/4 mile from the freeway. Outside parking lot needs a little work or some renovating. Parking lot is so tiny you can't back into your spot.

Beautiful, tropical setting with a nice park across the street with lots of side walk access for walking/jogging around the fields. Walking access to the college and stores nearby. Tracy and Nicole were very kind and accommodating. Always quick to respond back when I needed assistance.. even keeping a close eye on my parking spot so my caregiver would have a place to park in the lot. When I was considering needing another unit because of a medical issue, Nicole really took the time to search out what unit would be best for me. Though I had to break my lease and leave early because of worsening health conditions, they were generous about giving me my full $600 deposit and a refund.

It is a very nice and comfortable place to live. The neighbors are always friendly and cordial. The very friendly and cordial manager is always willing to talk if there is any doubt or concern about the property. It is very nice place

I lived there for 2 years. The quality of the apartment is not amazing but the management and maintenance team are wonderful. When I moved in there was a bug problem but I was able to fix that myself with a few amazon purchases (though you have to end up cleaning a bunch of dead bodies out). Although the price of rent went up, they never increased my rent. Management is always looking for ways to improve the community to make everyone happy, and is generally non-confrontational. Communication with management was a difficult thing but seems to have been significantly improved by the time I moved out. I somehow managed to get my whole security deposit back after deduction for cleaning, which was quite surprising. The community is also very friendly (albeit loud sometimes). For what it is, and where it is located, it is a very good choice. I would recommend.

It is disturbing, there is a pandemic yet in this complex, many children run around most not supervised, most not wearing a mask. People park in other people's spaces,. There is vandalism and a security guard no one knows about that seems to have access to the surveillance equipment does nothing. As soon as management goes home between the hours of 4 until dark, kids are running amok screaming and being a nuisance with once again no parents to supervise them.

I work for the government. I was in a pickle when I arrived at my La Jolla apartment and it turned out to be a crap hole. I lost my deposit there too. Be wary of rentals by condo owners. My second choice, (only because I wanted a w/d in unit), was Hourglass Apartments. I can't say enough about how wonderful I was treated by Tracy and Lourdes. They knew I was stressed, they allowed me to move in the next day after a sleepless night at a La Quinta with cats, and they were supportive when my government job moved me again. I overlooked the tennis court and loved watching the doubles matches in the evening. It's close to the park, and I'm a walker so that was wonderful. I bless them everyday for their kindness and professionalism.

The tennis court is used as a children’s jungle gym from the early hours of the day until the late night. It was so beyond loud, sometimes I couldn’t even hear the TV. I spoke with them about the noise and they did nothing. Pool area is dominated by children and loud Mexican music, constantly. It’s impossible to use public spaces at this place. After 4 months of living there, roaches turned up (I’m a very clean person, so I was insanely shocked, even maintenance commented on the cleanliness .) took them 2 weeks to bring in an exterminator. Barely solved the issue, contacted pest control myself and he told me the nest was defiantly located in another apartment. Weird foreigners are constantly walking around, people hot box and jam music in the parking lot, and I’ve defiantly seen what appeared in parking lot drug deals. The place sounds and looks like a refugee camp. Maintenance staff is very polite. Judgments are up to you, choose wisely.

Love the community, great staff and the apartments are amazing. The pool is also very well kept. Highly recommend this apartment complex in Mira Mesa.
